Look what I found... Chapter 1 all over again Nikki lol x

Morning Mel I didn't realise you were posting back over here :)

I met a Newbie on the forum who is a young American Newly-Wed (MrsPayne) and as she does not have the posts to be on the Gold Forum, I thought I would reinvigorate this diary (and maybe go back to using it as a "What I am doing" motivator. I'll keep the Gold Diary going -- as that is where our confused.com peeps are posting (and the bus is touring)... plus, if something is more intense or personal I'll post it there.

I've just read your low carb/cd/south beach plan sounds well thought out.!
Keep me posted on how you are doing please.

It is what I did January through April -- and it worked pretty well. I think I averaged 2 pounds a week. And, I held my ow with the principle of it and Beck while in the 5th fattest city in the U.S on holiday (a STS). And,I continued to hold my own... even going to Mallorca in Mid-May (all-inclusive) for a mini-break.

Then I lost the plot and not only could not get back to losing mode (and planned fitness evaporated)... and from late May to early July I started to regain. So, joined WW more than 1/2 stone up... lost 3.5 pounds... quit going kept paying and when I went back 2 weeks ago I was 7 pounds heavier!

So, I am struggling to get back on track... this week was not 100% but it was better than last. And, I PLAN to do better next week. (I really need to use Beck.)

As I'm abusing ww lol over eating and not pointing, tracking on purpose. And I wonder why my weight isn't going down :(

Do you have the tracker on your Smart Phone? In the group I attended it seemed like the ladies that used that app did well with the tracking. They also had the point calculator app (or were accessing the site on-line).

And, they also tracked their "activity points" but did not "eat them". I think a few them seemed a bit "competitive" about who earned more.

You are usually very good about the fitness -- play to strengths. Try focusing on fitness with some rules about eating only AFTER working out and drinking a glass of water then waiting five minutes before sitting at a table to eat and keeping it to one plate.

Have a lovely weekend and thanx for your support xx

Morning Shanny-Bob!

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, too.

Morning Mel - hope you have a great day today. It's p-ing rain here, so won't feel guilty about not cutting the grass in the back - it's like a wilderness out there LOL

Pottering on here before getting the sewing machine out...... procrastination personified!

Morning Yvonne,

Sorry about the bad weather in Ireland... it is stunning here.

I am working on a sewing project myself -- altering curtains and making some things for my DD's room. I started a decoration of her room over three years ago, when she got a new bed. It was daybed, so it required a "special bedspread". But I was nver happy with the spread and thought we might be moving, so I left the curtains untouched. (The windows have pull down shades on them.)

But, after my DH extended in the Uk for three more years,I found a better daybed set (Laura Ashely) and I have finally (about four months later) dug out the curtains to do! (Fortunately, I bought solid ones and they match okay.)

Our garden needs cutting, and think DH may do that tomorrow -- I think it may too hot already today.

It is similar to my DD's bed. I'll take some photos of the room once I get the curtains up and post them. Her bed actually is a bit prettier, and I like her bedspread better. (She has almost that many pillows on it!) lol

lol aww i didnt realize that i was the reason youre on this diary! i feel so special! lol hope youre having a great day :)

Hi Mel - That bed is beautiful! A friend of mine (who's also American) has one just like that in her spare bedroom. She has spent the past 10 years or so making a beautiful patchwork quilt from various fabric that means something to her (baby clothes, prom dress, spare material from wedding dress etc). It's absolutey stunning and must be so nice to be able to tell a story about pretty much every piece of fabric!

Hope you have a lovely weekend! :)

Those are called Memory Quilts.

My daughter's Godmother (who is in her late 70's) has one she started in 1958, and only finished a few years ago. It was awesome to sit with her and have show me a piece a fabric from her baby blanket, her favourite school dress (made from a flour sack!), her prom dress, etc.

Hope you have a lovely weekend! :)
Thanks, you too.

Hi Alli,

It so so good hear from you. There is a museum in Bath that has an extensive collection of quilts. My MIL in the Catskill Quilters Hall of Fame. I have a few quilts she made.

The American Museum in Britain

I have save tons of things to make various quilts but have never even done a lap quilt. (Yet!)

What I am doing instead of eating... 01/10/11

Notice the cool date when written numerically? It is like binary code! ;)

Well, I have made myself my new Beck Rules -- one is I have to keep sipping water whilst on Minis (not coffee). And, I got a litre in catching up on diaries this morning! Whooha!

Then, I got another litre in when doing my WiiFit MyFitnessCoach workout I missed yesterday. And, as a penalty fro missing it, I made myself do a second 15 minute workout! lol

So, only one more litre to go. :)

I decided I had another new Beck Rule -- no breakfast until I workout! So, I am pretty hungry right now (that'll teach me to procrastinate... but I know that "Hunger is not an emergency" lol).

