My Weight Loss Journey

it's friday night A&E is the slowest place to be, take comfort that he is in the right place at the right time, best they check him over properly.

I am siting here watching ace of cakes, they have just made an alice in wonderland cake it is so beautiful - i'd never cut into it

I am turning 40 next year and my husband's niece just told me she didn't realise how old I am lol! Her mum's only a year younger than me

Tried calling again..think I got through to someone nicer!!!! She put me through to another desk called A&E Majors, but the nurse was busy at that moment. Hope it doesn't mean it's a major thing???

Oh I could easily cut into a slice of any cake...lol!
Aww..that's a great compliment!

no i think minors means things that can be sorted by triage nurse (cuts, sprains etc) and majors requires doctor sign off - shame none of our nurses are online tonight - they could ease your mind a bit

Called again and got through to someone who is looking over him and she was just giving him some medication and said she couldn't give info over the phone, but will ask him to call me. Knowing OH he will just get his bil to say anything. We'll see....
Just got the call from bil :(
OH is staying in as he needs to be seen by a specialist. No other info. A friend is coming to pick me up so I can get my car and bring bil and my son from hospital.
Bad night it's gonna be !

Morning Meli - i am not going to be around much today so a quick message to say hope OH is ok and you managed to get some rest last night, will be thinking of you, ((big hugs)) donna x

Thanks Donna...really appreciate your comments and good thoughts.
Well I went last night to A & E and he was on a drip and didn't want to tell me anything, but I made him and seems like the blood tests came out abnormal, urine as well and they are doing an ultrasound this morning. They think it can be a number of things, jaundice, hepatitis or liver infection, but the specialist needs to see him first. He could not get a bed until 6am when they moved him up on the ward (it's a good thing I came back with the kids and bil at 2am) and he is in a high intensity ward. Only went to hospital this morning to drop off some clothes for him, some breakfast and pillows (yes, they have no pillows, can you imagine???). Only have a 2 hour period 2 times in the day when I can see him, so hope to hear more later today.

Oh Meli, really sorry to hear about your awful evening. Hope you can get some more postive news today as the day goes on. Thinking of you. xx

Hoping for good news today x

Ay ay ay. Hope he got some rest, I was in A&E overnight once and it was horrible. I used my cardigan as a pillow and my coat as a blanket even though I was in with a horrible flu.

Have you been to see him yet? As horrible as it is, it's probably best for him to stay in until they know exactly what's going on... even if that means being in till next week as specialists are usually off on the weekends...

Let us know how he's doing hun, biggest hugs xxxxxxx

Oh Meli, my heart goes out to you, hope husband is better today, hopefully anti biotics have kicked in and he is starting to turn the corner, will catch up later, my 1 year old is demanding attention!

I haven't had much time to update my diary and as you can imagine food choices haven't been wise ones as I've been quite stressed with OH's situation. He stayed in the hospital Friday and Saturday night and they did a lot of blood tests, he had a drip, ecography, ct scan and looks like he has jaundice and possibly acute hepatitis (probably caused by medicine he was talking for some muscle pains he had in both arms, plus medicines given by the doctor confusing the symptoms he had for jaundice as a stomach virus despite OH telling them something else was really wrong). They sent OH home on Sunday afternoon as they said there is no point for him waiting for results in the hospital and to just get some rest so the jaundice can go away and he has to come to the outpatient clinic again next week for some more tests for his liver. They thought he had a valve that was blocked or some stone in his liver, but looks like it is something else wrong in his liver, but they need to look more closely. So feeling a lot of stress and frustration with the whole medical situation.
I decided to go to WI today despite knowing that I haven't been following the plan for 2 weeks almost and of course it is a disappointment to report a really bad gain of 7.5lbs!!!! Yes you read right...7.5lbs (I hope some of this is due to my * week). I've even lost my 4 stone sticker and at the moment have lost 3stone 11lbs. It's really disappointing and feel really angry with myself to let it get this bad. I wanted to break down in tears at group, but held it back. I know what I have to do, I just need the willpower and motivation back to stick to plan. I won the raffle today at group and one of the things included was some SW magnets with food ideas, so will try to make use of these. Also asked for some SAS logs and asked my C to call me..need all the support I can get.
I will get that 4 stone back next week!
Won't report on what I ate today as it was also just junk, but will start fresh from tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for their support and PM's regarding OH's situation!

Meli - just a quickie, glad to hear OH is home, hope that his illness is diagnosed and treated properly soon! Don't even think of your gain, life is full of ups and downs, how can you expect yoruself to follow the plan when your oh is ill, big pat on the back for going to class! That sticky will yours again next week, donna x
