MWWWD (or Moonwatcher's Weight Watchers Diary!)

Monday 22nd September.

Gave in a bit last night as I was quite hungry - not just 'fancying' something. I wanted something instant though, so grabbed a couple of slices of ham and a handful of crisps (probably nearer two handfuls actually).

This morning the scales were up by 2.8 lbs, but I am OK with that. I have had several days eating over my TDEE this weekend, and quite a bit of snacky food. Also the reset is about the longer term picture - not the daily ups and downs. I expected to gain some over this two month period, and I think it is quite likely I'll see some more ups and downs over the next 7 weeks.

Today's food

Breakfast - 1 slice of Genius gluten free seeded loaf, with butter, as soldiers for 2 soft boiled eggs (AKA dippy eggs and soldiers), one and a half cups of earl grey tea with s/s milk

Morning tea-break - 1 Mrs Crimble's coconut macaroon with a cup of earl grey and milk

Lunch - 2 more slices of the Genius bread made into a sandwich with cheddar and Branston pickle, another macaroon, one small moccacino from machine at work

Went food shopping straight from work, as finally my headache had subsided, and restocked on fruit and veg and a few gluten free goodies, plus some salmon, chicken drumsticks, ham, chorizo, cheese, Nakd bars, all the essentials! Picked up some swede halves (very big ones) reduced to 9p each! Have got pork and beef in the freezer from the local butchers last week (2 hands of pork for about £5.50 and two rolled brisket of beef for £11 - all decent sizes, so some roast dinners are on the menu this week)

Anyway back to today - snack in the car on Morrison's car park - 1 Nakd Cashew Cookie bar and a slice of ham (not together!)

Dinner after unpacking the shopping, and doing some washing and ironing, - 3 rashers bacon, one gluten free sausage, tomatoes, chestnut mushrooms, fried egg, followed by a Morrison's gluten free ginger cake slice, warmed with custard, one gala apple.

Other drinks - water, two sips of OH's cider

Total calories - 2164, 4 calories over TDEE. Plenty of food there for the calories.

Very tired today - night night all.

What a fantastic days food :) Im loving the sound of Swede Halves for 9p, I knew you was in Morrissons as our one always reduces them to 9p too, Sainsbury's and Asda it's always 5p or 10p! Glad to hear that your headache has subsided, did you manage to get a good nights rest? X

Yes thanks Serena, I slept really well last night. Headache is still hovering in the background but OK. Hope you are taking it easy this evening.

Tuesday 24th September

Weight this morning down quarter of a pound after going up by 2.8 lbs yesterday. Am interested to see what happens on the scales this week at 2160 calories a day for the second week.

Breakfast - gluten free cornflake cereal with milk and sweetener

Mid morning - cocoa orange Nakd bar and a coffee with milk

Lunch - 2 slices genius gluten free seeded bread made into a sandwich with a gluten free sausage, cheddar and smoky bbq HP sauce, cherry tomatoes, gluten free apricot jam tart, white grapes, small gala apple, lemon and ginger tea,

After work - one coffee with cream and a Mrs Crimble's coconut macaroons

A bit later - 3 slices of deli ham with a smear of mustard

Dinner - had planned to have moussaka tonight but OH has been sick all day and couldn't face any food, so pinged a potato in the microwave and had it with tuna, low fat salad cream, chopped jalapenos and pickled beetroot, followed it by black grapes.

Other drinks - water, one tea with s/s milk

Still got some calories left (!) so am just about to finish the evening off with some greek yogurt, maple syrup and a sprinkling of chopped mixed nuts.

Total calories for the day 2167/2160

Loving the sound of your Jacket Potato combo, I eat Jalapeño with everything at the moment!!! Great News about the Scales :) Are u a Daily Weigher? X

I love jalapenos - I buy the big jars in vinegar for a pound, from Poundland or the local discount shops.

I have always weighed regularly - not always every day as I liked to monitor how certain foods affect me, then if I had a mysterious gain I could sometimes see what may have caused it. Didn't weigh every day though as sometimes just didn't think about it. At the moment I am weighing most mornings to see what is going on through the reset. I am not expecting or aiming for a loss over the reset - it should be a STS or gain overall.

Hope u didn't mind me asking about WI, was just curious! I can't have Scales in the house, my obsessive personality just makes it impossible to function with them in the house! I need to get me some more Jalapeño but all ( and I mean ALL) the poundys round here have run out, gutted.com! I have enough to last me though tomorrow and then god knows What I'm gonna do, shock horror! X

No, don't mind you asking at all! I'm lucky I suppose, as although I often choose to weigh in the mornings, some days I forget or just don't bother. I have even forgotten a couple of times on WI days! I think if it was getting to be compulsive I would do the same as you and ban them from the house - very sensible.

In this house running out of chillis is as disastrous as running out of cheese! I feel your chilli pain!

I need to try and search out some Jalapeño today, it's not good if there's a national shortage!!! I pay my 50p to the Leisure Centre every Friday, it's still cheaper than Meetings but it does prevent the 'I've been asleep lets weigh, I've been to the toilet lets weigh, I've eaten lets weigh' That really was no good for my mental health!!! X Hope u have a good day Sweetie.x

I really need to get rid of my scales. I weigh about 3 times a day, every day. Just after waking up, sometimes after lunch and usually before bed. Sometimes I weigh even more than that :( it does my head in! But mum uses them too so I can't just get rid, and I only went and bought a new set for Dave's so I'll be weighing there too :( I think I'll keep them in my wardrobe to make it harder.

Great use of calories over the last couple of days :) I especially like the inclusion of the apricot jam tart at lunch time. Mmmmmmm.

Its really difficult weighing when you aren't expecting a loss isn't it? I have been a daily weigher for years but during the reset and now I will have some days when I don't weigh because I forget or just don't feel like it. Much more relaxed about what the scales say which is really nice.

Hi all,

Sorry not been about much, but both the OH and I have been ill with this weird virus that seems to be doing the rounds here. Stomach cramps, sickness, dizziness and generally feeling like every joint in your body has been run over by a steamroller about sums it up! Came home from work yesterday and slept pretty much through from 4.00 pm to alarm time this morning! Food been almost non existent yesterday as struggled to eat. Will be a bit better today as just about to have roast beef with mash, peas and gravy. It was going to be a full roast jobbie, but we really cannot face 'proper' veg. Will update food properly later.

Food for yesterday, Wednesday 25th September. Woke up feeling queasy.

Breakfast - cornflakes, milk and sweetener, earl grey tea with s/s milk.

Mid morning - cocoa orange Nakd bar and coffee with s/s milk

Lunch - 2 pieces gluten free fibre bread, cheddar cheese and salad sandwich, cherry tomatoes, gluten free ginger cake, a few grapes. Feeling quite sick by now - had to force the sandwich down as the cheddar seemed so greasy. Gave up by the fruit course!

In the evening - greek yogurt with nuts and a little brown sugar, small portion of cornflakes with milk and a drizzle of cream, soft brown sugar, one and a half twirl fingers (not a very healthy choice, but all I could face)

Other drinks - just water

Total calories for the day 1601 - way below TDEE level, but the most I could manage.
