the carbonara was bloomin lovely!!! VERY creamy. i've tried using quark and all the other 'free' things to make a creamy sauce but i find they're always sour tasting and feel gritty on my teeth. i can't recommend philidelphia enough. can't wait to have it again!
 
The first time I bought some I tried it straight from the pot and thought "Yuk, how could this ever enhance a recipe?!"
 
Saturday 16.01.10 - Green

i've just slept for 12 hours and i'm still tired. been awake for 2 and already contemplating a power nap!!! guess that's what days off are for! :)

BRUNCH: pasta with pesto (2 syns) and grated cheese (hexa)

LUNCH: quorn bacon sandwich (hexb) with brown sauce (0.5 syns)

DINNER: jacket potato, beans and cheese (hexa)

SNACKS: 2 american hard gums (2 syns), beef space raiders (3.5 syns) ...went to kebab shop at 2am and had pitta bread (7.5 syns), houmous (5 syns) and salad

SYNS: 20.5 - whoops!

Karen, I am crap at getting my fruit and veg intake so I have got a new strategy. I know it's more expensive but I buy the kids packs from Asda, 3 for £1, and take them to work. I get the bags of carrots and get the small pots of dairylea to dip them in. Great snack and only 80 calories for the lot!
 
good idea taz. i'm normally pretty good with it but was having a very lazy day yesterday and couldn't be bothered to spend any more than 30 seconds in the kitchen.

i went out last night and was so hungry at 2am that i ended up with a salad and humous in a pitta from the kebab shop. talk about damage limitation and it's tasted bloomin lovely!!! glad i avoided the cheesy chips and pizzas on offer!

actually - i managed to squeeze salad into the menu after all!!!
 
Sunday 17.01.10 - Green

went out last night and woke up at lunchtime so missed breakfast due to being unconcious! got up ate and slept some more!

BRUNCH: 3 egg scrambled egg (made with water), 2 x quorn sausages, baked beans, w/m toast (hexb) and ketchup (1 syn)

DINNER: pasta bolognaise (made with beanfast, mushrooms and a tin of chopped tomatoes) with grated cheese (1 hexa and 1 hexb)

SNACKS: 4 x pink panther wafers (8 syns)

SYNS: 9 syns

Monday 18.01.10 - Green

BREAKFAST: 2 x alpen lights (hexb), banana and 2 x satsumas

LUNCH: homemade scotch broth (made with potatoes, carrots, leeks, onion, lentil, barley and veg stock)

DINNER: leftover pasta bolognaise (made with beanfast, mushrooms and a tin of chopped tomatoes) with grated cheese (1 x hexa) and a lettuce, beetroot and tomato salad

SNACKS: quorn sausage sandwich (hexb) and ketchup (1 syn), take a break biscuit (5.5 syns), 2 maltesers (1 syn) and s&v french fries (4.5)

SYNS: 12 syn

Tuesday 19.01.10 - Green

LUNCH: homemade scotch broth (made with potatoes, carrots, leeks, onion, lentil, barley and veg stock)

DINNER: falafel (3 syns), w/m pitta (hexb), lettuce, tomato, pepper and extra light mayo (0.5 syns)

SNACKS: sherbert fountain (4.5 syns), syn free microwave crisps

i used the slicer to slice the potato then lay them out on a chopping board, sprayed lightly with frylight and salted them, then put them on the little carousel tray thingy.

on the box it says microwave for 4-5 mins but i did mine for 7 minutes....nice and crispy!
 
Wednesday 20.01.10 - Green

BREAKFAST: puffed wheat (hexb) with skimmed milk (hexa) and sweetener - yum :)

LUNCH: cheese and onion sandwich (cheese (hexa), w/m bread (hexb), extra light mayo (0.5 syn), onion, lettuce, tomato) and syn free microwave crisps

DINNER: small quorn cottage pie (3 syns) and beans

SNACKS: big bowl of 0% greek yogurt mixed with 2 sachets of Cadbury's highlights (4 syns) and some sweetener - it was bloody filling!

SYNS: 7.5 syns
