Kim's diary of being a new mum

J weighs the same.. He's not very tall (5ft8") and weighs in between 9-9.5st no matter what he eats.. And my God does he eat!!! His dinner portion is easily double mine and then its followed by chocolate straight after.. Copius amounts of fizzy drinks.. Full fat everything... And he just doesn't gain weight!!! Fecker!!!

He doesn't understand how people gain so much weight (he has said this)
And doesn't understand why people find it so hard to lose weight... "Just stop eating!" Coz you know how its that easy!!!
And so comes the argument of "so why's it so hard then for you to stop smoking? We need food to survive... You don't need cigarettes for anything.. So just stop!" And then all hell breaks loose.. LOL

Same as Mike then - he's about 5'8" too. He doesn't eat the huge portions though so is quite good at keeping my portions low, but if i diet he loses weight....even if i try to bulk up his food with things like sausage rolls and pasties in his lunch box...the sod still loses weight. When i was really strict on SW before my wedding he went down to 7st 10lbs :eek: from just eating SW dinners and eating normally the rest of the time.....i probably didn't even lose that much weight and i was living off salad and stuff all day every day.
Mike has always been upfront and said he doesn't understand how hard it is to lose weight, but he does get annoyed that he can't put it on which i don't really understand - i look at something calorific and gain weight.....i don't even have to eat it! haha.

Oh yes i reckon giving up smoking must be easier than dieting, but then i've never been a smoker so wouldn't know the addiction........but with dieting you have to eat to survive...it would be easier if you could just not eat but sadly thats not an option.

Ha ha... Jonathan's exactly the same.. When I'm being super good I add stuff to his food.. Like, I'll take my potato out of the mash, and use real butter n full fat milk in his to fluff it up... Or he'll have 3 r 4 sausages to my 2... And his portion is easily double mine, though still not huge.. With NO veg or maybe a few carrots, which are generally left to the side of the plate!!! lol
And yes, Jonathan has always been up front about not understand it being "hard" to lose weight..
He still comments on how big his sister went after her first baby... 5 years later!! She prob went to a 16 from a 12.. If even!!! And lost it pretty quickly TBH.. He just doesn't get it...

I think it def has to be harder to lose weight.. We NEED to eat.. We can't just stop and have the withdrawels and deal with a craving.. With food we have to still cook and eat and be around food to survive.. Am not saying the cravings can't be hard.. but so is the craving for a big mac

Hi Kim x when do u find out the results of the GTT? And great news about the house :) fingers crossed it all goes well for u sweetie x u deserve some good news xx

Re: Kim's pregnancy diary

Hi Jess, they will call me today if there is concern otherwise I won't hear anything. Fingers crossed.

Didn't hear anything again about the house *sigh* so gotta chase today to see if we have exchanged yet or not (not that I'd need to know or anything lol). Will keep you posted!

Good luck ;-)

Hopefully no phone call re: GTT today and lots of house action instead! Fingers crossed xxx

No phone call from the hospital, but we haven't exchanged contracts as now our buyers solicitor raised an issue at 4.30pm yesterday! I tell you it's no surprise my sodding blood pressure is high! what are these people playing at!

ARarrrrggggghhhhhhhh....... Seriously... Can I go slap them on your behalf???

I'll come with!! Don't they understand they're messing with a pregnant woman?! Hope they get it all sorted for you soon Kim x

FFS! Glad you've not heard from the hospital though, at least that's one good phone call you didn't get! xxx

Wow....the issues with buying this house are unreal!! I hope they sort themselves out soon! and 'ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' on your behalf :)

When we were buying our house the sellers solicitors were being slow and eventually werent really doing anything. So I did some investigating and found out that the sellers solicitor had been shut down by some solicitor-tellling-off-people (seller didnt know this/hadnt been told) and everything had been passed to a new solicitor and so I promptly rang them to chase up and told them to get their @rses in gear etc lol I can be one of those customers people hate sometimes if things arent going quick enough for my liking ..but i dont care...it gets things moving lol :D

Well still no news from Hospital so hoping thats a good sign :)

Update on the move.....
Seriously considering making a tv programme out of it because i don't think you could make this stuff up!
So the latest is that our buyers solicitor raised another last minute query at 4.30pm yesterday (i had an email at 4.00 saying we were going to exchange within the hour and were just waiting for the buyers solicitor to confirm) so...obviously exchange never happened. Our solicitor replied to the query either last night/first thing this morning, and then i get an call from the estate agent to say that she's now been told our buyers solicitor is out of the office today!!! so they wont authorise exchange without them. Usual drama of - if we don't exchange today, the solicitors in the chain are saying we can't complete next Thursday, top of the chain can't complete Friday as they have a funeral and then the guys we are buying from go on holiday for 8....yes 8 weeks, in the early hours of the following Monday AM....so if we don't exchange Thursday it wont happen until Feb!!!!!
Mike has had to email our buyers (luckily we have contact with them directly) to ask them to sort it out and make their solicitors find someone to authorise the exchange today.

Seriously - could you girls write this kind of drama any better?! Surely buying a house should NOT be this complicated! :sigh:

Oh but just to lighten the mood - Mike won an IPAD in his work christmas raffle, then went and bought some scratch cards and won £15, and now has got a couple of lottery tickets for tonights draw! *fingers crossed* hahaha.

Oh Kim.. What a load of messing you about?! Its ridiculous!!

It's crazy! My mum told me to tell them my BP is high and if it doesn't get sorted we will have no choice but to pull out lol. Thats how silly it is - all the way through she's been saying "thats the stress of moving" but finally even she agrees it's getting ridiculous!

It's my sisters birthday celebration tonight so i plan to eat CAKE instead of drinking the wine i would probably have drunk if i wasn't pregnant lol.

It's getting daft now, their solicitors need a good kicking! Hope it starts to resolve soon - it's just what you don't need right now :(

Nice work from Mike winning things though :D Hope the lottery comes up for you too, that'd be one lucky day!

Enjoy your cake - I think you deserve it! Sod dieting at times like this ;) xxx

Sooooo beyond ridiculous! Hopefully the email to the buyers will prompt them to get on their solicitors case

and cake sounds perfect to me :D

See, this is what I don't understand about conveyancing. Both sides want the same outcome right, to purchase/sell a particular property? So why all the messing around on their side? Doesn't make sense. I'd be an awful conveyancing secretary, I'd just want to bash heads together lol. I'm much happier with litigation which by it's nature is one big row lol ;)

Re: Kim's pregnancy diary

Seriously could.not.make.this.up........Well we got close to exchange...... but someone in the chain who's been doing lots of chasing hasn't even signed their sodding contract so no exchange! Seriously dealing with a bunch of incompetent solicitors I feel! Im pretty sure I could do a better job with zero experience or knowledge. Grrrrrrr

Gotta laugh or you'll cry right?! Or in my case laugh or commit solicitor murder!
