Kat1e's Diary - 7 years low carb - still learning!

Sounds lovely K, glad you're getting naps. Naps are gooooood! :D

You're doing fab keeping on track despite the hols. I think you must be the atkins-appropriate dining out guru right now.

Morning Katie, doing well thenn love

Morning all:D

Think three nights of lots of wine in a row is taking it's toll - feeling a bit bloated - definitely a light weight nowadays!:( Also missing getting some exercise - most dance classes cancelled this week so need to find alternative.

Sitting chilling with a large jug of water this morning.....DH has whisked DD off to sandown pier for entertainment, we've decided on lunch at home (sick of going out haha) and then off to see Tangled this afternoon.

Hmm - how to spend a few hours - paper or ipad?!

Catching up on yesterdays food - sunday:
b bacon, eggs, smoked salmon, slice of flax bread and marmite (big brekkie!)
L fresh prawns with garlic mayo, small rump steak and salad at the pub
D lamb steak (lots!), brocolli, 1 large mushroom, grilled aubergine, nibble of cheese
S mini pepperami, mini almond cup cake

W probably not enough - to be worked on
E lovely walk along the seafront for an hour
A ah yes - glass of brut zero champagne and yet more red wine (total 2/3 bottle)

Keeping an eye on the pub food. Main problem is the salad dressings i think as they tend to come already applied - must remember to ask for plain! Hoping that it's a fairly small problem and counting extra carbs just in case. Anyone got a view on how bad it can be?

Hi Kat1e,

Sound like you are having a wonderful break and all that sea air. Sorry I can't help with the carb count as I am new to this. However, I knocked myself out of ketosis on saturday night due to trying to make good food choices but failed as I didn't realise that spare ribs are plain but are glazed with sugar...lesson learned I suppose.

In order to offer some assistance, I heard that caesar dressing full fat isn't too bad as the aft hasn't been replaced with sugar and carbs. I suppose it depends on the dressing that was chosen. I have had loads of help over the week and esp yesterday when someone says, it is impossible to know the effects of dining out/past eating; all we can do is carry on....?!?!?!?!?!

Hope you aren't too washed out down there. The day is grey and wet here, so I hope the sea breeze is blowing the cobwebs away xx

Glad you are having a brilliant time - still doing well with the food - great stuff (and caeser is probably the best choice - on the side as Linz says so you can choose how much you need) xx

I think your food choices look really good. And also delicious *stares at screen hungrily*. The supermarket caesar salads usually seem to be okay, when you minus the croutons/tommytoes and most mayo type sauces I usually feel safe with unless they're obviously sweetened.

A bit depressed this morning...just hearing about the latest earthquake in christchurch, NZ. Have some really good friends there. One family has just checked in on fb and all ok so that's a relief. But not heard from the other family yet and i know they had structural problems last time.
And it's grey and drizzly. And we have to pack up and leave the island today....
