NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

Good morning ladies :)
Hope you both have a super duper Sunday xx
Hi - hope it's bright and sunny there like it is here bur brrrrrr..... cold and enjoy ur day xx

Thanks Linda and hope you have as good a night out as I had afternoon out. I actually felt quite slim and comfortable in a new top and trousers that I've not fitted into for about six years! (leopard print top, get me!) and even got a compliment from my 24yr old nephew, saying there was no way I looked my age and looked towards his Mum. Lol, my sister (six years older than me, was a bit miffed at that lol)

It's nice that soup, isn't it and so quick and easy. Might make that this week myself, I'm loving soups for lunch each day. Hope the restaurant can supply yummy food for you that isn't too synful, so you can still really enjoy it. I've just had some of that lovely Tesco yogurt and options/raspberries... yum but no choccy tonight. xx

Glad u felt good in ur clothes - love the sound of the trendy leopard print - just goes to show how well u've done - lovely to get a compliment! Yes ur soup is popular here - as u say it's so handy for lunches - as u'll see last night didn't go as planned xx

Well hope it's been a good day for everyone including Linda-Cloudy who's loosening her stays today!

I've trying to keep things low after yesterday's naughtiness!

brunch: Cloudy's pea soup, HEB bread and marmite, grapes
eve meal: lamb steak and salad
2 Ferrero Rocher 7 Syns plus 4.5 piece of choc
11.5 Syns

EDIT: amending cos the evening didn't go to plan - restaurant hadn't reserved our table and could only offer us a tiny table in the noisy bar so the others ended up having a takeaway and I cooked an SW meal!,

Wow!! How good are you?! That would have completely thrown me and I would have given in to a take-away. :D Well done, you!! Hope you have a good day. :)

Well that's light on food but that's not always a good thing for weight loss, so hope you feel more like eating tomorrow. I will be making more soup once we're back from the 'lighting hunt', though only if it doesn't take tooooo long

Yes ur right but can't face eating more!

Yoo-hoo Doreen - hope all is well - know u have a busy week - enjoy being with the family!xx

I've had days like that and not always any explanation. Mind you, now you've got me craving marmite! Maybe i could lick it off a spoon lol. xx

Well at least it's free and I like it when I'm off my food - which doesn't happen often as u'll have noticed!!

Are you drinking lots too Linda? Sorry you're still off your food but you've done quite well today, its horrible trying to make yourself eat when you don't really have any appetite. I do hope you are at least rewarded by the scales at the end of the week. Hope Poppy settles well tonight and you get a decent night's sleep when you get to bed. xx

Thx - yes I am drinking - mostly fruit teas - don't fancy tea or coffee at the mo - I smiled when I read my post saying that I don't have much appetite cos I have actually eaten a fair amount in total!! It's just that I normally have larger portions and I'm not really enjoying my meals (don't fancy anything really - even choc doesn't taste so good - so shdn't have had it really!)

Poppy went off quickly tonight and I'm fortunate to have good sleep pattern unlike u - don't know how u cope? Hope u get ur quota tonight and won't lying awake or having to use the tens machine.

I'm sure u've tried everything but I take turmeric for my arthritic hands it has worked well for me - my DiL recommended it after successfully treating their dog's arthritis! (whose photo is my avatar his name is Mutley and their other dog is called Brian!) Night, night xxx

Well the fruit teas are great, I often go off tea or coffee when a bit 'off', they just don't taste good. It's not nice that you're not feeling 100% but could mean a good scale reward at the end of the week, at least that would be a good outcome for suffering.
You mentioned the turmeric before, in what form do you take it? I have to be careful what I mix with my prescribed cocktail but wish I could be pain free or just less, it does drag me down sometimes.
I'm gonna be singing 'catch the pigeon, catch the pigeon' now and sniggering like Mutley :) xx

Hi - yes I can imagine the combination of lack of sleep and long term pain would bring anyone down, but you manage it well.

Ooh my memory is failing me, forgot I'd mentioned turmeric - for a short while I used to put turmeric powder in a blob of yogurt - ok bad if you swallowed quickly!

Then I tried it in capsule form but when I finish these bottles (1st time I've tried it - priced 2 for one) I'll go back to the powder - cos it worked better - think that was because I was having a bigger dose - I could take more capsules I suppose but wdn't want to exceed the recommended dose, but don't mind taking lots of culinary turmeric cos I'm sure curry lovers consume loads!! Also the capsules are much more expensive - about £10 for 100 capsules and the dose is 2 a day.

As always there's a lot of info online and opinions seem to vary - thought the one above might be of interest to you cos it refers to knees. Gosh that was a long ramble!!

Yay to me feeling off if it helps the losses! But feeling better today so my willpower will be managing what I eat - oh dear!!

Hope ur day goes well and the singing makes the chores less boring! xx

Thanks for the link, will read on laptop later. Good luck with the willpower! Xx

Edit : Having read the link and done a bit more research, I think I'd want to check with the consultant as it appears it can be affected by anti-coagulant drugs, which is part of what I have to take daily. I'll mention it at my next appointment, though that isn't until after Christmas now. Thanks again though and glad it helps your hands. x
