Well bit of an update, haven't been posting what I've been up to.
Went to the gym on Tuesday for my induction and then did about 45 mins working out, Tuesday I followed CD for the day until after the gym when I came home and had mackeral and salad. Wednesday, I started calorie counting and using my net diary app again. Total kcal was about 2500kcals, so more than it should have been, but still less than I had been having daily. Today I went to Zumba and according to my polar watch burnt about 400kcals, then went to the gym and burnt a further 450kcal. Total calorie intake for the day was about 1500kcal. Consisting of weetabix for breakfast, lettuce, cucumber, low fat potato salad, cottage cheese and chicken. Nothing for tea as been out all evening, but a couple of pears and banana to snack on.
I went to Zumba and was really, really dissapointed. I didn't feel like I had achieved anything, although I burnt a good chunk of kcals, I didn't work up a sweat and I didn't get out of breath. Accordingly to watch polar watch, I only spent 12 of the 70 minutes in my zone (145+ bmp). The class was packed, there must have been 50 people in there, it was only a small studio. I couldn't get anywhere near the mirrors, so had no idea what I was actually doing. Couldn't see the instructor so didnt know what was going on, was just trying to follow the people in front of me, which were all going in different directions. It was very, very fast and all the moves were small and close. All the videos I have seen have been high energy, but big, large simple moves. I genuinely felt like I just spent most of the time stood on the spot flapping. Came out feeling very dissapointed and like I had completely wasted £6.50.
Which is why I went to the gym on the way home, I turned down the gym with Scott for Zumba thinking I would get a more fun workout, but actually came out feeling like I had taken the lazy option.
