Minerva's on a mission!!

Official, unofficial... Who cares! Absolutely great, well done.

I really like that dress, just the sort of thing I'd love to wear. I am too scared to aim for a dress. Also my arms are wrecked from weight loss and gain, lots of overhang near the elbows, so no sleeveless clothes are possible, even when at my slimmest :(

Aw Lottie!! Dresses don't have to be scary! In fact, I found the ones with a 'free' hip section are really flattering for a bigger bum/hip area (like mine) ... so think: Jive Dresses | Swing Dresses | Rockabilly Dresses with a petticoat. I live in these!! Yes - they DO make the bum/hip area look bigger, but it's a double effect - it makes the waist look smaller and any bigness/lumpiness is hidden by the fabric.
I said no to jeans and trousers a loooonggg time ago and feel better for it. No more lumps - they're just nicely covered by a dress. :D
These New Look Jersey dresses are also extremely comfortable (Black Bird Print 3/4 Sleeve Skater Dress) I always wear it with a petticoat. :)

As for arms - I hear you. I have bingo wings galore (which I ABSOLUTELY HATE) and other arm issues - meaning I always have to wear long sleeves, so a nice long cardigan is always at hand. :D

Woohoo! Well done on reaching the milestone!
And I love the dress. Kelly Brook is one of my clients in the spa (I shouldn't be disclosing that info but what the hell) and she is one of the loveliest and the most beautiful girls I've seen.
I'm sure come summer if we ever get one you'll look amazing in it! :)

Ooh! That's pretty exciting! :D I do like some of her designs, but they're a little girly for me on the whole ^.^ At least it's not nauseatingly cutesy like Cath Kidston, so that's always a plus ;)

I have to say, that pattern reminded me of Russian head scarves, I'm really hoping I can pull the dress off, it's more body-huggy than I'm used to... but, in a size 12, it should look ok. :) Here's to hoping .. O_O

Those dresses make me feel a bit sad . I had wanted to be slim enough for a 50s tea dress for my wedding... Needless to say it never happened. Silly I know, we got married for love but I do regret being so fat on my wedding day :(

Sorry Lottie, I didn't mean to make you feel sad :(

I'm sure you looked STUNNING on your wedding day, remember size doesn't detract from beauty!
A tea dress is very flattering, any size and shape can wear it. :)

Im back!

How are you getting on this week back on packs, honey?

Those dresses are so cute....but I have a bit of the same problem that you have with your arms, Minerva..on my legs. Heh. Not terrible as it was a short-ish lived period of time in my life but yeah...a bit. But they are super cute dresses and I know what you mean about the visual effect. Lovely!

Hope you have a lovely day :D

Aw Kelly :hug99: Thank you :) It's not a nice thing, but it's part of life I guess. A learning experience. Unfortunately mine lasted for many years and while friends and family don't bat an eyelid anymore; makes the workplace really stressful sometimes. Meh!

I'm doing ok back on the packs, feeling a bit more hungry/drained than expected. It can't be carb withdrawal, because I had less carbs per day last week than the packs actually provide! I am REALLY craving a really bad round greasy thing (been craving it for a few days now), not giving in though!!! I mean, technically I know I'm not in "Diet Prison". Lol. I know I can get back to plan 100% the next day (as I'd done it in the past). But it's pretty hard battling with such a deep desire for something unhealthy :p part of me just thinks, get the craving out - if it's more than just 1 day of wanting, then maybe the body actually needs it. Maybe I'm just making excuses because no one needs something super unhealthy ever! xD Hah. we're all human though, life happens. :D

I've rambled... <_< *slaps self*

I love how you manage to talk yourself out of doing it!
And no. Your body doesn't need anything greasy and unhealthy. It's your head that wants it! I totally know how that feels. Maybe because you feel you've been 'good' for so long now you need a bit of a change and a different sensation in your tastebuds.
No doubt I will find myself in this situation more than once sooner or later and what is like to try and do is think of how eating whatever it is I crave will make me feel? Would I feel satisfied and proud of my choice? Or would overcoming the urge feel like an amazing achievement?!
I hope I'll be strong enough to make the right choice and I wish you the same my love :)

See...I always think twice if a craving stays with me for more than a couple of days. Whether the body needs it or not...I usually just give in and have a bit of whatever it is to get it out of the way. That said, ive not had a craving like that (other than my silly cheese sandwich cravings) while I was on a VLCD...so I dunno if I could just hop back on it. I know the first time I did this, I could have. Definitely. This time...i dunno! Haha.

