My Weight Loss Journey

Don't worry about the gain Meli, stressful situations are a really tough challenge for anyone, let alone a dieter. You will have it off in no time, just make sure you are looking after yourself :)

Need to move on and draw a line under the last 2 weeks.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Woke up and determined to go to Zumba, but went to class and it was cancelled. Will see if I can do a bit of the exercise bike at home since I'm in my sports clothes. Just wanted to update quickly what I'm having today and hoping to stick to plan:

Yes yes yes we will Meli!!! We're in a similar situation this week aren't we!! Must be something in the air lol!! Let's devise a Meli-Hev plan of action!! Two 100% days where we stick TOTALLY to plan and meet you back 'ere to compare notes!! How does that sound?!XXXXXX

First off, i have never been known to be good with words - putting em in the right order etc, but here goes....

Hey Meli - u have been missed. x
You are such a great support to us guys and girls, so its our time to help you out. You have done so well getting this far - 4 stone - thats an 8 - 10 year old isnt it?? Hope home life finds results and settles for you real soon.

I finally recieved my new "World of Flavours" book on Friday and it has the meatball recipe in there so I might be brave later this week and do it. Loads of gorgeous spanish recipies too.

Sounds good Hev :) So far my day is going well, so let's do it. While having my lunch today and savouring my SW chips I remember why I started SW :)

Aww, thanks for your msg :) This is the greatest support group!
Yes you are right I haven't thought of the weight that way before, but my 4 year old only weighs 3 stones, so I've lost more than one of him :p
OH is here at home relaxing and I am trying to stay sane and positive.
You know I went to Home Bargains and saw this book called The South Beach Diet Parties and Holidays Cookbook and it was only 79p, so I bought it and it has some lovely recipes in it that I can also adapt the SW way, so watch this space.
Let me know if you try any good recipes from your new book.
Thanks for the support XXX

Thanks and glad to hear you're back on track :)
OH still feeling unwell and we went to the GP surgery and they didn't have any of the results or notes from when we went to the hospital. I thought everything was supposed to be electronic now...so much for advanced technology in the medical field. He's given him a sick note to be off until the 20th of October, but don't think OH will be patient enough to wait at home that long. He needs to have more tests done next week, so let's see what happens.

Hooray for 100% days!! We can do it Meli!!
Do you make your own refried beans? If so, how do you do it? I've only ever had them in restaurants before...

Looks like I'm bound to have another 100% day today :) Hope you are doing well too!
Don't have time to make my own, just have the Discovery brand ones. Actually didn't have the refried beans after all (see edits above), so may have them tomorrow instead.

Just edited my syns for last night as I had bad cravings for chocolate, so ended up having 3 Alpen Lights and another Curly Wurly, so had about 21 syns, so will try to reduce them a bit for the rest of the week. Need to stop using my syns on Curly Wurly's as they are too costly syn wise, although they are lovely!
Still feel as though I had a good day and will aim for another 100% day today.

Green Day-
Breakfast- 1 apple, 2 pears, 1 banana, Green Lemon Tea
Lunch- Small bowl of Courgette and Potatoe Soup and 6 Ryvita WG CrackerBread (HEB) with Quark, Spinach and Black Pepper Dip
Snack- Activia FF yogurt with Grapes
Dinner- Spaghetti with Quorn Meatballs and a side salad
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea, 1 Mini Twister (2 syns)

Water: 1.0 litre at least
Exercise: None, feeling lazy!

Hi Meli, it's strange you mention the Curlywurlys!! I HAD (being the operative word!!) a multi pack in my cupboard and on WI day Mon I scoffed 3 in a row!! Felt really naughty afterwards but I think it was because I knew I'd have to get back on track Tues so I was making the most of the moment of freedom!! Isn't psychology complex!!! Hope you're OK hun! Lets face it though, 21 syns isn't disastrous, you can pull it back over the next couple of days, have as much of your yummy free foods as possible- lots of flavour to keep it lively!! How do you make your daah by the way? XXXXX

weather seems lovely today hun, hope you get some walking done :) fingers crossed for another 100% day - and pick up some mikado for low syn choc fix! :) xxxx

2 days ago my neighbour told me about 2 men who are sexually assaulting girls/women around our area, so since then have stopped walking the alleyway leading to the kids school. Crazy people in this world. Think there have been at least 6 incidents in the last 4 weeks by the same person. You be careful too!

It was a lovely day and ended up doing all my washing and had OH sit in the sun to see if his jaundice gets any better. Other than that didn't do much at all yesterday.

Hope you are feeling better today!

I ended up having 3 of those mince pie HiFi Bars on Monday as I knew I would start fresh on Tuesday too :)
How is your week going so far?
Think you mean the Daahl recipe below:

Moong Daal recipe (on the back of the pack of East End brand Moong Dall pack):

1. Sort through and discard any hardened kernels (200g dried Dall)
2. Wash in 3-4 changes of clean water
3. Replace water with clean water, and bring to boil

Add 1 teaspoon of both tumeric powder and coriander powder, add 1/2 a teaspoon of chilli powder and salt to taste. Add 1 small, finely chopped onion, 1 chopped tomatoe, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (optional - I don't normally use the oil so I don't have to use the HEB or syn it). Simmer on a medium to low heat for 1/2 hour until a rich and creamy texture is achieved. Garnish with finely chopped fresh coriander leaves. Serve on a bed of rice or with chappati. Serves 4 as a main meal.

note: I put enough water to cover the top of the daal and just open and stir every now and then to make sure it doesn't stick or need more water. I love it with rice :)
