LoChan's diary - hello!

I've had a good cry this evening watching some shows on youtube, in particular an Extreme Makeover weight loss episode about a man called Tony. He had an amazing story and it really moved me :eek:

It's inspired me even more that this is a journey I really want to see through to the end this time and I bookmarked the video to watch again in future when my resolve is slipping.

I'm not sure if we're allowed to post non-minis links on the forum anymore but if anyone fancied watching it and doesn't mind a good cry then the episode should pop up on youtube if you look for Extreme Makeover weight loss tony (it's S2 Ep1)

Another show that had a similar effect on me a few months ago was the british version of the programme Obese A Year to Save My Life - Liz's story in particular. I think they are being reshown on Sky atm for those who have it and like these kind of shows :)

Anywho, enough mush from me, on to the food diary :D

Hi there! Here to subscribe xx

Hello and welcome! I shall come visit your diary tom'ow to say hello properly :D

Off to bed now, night folks xx

we had a mother and daughter childminding team locally too until recently, it was good for the kids as the increased numbers meant there was always someone to play with. The mother gave up a few months back though so the daughter works alone now.

it's a good idea having those things hung up in your room, I keep meaning to dig out some of my favourite smaller things to do the same, but haven't got around to it yet.

Oh and you're a good bit younger than me so wouldn't worry lol x

I know I'm daft but I really am fretting over turning 30 next year lol

I suppose having my son start high school in September and finding my first grey hair a couple of months ago has added to the irrational fear  With a bit of luck though I'll be closer to 15st than 25st for the 'big' birthdayand that'll be a nice way to start a new decade :)

I've been shopping again today, first on ebay and then in a few shops around town and I may have gone a little overboard  Will post pics of the things I bought in Manc a little later, need to go hide the receipts in my knicker draw to keep the O/H in blissful ignorance, so shhhhhh lol

Day 5 of the squat challenge completed, 70 squats in total today. Core muscles, ACTIVATE!! :D

You are hardcore!!

Your food diary look heavenly! Really don't worry about turning 30. I'm 32 this year, and I have to say the last two years have been the happiest. I have felt that since turning 30 I have felt much more self assured. (Also I've been grey since I was 21 shhh lol) xx

I turned 40 back in March, it was a bit on a non event, my head is still 17, so I didn't even notice!

Oh more shopping, I haven't really had a chance to have a good rummage in the shops in Cairo, there does look to be a few half decent ones though that might be worth some attention!

Standing by waiting on pics! I love the top and the bag, red is definitely one of my colours, being ghostly white and dark haired! It's a mystery how I've managed to live in the desert for 6 years and still not get a tan!

I am 37 and some of my best memories have been during this decade! I have also had a few grey hairs since I was in my teens, few more now, but that's what hair dye is for! I have some bleached bits at the moment that had a semi permanent pink on top, now it's washed out I'm colouring them blue on Friday :) The rest of my hair is very dark, so it's a nice contrast.

Well done for keeping up with the squatts, look forward to seeing your purchases!!

I think that's it you know, I still feel like a teenager and with lots of things happening in the last couple of years it seems like I'm supposed to 'grow up' now and I don't like the idea of that lol

Ooh, you're lucky with the pale complexion/dark hair combo, vibrant colours must look so striking on you :) Heehee do you get approached a lot in Cairo being so untannable?

I'm getting my mum to dye my hair red soon - I had bright pink hair matched with pink and black stripy tights when I was doing my gcses way back when lol

I do have things to look forward to in my 30s - should be getting married, travelling to Japan again when I lose the weight and hopefully having more babies. So I can see the positives, if I make myself stop and think about it :)

Shopping stuff - first bought some matryoshka russian doll pyjamas, really bright and cute:
Dolly PJs.jpg

Then got this top - size 22/24, a little clingy but should fit nicely in a few weeks:
Geeky top.jpg

It's perfect for me: it's black, I am an actual 'geek' and I do wear purple/pink glasses :D Got some black joggers for circuit class but they're not interesting enough to photograph lol

Lastly I got another bag  Pink one this time:
Girly backpack.jpg

Rucksack to use for gym/exercise class days and hopefully for swimming gear too when I'm ready to brave the pool again :)

Also nabbed some bargains on ebay with three tunic/dresses and some purple leggings, will pic those when they turn up in the post :D

Growing up is over rated, don't bother with it!

Unfortunately I get a lot of bother here, I try not to be too negative about Egypt, but it's in the dark ages for women, it's a bit difficult for me to go out on my own the men just don't take no for an answer, unfortunately I am stuck in the house most days until the weekend and hubs is here to take me places, still need to get a driver organised and maybe I can get a bit more independence.

Love your new shopping bits, the PJ's and ruck sack are super cute, 22/24 is a great one if you are close to fitting it, and youa re dead right to buy stuff as I held on to my favourite size 32 trousers until I was 19 stone and they fell down in the middle of Glasgow when I was running for the bus!

I'm sorry I shouldn't laugh at the trouser/bus incident.... but I did  Hope it is nothing but a distant memory now x

Love the purchases, jammies look comfy. Food looks good too x

They are really comfy and quite cool too which is good. It's been around 26C in Manc for the past three days with a mediterranean blue sky today, tis most peculiar! lol

I should elaborate they fell down to my ankles just as the bus driver opened the door to let me on

Oh my! I hope it was a short bus ride, I don't think I would have lived that down

I'm a size 30/32 atm on the bottom half, don't really have any favourite trousers though. A few skirts I own I would probably like to keep and have taken in if I can find someone to do it for me or find the time to learn how to do it myself :)

Been randomly reading up on the 8 hour diet a little bit today so I'm going to go to bed early tonight and planning a lie-in too if possible as a last ditch attempt of getting a loss this week lol

My own fault for peeking so often this week but if I do get a gain it will be difficult to not be disappointed, this is the first week I haven't had a single blip/binge day and with the exercise thrown in too... grr bodies are complicated things sometimes!

Food diary for Thursday (EE Day 35)

B: Cherries, cherry danio yog (2.5), hifi bar (hexb).

L: Subway chicken teriyaki (3 syns), salad & merchant gourmet harissa couscous (4 syns).

D: Doner burger, potato wedges, roasted mediterranean veg.

S: Apple & elderflower ice lolly (3.5 syns), cheese (hexa) with ryvita crispbreads (6 syns).

Daily water challenge - 2x 500ml brita bottle refills + 500mls iced herbal tea. Going to try and glug a further 500mls with the brita bottle before bed.

Day 6 of squat challenge completed = 75 squats. I really felt them today, wasn't really in the mood after work but got them out of the way as soon as I came home :)

No shopping today lol

do you go to a group or are you doing it online? I think you need to make sure you have a great set at home if it is your weigh in tool, so many tales of people on here fluctuating so much but then being fine at their groups.

No shopping? are you feeling ok? lol

Great going with the water and squatts :) I haven't heard of the 8 hour diet.... but I am sceptical about anything working longterm. It needs to be something a person can actually stick too, I am quite impressed with sw for that reason. For the first time in ages I have been really excited by food, and can imagine being able to stay on this.
