Congrats on the scales this morning...I know how much that will have cheered you up!
Hope you had a wonderful fish & chip evening and oh love a mince pie or two!! I had my first one at the birthday party a couple of weeks ago.

Yes thank you we all had a great time although I could only eat half my fish and chips but I managed 4 slices of bread and butter !!

It was a lovely lovely evening and in the end there were 12 of us which was a nice number.

Scales were slightly up this morning but not as much as I thought they would be

No it was a mixture of all the social team my consultant our old consultant and some group members whom have been going a long time.
One of the girls held it in her house so she could only invite a few and obviously only a trusted few

We are having a taster night in class week before Christmas for the whole group

When my c says we're having a taster session...people groan? very strange...maybe because it's a morning session? But there again I don't think she can please them sometimes! lol.

Everyone loves taster sessions but very few people seem to contribute unfortunately.
I usually make 3 or 4 dishes but they're always veggie or fish so stuff I can eat !

I always contribute too. Maybe that's what I should do...make more things so I get to eat some things too.

Today has been a planned day off plan as is tomorrow Monday and possibly Tuesday as we have a final long weekend off before Christmas.

Food today

Cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels . The bagels are from New York.

Mince pie

Garlic bread with cheese and spinach gnocchi bake made using a 4 cheese sauce

Chocolate

I'm sure you'll have a very enjoyable time. Takes the pressure off when you know you're not weighing in too.

Oh it will be great we are going to the Good Food Show on Birmingham tomorrow and staying over night.
Lots of free food and drink samples tomorrow. And we buy stuff to eat in our hotel later.

We go most years and it is a real treat to ourselves. We use tesco club card vouchers for the tickets.

So a big hotel breakfast is planned for Monday

Hence the weekend off plan !

I've seen the show advertised but never been. Hotel breakfasts are lovely when they have a really wide choice of foods. And I've stayed in plenty like that!! lol.
Talking about Birmingham, my brother in law has been known to fly in from CA to see people at an exhibition and then takes the next flight back!

We have probably been to at least 10 shows over 15 years maybe more.
It is our pre Christmas treat.

The best year was the year kettle crisps exhibited as they just kept filling up the bowls !!

There is always lots of cheese samples and olive oil and dip samples plus your favourite Mrs Crimbles always have a huge stand with savoury one side and sweet the other side and everything is usually sold at discount like 5 items for £5 etc

Oh I love Mrs Crimbles foodies!! Maybe I'll have to go one year...would take some planning. I think they have one in London too?

CA...California...well, San Francisco (SF) actually...still a long hike!

Yes they do have a London one now it used to only be Birmingham but it has expanded and they also have a Glasgow one

It is a real fun day out

Gosh that is a long hike. That's where we would like to go next when we go to America - San Francisco as neither of us have been before.

It's Joseph's young brother, he emigrated to Canada as a young accountant when he was in his early 20's. He had to be married to take the job so asked a girl he knew if she'd marry him! She said yes! lol. But they didn't like the cold weather so then moved down into the States and finally the Bay area. They've lived there for many years now. Joseph's been there but I've never been to the west coast.
His wife has a business and they travel a lot to Japan to view stock etc. Just jet setting people really. They do the trade fairs in NY too.

Thank you both we had a wonderful time as always

We left about 9am and got to the show just after 11 as we managed to check into the hotel as our room was ready.

Yes lots of nibbling and tasting loads of free samples of oils cheeses chutneys dips and other stuff.

We also saw the Hairy Bikers show as you get to see 1 show as part of the ticket price and they were hilarious

Our haul most of which was from the 7 goodie bags we got given at the end and some stuff we bought

Hotel breakfast in a minute then we'll drive home

Oh Jaffa...that haul looks really good!! I recognise some of those brands from when I used to have a subscription to Vegankind boxes. Glad you had a lovely time and enjoy that breakfast!
