Kim's diary of being a new mum

Re: Kim's pregnancy diary

Morning Jess,
Im ok thanks feeling much better than I was at the beginning of the week so hoping that the antibiotics are starting to do their thing! :)

Feeling a bit stressed about the move tomorrow.... feels like we are not ready but please tell me that's normal?! Plus poor Mike didn't have the best night last night.... the shower hose broke and then the flipping glass that sits inside the oven door decided to explode when he was cleaning it.... glass EVERYWHERE and £100 later to replace both things! starting to think this move is a little bit jinxed what with the washing machine dying as well!

Baby is very active at the moment its moved and I think I've got little feet up by my ribs which is very weird when I can feel them pressing against my ribs! I've tried stroking/touching them but they move too quickly lol.

How are you Jess? Xx

Oh no!!!! That's all you need isn't it! I find things happen like that - just one thing after another!! But don't worry, when you move it will then be your time to enjoy :)

Totally normal - moving is stressful and regardless of the amount of time you've had to prepare (you've only had a week!!) I think everyone feels like "sh*t we aren't ready!!" - stressing about if everything is packed etc.

This time in a week or so (or earlier) everything will be sorted and you can finally put your feet up and relax :) and enjoy Christmas!!!!! :D xx

Hope it goes ok my lovely and glad your feeling better xxx

Morning hunnie.. Its absolutely normal... And all that's going wrong in this house is telling you its the perfect time to move on :)
Poor Mike :(
Do you have to have the move complete tomoro or have you got a few days between getting your new keys and handing back your old ones?
Baby's feet up your ribs is kinda painful isn't it?! x

Good luck today sweetie xxxx

Hiya just catching up now and looks like I've missed all the excitement. Can't believe you are moving today, it all happened so fast in the end up. Anyway good luck with the move and try not to do too much. HOpe your antibiotics are doing the trick and the infection goes soon x

30+2 Weeks

Well we are moved.....boy oh boy was that hard work but oh so worth it! :D We are in the new house and slowly getting there with unpacking. Poor baby's room is being used as storage but i am sure he/she doesn't mind just yet ;) lol.
Mike worked SO hard on the Thursday with his friends i cannot imagine how tired he was - i was exhausted and i couldn't do anywhere near what the lads did. We even managed to get the christmas tree up on Saturday so it really does feel like home now! We couldn't be happier :)

Can't believe i am now in to the 30's - where has the time gone?!? I did have a little moment of "omg we've got nothing ready" over the weekend, but was reassured by Mike and my mum that there is still time and now we are moved we can focus on baby.

Baby has been kicking up a storm over the weekend with all kicks up by my ribs, but last night it moved again and is now kicking my bladder and making me need to pee every 10mins! Maybe it's payback for being so busy over the weekend! I much prefer the kicks up by my ribs to these low down bladder/cervix kicks that much i do know. Guess it goes to show it still has plenty of room to somersault in there. I'm convinced it wont get itself in to the head down position...it just doesn't seem to like it - even with the kicks by my ribs i am sure it was laying transverse across me rather than head down!

Chest infection seems to be ok now - still have times i'm wheezy but i am not sure thats not a combination of asthma and baby pushing on my rib cage stopping it from clearing up.

We have no internet at home until 31 December so may not be on as much as i would like......unless i can sneak on at work.

How are all you girls doing? xxx

God you are one busy woman. Must feel amazing to be in the house. You can start making it your home now. And great Christmas present.
Plenty of time yet to organise for baby, sure they spend 6ish months in your bedroom anyway and they don't need that much to start with. You'll get it all sorted, don't worry.

Hi honey x I hope you're well today.

I'm so glad the move went well and you're all settled in :) I love the Christmas tree priorities lol ;) :D x

You can finally put your feet up, no more stress hopefully and begin to get ready for bubba. But you have plenty of time really as like Laura said they aren't in their room for a while anyway :)

I hope you, hubby and little one are very happy in your new home xx

Glad you're all moved and sorted now. I'm sure bubs wont mind you borrowing their room as storage for now ;-) Hope you have a fab Christmas in your new house xx

30+5 Weeks

Well almost at 31 weeks......single figure countdown! eeeek!!! Could someone slow down time just a little bit for me?! I can't believe Christmas is less than a week away and i'm turning 30 tomorrow!!!

Had a lovely evening with family last night had my presents from them and cake and was thoroughly spoilt.

