Laura's Summer Slimming!

Welcome back honey! And yay for a holiday countdown! Where are you off to?

Whatever the scales say tomorrow, it's great that you're back on it and back into the running. Hope all's going well with your new insulin and it doesn't cause you any hassles in getting back on track.

To change the name of your diary, you go into the forum you originally started it in (Slimming World - Food Diaries), find yours on the list, then double click to the right hand side of the current title. It should open up a box where you can edit, then click return when you're finished and it should update. I hope I've explained that right!

xx

Thank you, I will take a look there in a minute!

We're going to the Olu Deniz/Hisaronu area of Turkey, staying here in a villa TIME TO GO TO ORKA CLUB HOTEL & VILLAS

So excited, 10 days of sunshine in July! Lots for the kids to do too hopefully! :)

Just need to make sure I am comfortable in my clothes for when we go, we also have a posh family wedding in Cheshire end of August so once I get back from holiday I still need to continue for that!

Today's lunch - big salad!

Today's dinner - bolognaise with courgette "spaghetti".

Need to do a food shop tomorrow as running low on a few things!

Hellooooo! I'll pop to your diary once you restart. How are you? X

Hi hun I started up my diary again this afternoon :)
I'm good thanks had a chaotic few months but things are better now

how you finding your new pump when I was at my daughters thyroid clinic a few weeks ago they were sorting out diabetic pumps then (do they attach to the arm ) I could be wrong and maybe it was something else but got the general gist that they were to help regulate blood sugars x

They can attach to tummies, arms, bottoms, thighs! It's via a tiny cannula. You might have seen CGM's being fitted though too, think they often go on arms, and they are to track blood glucose over a 24 hour period...often useful for children or pregnant women.

An insulin pump is used instead of multiple daily injections, just a different way to deliver insulin really rather than via pen injections - much more precise and more flexible, especially for children. It's a big learning curve for me but getting there slowly!

It's pretty common for people with Type 1 to have thyroid issues and vice versa, both are autoimmune and for some reason often seem to go hand it hand. How old is your daughter?

Ahhhhh yes that makes sense that could be if they were only young kids !!

My daughter is 4 we found out end off last year she had Hashimoto's thyroiditis it's an autoimmune disease and whilst having lots off tests they found she had coeliac disease too so we've been on a learning curve too which is why Sw has not been on my mind.
The thyroid is still not under control and is damaged but she's still too young to really do any treatment so she's regularly monitored in clinic and has blood tests every 4-6 weeks once her thyroid reaches a certain level they will try and start some kind off treatment.
She over produces hormones too so they need to be careful with medication.
The coeliac has been hard work but easier now were used to it and know what were doing x

Autoimmune things suck so much - why does the body attack itself?! Makes me cross my body did that to itself, LOL. I am check for thyroid and coeliac regularly too, aswell as plenty other things! At least with coeliac there is much more choice available now - albeit more expensive normally. Glad you are getting your head around it now, it can't be easy with a little one. My daughter is 4 too, and my son is 7. :)