Well, that was helpful, wasnt it? NOT!! haha. Sorry!

I hope your craving subsides, I've not had any yet, I really hope I wont and if I do I'll stay strong. Keep at it! we know you can do it ;) x

Aw. In, into the 12's wohooooooooooooo way to go! Well done on fighting the cravings and that dress is lovely, just you and great motivation as you WILL fit in it xx

Resisted my temptation. ... I had *almost* made the decision to give in this morning too! ... but... Slim_and_happy saved me. :D Thank you! I read your comment and it reminded me to be strong. I do usually evaluate my cravings and think to myself "Will X solve my problem? No." ... food's never worth the trouble - especially if it's going to make me feel bad. I even thought about the icky process of getting back into ketosis and the bloated feeling the next day. Bleugh. But this time, because it isn't emotional or in response to a problem, it was harder to resist. It was more ... "I deserve a break" sort of thing... realistically, nah. I'll keep going as I am. :)

As originally planned - my 'break' will come on May 31st, after my last exam, I fully plan to go out... and I'll hopefully be a stone lighter by then too!! So sod pizza now, it can bugger off, I want to be the next clothes size down by then!! The 14's!! :D :D :D

I'm over it now. Thanks everyone for your support. :D ... who knew food is so tempting ... and that our minds can whisper such sweet little lies in our ears how it's harmless... just this once... it won't hurt ... Pff...!!

x

I'm so pleased you've overcame the demon cravings lol. Your in the 12s never to see those pesky 13s again! Xxx

well done! You show those cravings who's boss! :asskick:

And you didn't make me sad, you made me reflect :) And it has led me to an even better place now, where I have something to look forward to instead of moping about what I didn't do in the past x

Lol, I had those damn cravings for nearly a week now too!! Doesn't sound like much on here, but you know how it is!!! Something calling your name for days on end. :p
Thanks you two. :D

I'm glad you're feeling more positive Lottie :D Having something to aim for reaaaalllyyyy helps with this diet... it's really NOT easy on some days - what gets me through is the desire to get to where I want to be. That is all. And if you have that goal in mind (wearing a size 14 on your Anniversary in August) then it will carry you through those moments when you feel like you want 'X' (whatever it may be).
We can do it!! :D :D :D

*high five!*

*thinks the Mac&Cheese food pack has made her slightly hyper* ... *cough* oh dear... o.o

doing great Minerva well done for ignoring that craving :D:D and love the dress, great idea to get it to aspire to fitting into :D

I'm also a 'free hip' dress gal - I don't wear trousers anymore, sometimes jeans, but as I'm a classic pear I'm all about the skirts and dresses, so much more flattering - especially as I'm short trousers don't do me any favours at all!! Although atm I'm rotating 3 dresses at work and weekends!! Don't want to buy any more clothes in this size

Mac and cheese? Where? How? I want some!

How are you today Minerva? Craving-free day I hope! My friend dropped off some chocolate last night, I have put it away for my hubby tomorrow, but I am VERY aware that it's there. It's not like I need it, more like it would be fun to have it. But I won't!

How do you do your porridge "just right"? I'm planning on one before bed as a late night treat.

Right, now that I'm on raid break I can explain...

Porridge - put the powder into the bowl first .. and veeerryyy slowly mix the boiling water in... I usually put some sweetner in there too. :) Then when it looks quite watery, put into microwave for a minute... BUT watch your porridge!! It may escape if not under supervision. :)

SnS used to have a Mac&Cheese pack, but they discontinued it... if you google "SML Diet" - they stock a Macaroni and Cheese which is identical to the one SnS used to have. Feel free to order and add in as a dinner option! It's very tasty!

And yes!! After I have myself a talking to yesterday - have been absolutely craving free!! :D

Lou! I'm sure you look better in a dress than I do...! Jeans are convenient, but I have a muffin top issue regardless of whether they're in my size or not... GRR! Dresses are just so much more flattering.. and the OH seems to like me in them better.. :D Added bonus.

Hi Slim :) I hope your day went well, I'll check in on your diary later!

I had an ok day, apart from having panic attacks over Land law exam material and how none of it seems to be sinking in at all... cravings are banished, after yesterday's decisive post, something laid to rest in my brain... no more thoughts of the forbidden item. :)

Blargh, Raid break is over - I'll catch up with all you lovely ladies either later or tomorrow morning

x
