Lynne: Low Carb Fan

Woooo, HI!!! Man, you're sounding positive today! I am OK, floundering a little, but still here. How are you??? :bighug:

Cold weather is a pain - but it has its charms too - and when spring starts to happen, it's such a lovely transition, my fav time of year.

But do shout if i need to get you one of the Big Slippers from the catalogues they always have in the Sunday Times! :D

Hi Lynne:). Lol Susie on the slippers
Talking of slippers, i must admit to wearing those old fashion velvet shoe like ones always round the house - hate cold feet. They are on my standard packing list even when we go stay with friends! cold feet club anyone?
Xxx

I was the kid with chilblains and chapped ankles. My circulation is tragic, LOL! I have thick socks, knitted slippers and as long as my feet are warm, I am OK. But if my feet get cold, the rest of me soon follows. I have thick fleece socks which are a dream and fleece trousers. They are a really lovely snuggly experience. I never knew that I would move to Turkey and end up with such a stock of warm clothes, LOL!! Thanks for the offer of a Bigfoot slipper Susie, but I think I would probably go A over T in it, LOL!

I always wear memory foam slippers round the house - but always stick my feet out of bed or I just get too hot, couldn't bear wearing socks to bed! Always been like that :)

My feet are OK in bed as long as they were warm before I got in bed. I used to have my computer in a cold place and I would go blue. DH said it was like getting in bed with a corpse!! LOL!. Then I would wear socks in the hope I would warm up. Had an electric blanket too. Now is great, laptop, in livingroom and a panel heater in bedroom, no need for electric blanket, I am a happy bunny. But during the day, we don't have the heating on, the feet sometimes suffer.....

I always have cold feet too and warm the bed up before I get in. I wear crocs with socks around the house. Memory foam ones sound great, never seen them. :)

Hi Lynne, feeling chilly tonight and dreaming of my leccie blanket! :)

I think I am hooked on my fleece trousers. If I see the sun and put on plain jersey trackpants, I end up regretting it and changing into cosy fleece. I never was very tolerant of cold, and nothing has changed. No, that's wrong, I havent got chilblains and eczema ankles, split and bleeding. Aah, the good old days.....

I have a friend who has embarked upon Low Carbing. I am amazed at how much info I have been able to provide him. He knew that Low Carbing made sense, but is over the moon at how much he is enjoying the food, while losing weight. I am glad to be able to help him. In 11 years of being a Low Carb fan (though not necessarily following the plan rigidly), he is the only person who had followed the WOE after talking with me about it. Though I have got a friend who a couple of years ago, decided to try Harcombe and was most impressed). So that is two friends, but I dont count her because she started Low Carbing without me knowing. What was great about that was that she came to me and said that she had thought I was mad to do Low Carb and now she knows I was right and not talking a load of twaddle (OK she didnt actually put it like that, but that was the essence), LOL.

I am still Low Carbing, but not being strict enough. Weight is fluttering up and down like a butterfly (apt seeing as that's the theme of my ticker...).

I suggested he tried something I had done, which was to adapt the mim mix as a pizza base, which he is tried and now says he wants me to have his babies.....

I use the basic mim mix (twice the amount), but remove the sweetener and put in salt and pepper (maybe grated parmesan). I put it into the oven in a non stick small frying pan and bake just long enough that it is risen a bit and slightly set. Take out, top with various toppings (to taste) and bung back into oven. Turns out well. BTW, as a matter of interest, a Turkish pizza is called a Pide, and the difference is that it hasnt got the tomato paste on the base. Try it, it lowers the carbs and still tastes good. My fave is spicy sausage, cheese, peppers, mushrooms a little onion and chopped tomato.

Hi lynne, well done on your "conversion" - feels pretty good doesn't it! I only have one that i know - a good friend that i just mentioned it too because we were camping in france together so they were all stuffing bread in..... Not interested in low carb but started with primal...realised that no bread was good, now thinks sugar is evil:)

Interestingly every time we meet she thanks me - she is 50ish and reckons she has had fat sat on legs/thighs since 16 but otherwise fit/healthy (actually works outside/manual so its not an exercise issue). Since she went low carb it's "melting off". Slow but very sure. Love the kick i get when she is happy:)
X

One thing he said today is that he used to have to take a LOT of Gaviscon. He realises he isnt using it now. I am the same. When I eat Low Carb, I dont need Bisodol at bed time. Its SO good when people can tell you so many positives about a WOE that you wanted them to try, eh :)
