I'm really worried about moving in with my bf end of the year as he's never left home!!

Am not gona lie... Its TOUGH!!
My BF had lived in both Oz and Canada for over a year each so had left home.. But not quite the same as living with someone... They have SO much done for them that they take for granted.. Washing.. Ironing.. Cooking.. Cleaning.. Washing down the shower/bath after them.. Its endless arguments about tedious things.. All I'll say is start as you mean to go on... By that I mean, don't go "oh its fine.. I'll pick his washing off the floor and bring it n wash it etc etc..." as he'll not learn.. I've left Jonathan go without any clean clothes at least 3 times so far.. He's now learning if he wants something washed, he's got to put in the basket... Tho he does need reminding every now n again...
Also, don't leave little things that are irritating you to build up.. Say them.. Talk them thru.. Get them out of the way.. Otherwise, they build n build until your in a blind rage and on the verge of cutting up every item of clothing he owns.. I've also learned this the hard way!!! Same goes for him.. We're no angels, us ladies..

My Mam done EVERYTHING for my Dad.. He's literally just step out of his clothes and they'd end up back in the wardrobe all fresh n ironed again.. magic!!
Defo not ending up like that..
I wreckon I spent the first month (and still now sometimes) saying "I'm not yer ma!"

Oh Brona I'll happily swap with ya... The mess and bother is unreal!!
I can handle the dirty floors etc.. But we've had to have our boiler moved from the old kitchen and have had rads removed and to be moved n whatnot which is where my problems begin!!
And.. We've no proper back door as that was pulled down so we've just a normal like sitting room door, as our back door.. So the paranoia has well n truly set in...
I may have myself a few nights in a hotel next week.. Just so I get a proper sleep.. We'll see..

No it has to come down. Same story as u. The extension was build 40years ago and build badly. Feck all insulation and shoddy build. They think the Foundations are sinking. So gona knock it and rebuild but can make it a little bigger (up to biggest without planning).
But I hav a lot on this year and cudnt take on the repayments on a loan. I just don't hav it. :-(

Would you consider getting it underpinned and external insulation?? Or is yer mind set on pulling it?
We'd have saved ours had it not been falling apart.. Literally!! Tehre was an inch between the back wall of the house, and the start of the wall of the extension!!!
We have since discovered... they used the pathway from the side of the house, to start the build on one side of it.. So like NOTHING supporting it!!!! Pack of cowboys!!!

Having a really good food weekend for a change. Even been drinking water!! Not my full 1.5ltrs but not far off.
Been a long time since I've been 100% on a weekend. And even more pleased as it * weekend
Hav proved to myself me being off track at every obstacle is me being a greedy cow. If I can b on plan while having no proper kitchen, and having TOTM there's no excuse for being a greedy mare any other time

Hey Sarah.. All good ta.. Got some pics of my newly decorated and 90% completed living room to post up.. Love it.. Really happy with how its turned out..
We have yet to put down floors, and get a new suite, and I've to find a light fitting/shade to complete it, but the windows, plastering, painting and blinds are done...

Its only 1 room so far but its all coming along nicely.. Foundations for new kitchen are laid n 80% of the intermal wall insulation has been fitted... We at least now have a room we can go and close the doors and forget about the bombsite that is our house.. We have a haven so to speak

Yep, just thought people were tired on Monday but it's Tuesday people! Wake up!!

Ya worked all weekend so loving the couple if days. Slept in, went for run, and now avoiding hoovering and tidying the garage!

How's the house goin?