I'm off work tomorrow and normally we would go up to London but i don't fancy the tube/train/crowds this year so we are going to go to my mums and set up the christmas decorations as well as go and visit my dad's memorial spot and put some christmas lights up (we always decorated the house/tree the weekend of my birthday together so i feel it's only right to decorate his spot for him)

Feeling a bit tearful about my dad the last couple of days, i guess as birthdays approach and christmas is fast approaching it's making me miss him more. I know he's up there watching down over us but it's just not the same as him being here and sometimes you just need your dad iykwim.

Hope you girls are doing OK. xxx

Eek almost in single figures. Although technically you are anyway - 9 weeks and 6 days!!!

Hope you have a lovely birthday Hun. I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be for you to have to go through your birthday and Christmas without your dad but, like you said, he'll be watching and looking after you all.

Big hugs. Xxx

Massive hugs hunnie..
Nothing I can say will make you miss him less but he's minding you n bubba..
I always miss my Mam most at midnight on NYE... Every year I brought in the new year on my own, in the freezing cold outside where ever I was coz I'd be on the phone to my Mam.. She'd ring me at 5 to 12 so she could still get thru and we'd be on the phone til the countdown.. N do it together.. Then we'd have a cry together and then I'd return to the party... It was our little thing so I understand what you mean...

Happy 30th Birthday Kim. Hope you get spoilt xx

Happy birthday Kim :) the big 30 xx it's mine in march xx

I know I said it on fb but happy birthday minis style!

It's so hard missing loved ones at this time of year and with the baby coming soon too as well it's hard not to let your thoughts wander. And yeah, sometimes you just want your dad and nothing else will do. I've been thinking a lot about my dad in the last week, how much I wish he'd been able to meet Colin and Seth - I hate that he's not here with us but I know that Seth is part of him living on and he'll grow up hearing all about his grandad. :) Massive hugs to you xxx

Awww thanks girls for the birthday wishes..on FB and minis :D! Sorry i haven't been on over the weekend, not having internet and relying on 3G on my phone is a pain in the backside.....roll on 31 December when we have our internet back!

Wow what a busy weekend i've just had.

Had a lovely birthday and was thoroughly spoilt, we went to visit my dad at the crematorium and put some christmas lights up for him (that was our little christmas tradition doing the christmas lights together so it was only right that he got some lights this year too :)). The weekend seems to have gone by in a bit of a blur!

My birthday was spent with Mike, my youngest niece and my mum - mainly taken up by being entertained by a crazy 11 month old visiting the Crem and taking my mum to the doctors (poor thing has hurt her right arm/shoulder and has been unable to move the arm for best part of 2-3 weeks and was meant to be working today but no way she could drive or deliver babies without the use of her right arm so she had to get signed off). Mike and I went out for dinner in the evening which was very nice. Oh and we bought ourselves a new bed....as you do on your 30th birthday! haha.

Saturday i was up early for a shopping trip with my sister and niece....glad we went in early as we got a parent and child space no problem and it wasn't until we were almost done that it was getting really busy! I followed that with a little christmas party with my friends for their babies which was lovely, a very nice way to exchange presents for the kids.

Sunday Mike and I put my mums Christmas decorations up for her (as i said it was always something i did with my dad so it was a bit odd doing it without my dad helping me but Mike helped me this year and i think my dad would approve of our decorations :)) Needless to say i was wrapping presents last night and had a bit of an emotional moment and burst in to tears on poor Mike.....better to get it out now and try to enjoy Christmas day i guess.

So back to work today........i couldn't be working with people who are less festive, at not even 9am the radio has been turned off because people don't want to listen to christmas songs  it's going to be a LONG day :( I wish i was at home with Mike not here with unfestive people lol.

Oh and girls pregnancy question - has anyone had really bad stitch like pain before? could it have been braxton hicks? I woke up on Friday night at about 5am with such bad pain in my side, baby going crazy and kicking away. The pain sort of came and went a few times and then i must have fallen back to sleep. I wondered if it could have been a braxton hicks contraction - but it was definitely in my side not my tummy.

Oh and dared to get on the scales this morning and total weight gain is 14lbs  more than i wanted but i'm blaming the large quantities for chocolates and crap i ate in the office last week....Jess i said i was eating them for you....and i am! ;)

Hope all you girls are doing ok - i plan to do minimal work and catch up with everyone's diaries!! xx
