My Weight Loss Journey

WI day today...had a sneak peak on the scales and at the moment it is showing an STS, but we'll see later tonight.
Really need to make more of an effort to get back on track- especially if I want to be at target by Christmas!

Lunch- 2 pieces of wholemeal toast (HEB) with Moong Daal Curry, Onken Vanilla FF yogurt

Dinner (after WI)- It's tasters night, so will have a snack of some green day dishes. Might have a stuffed omelette when I get back if I'm still hungry.
Snack- Alpen Light (3 syns) with green lemon tea, Mini Twister (2 syns)

Water: 1.0 litre
Exercise: Arm Exercises

Wow Meli, thought I'd pop in to say a massive WELL DONE on your losses so far. You have done so well and are still having brilliant weekly losses despite being so light! 6lb in one week, yes please :)

You might have just gained a stalker trying to copy your success ;)

well done for getting the 4.5 stone sticker!! I'm really envious of your losses, 215 to 155!! wowww!!!:D (I haven't even lost half a stone, sigh...) You're an inspiration!:)

Prawchopsuey: thanks looking forward to your comments too :) Don't copy my last 2 weeks as they've been naughty ones!!!
Dreamaholic: I think I'm about 2 lbs away from getting my 4.5stone shiny sticker back after some bad weeks, but thanks :) Congrats on your loss this week as well!

WI Results yesterday: STS, so really thankful for this and need a fresh start NOW! It was tasters night and I ended up taking some plain boiled rice with Moong Daal Curry and everyone seemed to like it :) There were quiches, a brocolli and cheese pie, tandoori chicken, kebabs, rice with sultanas, bean soup, watermelon, chocolate cake, potatoe and coriander curry, quorn sausage bake and of course I tried a bit of everything! Gave me new ideas on things to make, it's just a matter of doing it now.
Keeping really busy with the school run as my little one is only in half a day for this week and next week, so it doesn't give me enough time to do anything. Also think the 2 small ones are going through terrible 3's and 4's (if that exists) and are giving me a hard time, so I end up exhausted by dinner time. Think this is where I'm going wrong the last few days and need to just prepare something ahead of time so I don't go off plan and just pick at the first thing in sight.

Menu today:
Breakfast- Fruit Bowl
Lunch- Moong Daal Curry with White Rice
Snack- Activia FF yogurt and 2 peaches
Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast (HEB) with Baked Potatoe and Baked Beans and some Cheese (HEA)
Snack - 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea and 0% Total Yogurt mixed with Skinny Cow Hot Chocolate (2 syns)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: None

Stuck to plan yesterday and even with less syns didn't feel hungry, so feeling happy about that. Already had one temptation this morning--OH's brother in law's prathi- I just threw it in the bin to keep me from eating it. All dressed up with new clothes (my mom brought me a full suitcase) and made an extra effort through the rushed morning to put on some makeup and feeling good and positive today :) Already noticed a few people looking back at me today---I look gooooood :)Ready to have another 100% day today.

Green Day:
Breakfast- Fried Egg with Baked Beans, Pear
Lunch- Grilled Chicken Breast (HEB) with Refried Bean Mash and 1 Warburton's toast (.5HEB)
Snack- Activia FF yogurt and blueberries
Dinner- Quorn Sausages with Mushrooms and SW Chips and Ketchup (1 syn)
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (.5HEB + 3 syns), 0% yogurt with Skinny Cow Hot Chocolate (2 syns)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: Arm Exercises, will try to get on the exercise bike (20 mins)

Yeah I was really releived with the STS especially as I wasn't 100% on plan. This week I'm trying my best, so let's hope for a loss!
About my weight, I'm only 5ft, so that weight for me is still on the chubby side, so can't wait to get on the slender side. We are in it together, so we will get there and we will be some yummy mummies :)

Moong Daal recipe (on the back of the pack of East End brand Moong Dall pack):

1. Sort through and discard any hardened kernels (200g dried Dall)
2. Wash in 3-4 changes of clean water
3. Replace water with clean water, and bring to boil

Add 1 teaspoon of both tumeric powder and coriander powder, add 1/2 a teaspoon of chilli powder and salt to taste. Add 1 small, finely chopped onion, 1 chopped tomatoe, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (optional - I don't normally use the oil so I don't have to use the HEB or syn it). Simmer on a medium to low heat for 1/2 hour until a rich and creamy texture is achieved. Garnish with finely chopped fresh coriander leaves. Serve on a bed of rice or with chappati. Serves 4 as a main meal.

note: I put enough water to cover the top of the daal and just open and stir every now and then to make sure it doesn't stick or need more water. I love it with rice :)

Stuck to plan yesterday, although I did have a small piece of chicken kebab (so need to count this within my syns yesterday). I have guests coming on Saturday night - Monday, so will be challenging, but think I'll be okay.

Green Day today:
Breakfast- 42g All Bran(HEB) + skimmed milk (HEA), pear
Lunch- Egg, Baked Beans and SW Chips
Snack- Activia FF yogurt and blueberries
Dinner- Grilled Fish (HEB) with Stir Fried Veg and 1/2 pack SuperNoodles Fat Free
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (6 syns) with Green Lemon Tea, 0% Total with Skinny Cow HC (2 syns)

Water: 1.5litres
Exercise: None

Not sure what came over me last night just before I was going to go to bed. Should have just had some water and gone to sleep, but instead I reached for some beef salami and 2 slices of bread. Could have been something worse, but still have to add that to my syns, and probably ended up going over my syns for yesterday. Oh well today is a new day...have a lot of Red food about, so may have a red day today.