Time to have my oatmeal with slivered almonds and shower up. Then, I will go and return the vacuum... no seriously, I will. Then, DD wants to drive over to the Big Base (I call it "going to America") because there is a bazaar going on this weekend. :D I have a few things I could pick up there -- so, unless DH objects -- this may be the day's plan. Not making the most of the nice day -- but at least not hiding inside the house.

DD said it was too hot to ride her bike... so spoiled. She should try living in Florida. I remember playing softball in 104 degrees more than once! (On those days I would volunteer to catch, as the dug out was usually shady!)

I may have to hire you for some crocheting lessons... maybe you could teach both me and DD. She loves crafty stuff!

Went out with DH and DD, first we returned the defective vacuum (and got hassled -- so I am going to boycott Tescos for awhile). Then we went shopping on the big bases -- and I got an area rug 5' x 7' to roll out and protect the "fitted carpet" when I do my fitness Wii stuff. I also got the stuff needed to make the memory board thing for DD's room. And, because DD was hungry we ate the food court. I had a Chicken Taco Salad -- so, very CD810/1000/SB friendly. Both DD and DH had Baskin and Robbins ice cream cones dessert... and I "Strengthened my Resitance Muscle.";)

I also bought a couple of gifts -- but felt to fat to try on any of the clearance rack clothes! (I always scan those -- and get good deals most of the time.)

Of course, I had a look at the new Fossil handbags (I have an mild addiction to these) - they had beautiful purple and some lovely green ones.

I really like the new autumn colours, but I just bought a new handbag on September 19th -- so, as much as I was tempted I did not buy one. However, if they have one I really like the next time I go back, I may get one for "Christmas".

I liked this one, but it was over 100 pounds (not dollars!).

I have been looking at green ones for a long time. Decisions, decisions...

When I bought the last handbag, I made myself go through my handbags and get rid of two that had not carried in a long time. (I gave them to a friend -- one was a Liz Claiborne brown leather one, and the other was a black leather one -- I do not think it was designer, but it was good quality.) I have too much stuff -- I have hoarder tendancies! :8855:

i love the green one. i don't wear anything green. hubby hates the colour green, i quite like it. i had a green carpet in my old house and he refused point blank to get any shade of green in our new house. unfortunately our bathroom is green and cream. it's not nice though!

i would buy the bag if it were in a different colour!

i need to 'strengthen my resistance muscle too. my zumba instructor gave me a good idea..... she did this some some willing members of her class...

you get a piece of string, breath in and tie in around your waist. if you breath out it cuts into you so you have to keep your core tight all the time which tones up your abs.

sounds interesting but i'm too much of a woose to try it.

it's like going out in way too tight trousers it puts you off eating and everything. that might be worth a try though!

02/01/11 --

Morning!!! The sun is out, whooohooo!!!!

@Nikki,

The purple is the other fall colour (excuse me: eggplant). But, the bags are also usually available in the standard caramel and chocolate brown colours. (Notice how all the colour names are food related: shopping addictions get substituted for food addictions!)

Hummm, not sure a string would be the best idea. What about wearing one of those fitness slimming belts. I have worn one of those under my clothes (not in hot weather) when I had a back injury. It made me have better posture, and helped ease the strain on the lower back. (I am pretty sure it made me more thoughtful about what I ate, too.)

Yesterday,

I bought a flat brown 5 X 7 foot area rug to roll out the floor to use as my workout area (so now I will "fitness suit up" and "roll out my gym" lol.

I think I really needed a 6 X 8 foot rug, because I'll be stepping off the area for the "hustle up and back" -- but it'll do for now. (I got it on the base and it was only $25.00.)

Today,

ATM, I am taking my BBC prescribed anti-depression meds: 2 coffees and little sunshine :), and I'll get my first litre of water in whilst on Minis, then I'll suit up and do my Wii MyFitnessCoach for 30 minutes, and if Core on the Ball recorded correctly do that, as well.

After I work out I need to get some stuff done around the house (if possible), then I have to get ready to drive to London for the baby shower this afternoon/evening. the shower starts at 6 -- and I need to give myself at least 2 hours to get there, find the place and get parked. I am going to look it all up now and get a postcode, and look for parking in the area, etc.

I am going to drive the mum to be down and back -- so, that I can help her bring all the gifts home. It was my idea that I drive -- she wanted to go on the train together. Plus, she is very pregnant and a tiny person.

Morning Mel - hope you have a lovely day at the baby shower and manage to fit all the pressies in the car. How good of you to bring her there and back, nice to have the company too on a drive. Have fun chuck. xx
