JanD's New Year, New Start, Maintenance Diary

Jan, what is a turkey baster job?.......do you mean artificial insemination?..........excuse my ignorance.

Agree with Sandra about the gay subject....not at all unusual these days..........30 years ago, completely different story.

HaHa - yes Mary DIY AI ;) God knows who the donor would be ... now if it was my gay son's partner she could have one for herself and one for them and the genes would be about as close as they could get to having one of their own .... I AM only joking by the way - just in case anyone starts pulling me up on ethical/moral/whatever else issues. Anyway - the boys don't like babies

I'm really happy about how far society has moved on as you can imagine!

Believe it or not I didn't want any grandchildren - certainly not when they were thrust upon me anyway, but I couldn't be without them now. If you'd asked me back them I'd have said I'd prefer another dog - or even a cat (and I'm not a cat person!) :)

I'm Nanny or Nan, Bev :D xx

Yep! :giggle: You never heard the term turkey baster? hehe

xx

Met DH for lunch - we had a 'date' :giggle: I walked there & back - about 45 mins altogether I think, but it was my jaw that got the most exercise. I had an 8oz sirloin **chew chew chew chew chew chew**!! It was a Harvester so I had loads from the salad bar & didn't have the chips or peas.

Bit disjointed this food diary today xx

Sounds lovely! Wish that we had a Harvester......something else that Jersey bloody lacks:(. They're advertising a wonderful ice-cream sundae in the papers....

Awwwww a date! :) I love little date days/nights its cute isnt it!

Shame your steak was a bit chewy though xx

I don't know why I ordered it - I've never yet had a steak in a restaurant that I've really enjoyed! I was just looking for a change from chicken - should have had the gammon. Never mind eh? :)

I think I SAW those ice cream sundaes  xx

Ooooh I had the gammon on sunday Jan ... beautiful!!!
The sundaes are nice!! Especially the toffee one - the chocolate ones and toffee one are under 270 calories but the fruit ones are 335 and 334 cals. You'd never think that would ya lol x

Got a text before telling me not to go to work till 1am ... wonder why that meant I had to have a go ahead fruit bake?? **scratches head**

Have packed up a cooked meat salad, a boiled egg and 2 easy peelers to take to work. xx

Oh I did wonder why you were around here so early tonight as usually your not on till around now on a work night!

Ok that made me sound like a right stalker lol xx

HaHa ... a LITTLE later on a wednesday but not all evening as you say ;) ... you know me so well :) xx

Its very rare I've been disappointed by a steak in a restaurant!! mad for the steak I am!!

I'm probably just too fussy - it has to be just right which is why I never usually bother with it when out, my own fault I should have known better :) xx

lol isnt it funny how we are all different!! I refuse to order chicken when I'm out I dont know why oh and lasagne or spag bol as no ones spag bol or lasagne is as good as my mums!

I always try and order something that I probably wouldn't cook at home, generally something that Paul's not too keen on cos he comments when i cook one of my favourites, like tonight's fish pie, which he'll eat (cos there's nothing else) but would prefer a piece of battered cod and chips!

I'm with you on the steak Emma, nice rare fillet, still a bit bloody, bernaise sauce, English mustard and a few frites......heaven on a plate! Though actually I cook that nearly every week myself:D

New thread.......what's your absolutely most favourite meal? I guess that mine is the above, and my fave quickie supper is boiled eggs and soldiers......favourite starter is carpaccio and pudding is creme brûlée

I'm same! Rarely order steak when out as I'm always disappointed! Also always order something I dont cook - if I'm paying for a meal, I reckon it has to be something u wouldn't normally have or what's the point! Lol x

Very true but am a bore and always end up looking at calories and going for the lowest option, even if it is something i make at home!

I have to have my steak very much dead! I don't know- maybe because I'm a bit squeamish I can't stand it when it is rare!
Your grand kids are gorgeous! Love the curly hair!

Don't believe this ... just wrote a big long heartfelt confession and lost it between 'post reply' and here.

Not doing it again .. suffice to say fell off the wagon, ate the horse and having trouble getting back on!
