MinnieMel is nolonger considers herself a CDer. One final post.

well shopping and cleaning would not something I would consider as productive. But starting monday, I'm planning on achieving greater things ;)

A lot more productive than sitting and waching the tele, eating, etc. You got out and about -- and that is a good thing.

hope it's been a productive day. :)

Morning,

Looking forward to another Indian Summer's day.

@Nikki -- Not as productive as I would like, but I can live with it. As this is a forum anyone can access, I will post in my other diary about my evening.

According to the FlyLady Friday is Clean out your car and handbag day. My handbag is good, but my car needs doing.

Especially since I am going to offer to drive a mother-to-be from here to London and back on Sunday. (We live about 70 miles north of the M25.) Some of her co-workers are throwing her a baby shower. A baby shower is a very American thing -- and she is an American married to an RAF officer. She works in London and so the party will be there. (If I drive, then I can transport the gifts back.)

In all liklihood, I am going to be the only guest over 40 -- as matter of fact -- the mother of the future mum is about my age! And, the only person I am likely to know is the mum to be, but its all about her, anyway! It should be fun, it is a "tea party" themed thing. Pretty dresses, and I think they are getting hats for all of us to wear (at least for the photos).

Hi Mrs PP --

I know that they googled some of the games, and I have one or two I might suggest... but I am not a huge fan of those anyway! ;) However, I will bring the paper plate, ribbon and tape to make the hat out of gift bows! LOL

aww lol im at the age where all of my friends back home are starting to have kids and ive missed all the baby showers :( of course ones that i wouldve really looked forward to going to lol

You are at an age where the new friends that you make here will be having babies and you can arrange the baby showers - and start a trend!

lol i could even make up some crazy stuff and me like "trust me.. its totally traditional" lol theyll never know

Now, you're thinking? ;)

Did you know that there is a Minis meet up scheduled for Birmingham on October 22nd? Here's the link:

I am so bummed I can't make it, as it is so close. I will be on my Mothers' Mental Health Trip to Corfu.

kool ill look into it.. lol its funny how close stuff is in our minds, cause america/even just a state on its own is so much bigger compared to the uk lol. a 2 hour drive here is far, and to me that used to be just the trip to take to disneyland lol. and i used to go there or the beach on a whim back then lol

So true, so true... when I was in high school we'd like very little out of leaving school and driving 3 hours to go to a concert on a Friday, not getting home until the wee hours of Saturday. Now, I complain if I have to drive 20 miles to go somewhere.

Is that the countries are smaller so the distances seem greater? In the U.S. I lived 14 miles from the nearest cinema. It was no big deal for my dad to drive to the movies, sit and work at a fast food place with a cup of coffee, then drive us home afterwards.

I saw this and thought of my friend with the son troubles:
