My Countdown - 20 Weeks to go!

it isn't kez. you need to re-educate yourself. even i need to re-educate my eating habits. it is very hard. at the end of the day scott's doing what he thinks might be best for him and maybe best for you but only you can decide what is best for you. dieting then loosing the plot isn't great and you know this. you need to decide hun, not him and not us.

Thanks nikki, I need to ponder and give the gym a couple of weeks to see how I get on. Even with my meal this evening, the rest of the days was 100% cd and scales are down 3lbs.

Well thats brilliant hun!! Just keep an eye on it, your body will tell you what it needs to do if you listen to it carefully, because it'll make you happy or miserable with what you're doing. Like Nikki said we can help and advise but you need to choose because its you thats doing it... (well we are too lol but you know what I mean - god I do give some bad advice). I'm off to bed before I talk you into eating like a pig until you're 72st. I sometimes joke that if it all gets too hard thats what I'm going to do, Sometimes I'm joking sometimes I'm worryingly serious about it.

Anyway, lots to think about hun, there's no hurry either! Good luck xxx

Oooops sorrrrrrry wrong person lol *hides

you're so funny surf. 72st..... i don't think any of us 3 would reach that weight.

i find cd is great for me. the lower plans i'm so focused and the higher plans i let loose a bit so i now need to re-educate my own eating and it is bl**dy hard. yesterday was supposed to be 1200 but i ended up counting 1604 cals eaten. opps. now to get back to 1200 focus. i find the cd book hard to follow at this stage and this is when i tend to think ww. at least there's a box to eat in.

i really do wish i could do this for you as i'm mega focused, really focused on the lower plans.

Well bit of an update, haven't been posting what I've been up to.

Went to the gym on Tuesday for my induction and then did about 45 mins working out, Tuesday I followed CD for the day until after the gym when I came home and had mackeral and salad. Wednesday, I started calorie counting and using my net diary app again. Total kcal was about 2500kcals, so more than it should have been, but still less than I had been having daily. Today I went to Zumba and according to my polar watch burnt about 400kcals, then went to the gym and burnt a further 450kcal. Total calorie intake for the day was about 1500kcal. Consisting of weetabix for breakfast, lettuce, cucumber, low fat potato salad, cottage cheese and chicken. Nothing for tea as been out all evening, but a couple of pears and banana to snack on.

I went to Zumba and was really, really dissapointed. I didn't feel like I had achieved anything, although I burnt a good chunk of kcals, I didn't work up a sweat and I didn't get out of breath. Accordingly to watch polar watch, I only spent 12 of the 70 minutes in my zone (145+ bmp). The class was packed, there must have been 50 people in there, it was only a small studio. I couldn't get anywhere near the mirrors, so had no idea what I was actually doing. Couldn't see the instructor so didnt know what was going on, was just trying to follow the people in front of me, which were all going in different directions. It was very, very fast and all the moves were small and close. All the videos I have seen have been high energy, but big, large simple moves. I genuinely felt like I just spent most of the time stood on the spot flapping. Came out feeling very dissapointed and like I had completely wasted £6.50.

Which is why I went to the gym on the way home, I turned down the gym with Scott for Zumba thinking I would get a more fun workout, but actually came out feeling like I had taken the lazy option.

Oh and polar watch says that at the gym, out of 50 mins I spent 30 in the zone, with my maximum going up to 178. Woohoo!

Oh no, it's such a shame you didn't get on well with zumba, it sounds like it's the fault of the instructor. Our class is packed but still have room to move and all see the instructor. It sounds to me like yours is cramming as many people as she can in, to make money! :( Ours has lots of big moves like the ones on YouTube!

Is that the only class in the area? It might be worth trying a different instructor before writing it off as a loss. Also I think £6.50 is a bit steep, mine is very cheap at £2.50 but most classes are between £3 & £4.