Breakfast- 42g All Bran (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA), large conference pear
Lunch- Vegetable Soup and Crabsticks
Snack- Activia FF yogurt and frozen blueberries
Dinner- EDITED- Arab Restaurant ---loads of syns!!!!
Water: 1.0 litre

Last part of the day was ruined yesterday after OH insisted we go out with his BIL to an arab restaurant. Probably went way over my syns, but back on plan today.
Have guests coming over tonight, but they are going to a wedding tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully should be okay.

Hope it's been OK today :) What did you have at the restaurant? I really want to try Arab food, nearest I've tried is Afghan I think but would love to visit an Arab place! Would you recommend the place you went? xxx

Wouldn't recommend it as the service was not good and food was not all that. It wasn't really a posh restaurant..it's one on Wilmslow road that's always busy though (on the corner).
Had some marinated beef, lamb shawarma, 5 different dips, salad, pita bread and humus.

Really crappy weekend....need I say more....

Still have guests and not sure if they are leaving today or tomorrow? Need them to be gone because there is too much food everywhere and little or no time for me to cook for myself. My OH is suffering with a frozen shoulder and vomiting, my kids are driving me mad and what do I do...turn to food- arghh....
Will try my best to stick to plan today and not sure if I'll be able to go to WI because of my guests (and to be honest not really in the mood to see what the scales will say as I'm sure it's bound to be a gain). Really struggling...anybody have any ideas?

Breakfast- 42g All Bran (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA), pear
Lunch- Vegetable Soup and 3 WG Crackbread Ryvita (.5HEB) with chickpea dip
Snack- Activia FF yogurt, blueberries
Dinner: AH Cous Cous (.5 syn), 2 quorn sausages and mushrooms
Snack- Skinny Cow HC with Total Yogurt (2syns) with crushed Alpen Light (.5HEB)

Water: 1.0 litre

Hello Meli, sorry to read about your rubbish weekend. It's horrible when you feel that entertaining visitors spoils your diet, because then you end up not wanting guests to come over in the first place...Well I do.

But if I stop entertaining and having a but of a splurge now and again, I'll be thin one day but anti-social and miserable... I would rather the weight loss is slower but does not compromise my life :)

As for the kids winding you up, I have no advice I'm afraid - I think you would have to have the patience of a saint not to get wound up every so often, especially if your OH is under the weather and not doing his fair share to help.

DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT IT. Just start afresh once the guests have left and hopefully you will have a great big first-week-on-a-diet loss next week :)

Prawnchopsuey: Thanks for your reply and yes hoping to start fresh today as guests have already left. Our social calendar for the next month looks busy, so think I just need to find ways to work SW into it somehow. Unfortunately feeding the guests SW food won't really work as they want the "real" curry. Oh well, will just take it one day at a time :)

Didn't get to go to WI yesterday as OH's family left around 9pm, but thinking of going sometime this week to see the damage.

Went to the drs. yesterday because of my * week problems and they think I may have PCOS (although it's supposed to mean having less * weeks and I'm the opposite) and they need me to take blood tests for diabetes and something else. When I went in July they found tiny cysts in my left ovary and 1 in my right ovary, but they are not concerned. Makes me a bit more stressed though, but won't turn to eating today...want to be really good....

There is a Zumba class today, so have already signed up and ready to go. Maybe that will kick me back into gear.

Green day today:

Breakfast- half a banana, 42g All Bran (HEB) and semi skimmed milk (HEA)
Lunch- Baked potatoe with baked beans
Snack- Activia FF yogurt and a large pear
Dinner- Trying something new, but probably won't use that many triangles
Creamy pasta bake:
Fry red onion, garlic and mushroom in Fry Light, add passata with basil, heat through and melt in 6 Extra Light Laughing Cow Triangles(HEA). Stir into lots of cooked pasta and bake in the oven at 190°C/Gas 5 for 20 minutes.

Snack- 2 Alpen Light bars (HEB) with Green Lemon tea, Mini Twister (2 syns)

Water: Need to work on this as I haven't been drinking enough despite aiming for 1.5 litre
Exercise: ZUMBA!!!

*hugs* I was diagnosed with PCOS at 13 - at that age it's horrible but at any age it still hurts. I had ultrasounds every 4-6 months and had a couple of small cysts on my left ovary, which incidentally is the side I get excruciating pains on when I am on my period, that came and went between each scan. I haven't had them checked now for two, maybe three years? I hope whatever it is that you have (or fingers crossed, don't have) gets sorted out ASAP. In the mean time, all you can do is treat your body well and definitely go to that Zumba class! Getting an idea of your weight would be good too - did docs not weigh you at your appointment?

That creamy pasta bake sounds so nice! Make a huge batch and freeze some for the harder days? I wish I could come and hug you and help you :( but I have uni to go to, so :grouphugg: will have to do xxx

No the doctor didn't weigh me and I was actually really upset because after waiting 1 hour to be seen she said I didn't have a double appointment so she couldn't do an internal. I just said to her should I just get up and walk out then as there is no point being here? I was really upset and held back my tears and didn't even look at her and just kept it short and simple.
Well nothing hurts me, but it's just that I get my * weeks more frequently than I should so that's why they are doing all these tests, but everything seems to come out normal, except for these cysts, but they don't think it's related. I don't know not really happy with this lady doctor.

I did end up going to Zumba and it was great. Broke out in a big sweat and came out like a red tomatoe...so definately burned some calories! Definately going next week...think I need to keep up on the body magic side of things.

Will let you know how the pasta bake comes out tonight. You know I never really freeze any leftovers because I think that the taste will not be the same. Do you keep it in plastic ziplock bags or in a container? Sorry for the silly questions.

Thanks for the hugs too...really needed that