I used the Shape Up app to keep track of my calories when I was cal counting last year. It takes your exercise cals into account and keeps track for you. You seem in control with your app though. Keep up the fab work Hun xx

Yeah its good, it works out what your calorie intake should be, based on your details and basal rate and what weight you want to lose. Then you put the foods in and it tells you the calories and all the nutritional values, then gives you a report telling you good bits and bad bits. Like too much sodium, not enough fibre for breakfast etc etc. You can log calories burnt too and it takes that into account, you can access it online and link it to facebook, but I think I'll leave that one. lol

There is another class a little bit further from me that a friend goes to which is meant to be good and is only £2 a class. I might give that a go, but I'm going to wait until I've dropped a bit more weight first as I think I also struggled with a lot of it because of my size.

Oh that app sounds way better than mine, will download it as soon as I clear out some space, my phone gets full so quickly lol.

I think I struck lucky with a great instructor, it totally alters the work out you get. I wish I could be more bouncy, she's really bouncy and I hope that as the weight comes off I'll be able to bounce more. That sounds crackers doesn't it! Lol. Hopefully soon I'll be back to zumba, I miss it sooo much.

Hehe! Not crazy at all. The app was £1.79 I think but worth every penny. My mum bought it as well to use on get comp, she doesn't have an iPhone. She rates it as well.

Oh fab, I'll have to sync my phone tomorrow and free up some space, then I'll get that app and use it when I need to maintain. I'm actually feeling a bit excited at the prospect of getting to target again. I know it's miles away yet, but it feels achievable again at long last!!!! I'm off to bed now to have a bit of a read of Carr and sone snoozy hypno!!! Nighty night my lovely xx

Night night, hypno at the ready this end too!

Hiya Hun, how's your day been?

Hi

Surfs right bout zumba. You should have got a really good workout and £6.50 omg that's very expensive! I'm surprised your gym doesn't do it. Ours is fast, bouncy and very high energy. The instructor is the key to it all! Find a good one and you are on to a winner :) it's worth trying the other class with your friend. Never let your size be the reason not to do something. I was talking to a thin friend (she's got a perfect figure) and she said that if she feels fat and has put a bit of weight on she feels to fat for the gym. She's a size 8! It's never your size that holds you back, you can adapt your workouts and moves, it's your brain telling you that you can't do it.

Kez go to that other Zumba class if your friend is right it should be better and more enjoyable. If it isn't then you'll just have to come up to see me every week when I start my class!

I've got this one and wear my m&s one under it because I like underwiring, and don't feel supported without it. But I'm 38DD so I need the support, it's a good one though.

Morning ladies! I will try the other Zumba class but will focus on cardio in the gym for a couple of weeks first. My gym does do zumba classes but they all start to early, I can't get to them on time

Off to take my horsey out for a walk in a little bit. He needs to get out now seeing the roads and cars etc, so nothing is scary when he finally gets broken in. Might even take him down the woods to play in the river.

Scales are almost back to where they were, about 3lbs off my final cd weigh in. I'm not scale obsessing though, trying to focus more on the food intake side of things. Was naughty last night and had a bag of fizzy laces and a bottle of cider.

Plan is to go to gym again today so that I am doing one day on, one day off. Then tomorrow will try to get a badmington court for a change.

Scott hasn't been to the gym since the induction, so I'm guilt tripping him as it was his idea. But now I've been a couple of times myself I've kind of broken the fear of the unknown.

Oooh well done Kerry on getting the scales back down, that's good!! I'm still in bed lol! I've been getting up every morning at 8 in case the delivery I was expecting came, now I have it I decided I will stay in bed. I'm ploughing through Allen Carrs Easyweigh to Lose Weight. I'm completely confused by it all  but I'll keep going. Beck makes much more sense to me than this does!

Sounds like you've got a nice day planned. I'm going to have to get up soon, I'm getting my hair done, needs doing badly, the silver highlights are getting a bit too noticeable for my liking :( trouble is I like my natural hair colour and they never get the match quite right, always ends up a bit reddy looking. We'll see!
