NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

You are both very right. I am working on an S&P day today. To replace spuds I am going to have swede&carrot mash with broccoli and peas. Pork chops for my P

Not sure what else, and the extra B is a problem, I can only think bread. Can`t keep crackers or crispbreads in the house. I suppose I could have the bread with my soup. Will see.

I am surprised I feel so content about the 1/2lb. Was a little surprised but felt ok. Now where does that come from. It is all well and good saying to others 1/2lb off is better than 1/2lb on, but I don`t need that, :D

could it be that ur chuffed cos you've had a run of losses and you know you've done well and there's a good chance you could see more loss next week? Either way - it's really good you're being so positive!

I won't be able to post much more today - Pops will be here soon then when her Mum picks her up - I'll need to get ready for tonight's party - takes longer to get ready these days I find !!

Here's my food for the day - hope if I eat more it'll be fruit!

B: ham and tomatoes
L: bread HEB, lettuce, ham, cherry tomatoes with tip of tsp of mayo 1 syn?? mixed with white vinegar plus balsamic on toms.
D: warm crispy lamb salad syns?? meringue, hazelnut cream and roasted plums syns??
Diet coke, 3 coffees ss milk - still no fruit tea!! water

I've tried to eat lightly b4 the meal and will try to go carefully over the weekend to make up for the-sure-to-be-syns-in-the-meal!!

Hope your days go well - see you 2moro xx

Enjoy your day and well done for trying to eat light before your meal. I think you are right about the 4 wks in a row helping me. I do feel positive xxxxxxxxxx

Yay another team loss nanny! Ur on a roll however big or small its down, down down...
Wow im so chuffed for you all. Lets hope i dont let anyone down tomorrow. :p

Well - I lost 1/2lb. I am not going to be upset about it as a loss is a loss and I have lost 4 weeks in a row which I have not done for a very long time.
Thought it would be more but it won`t make me have more. Maybe an extra syn or 2. What do you think.

I'm not sure why we sometimes lose less than we deserve/expect after an on plan week - sometimes it's water retention for lots of reasons even after our totms are history! I suppose are bodies aren't machines which lose and gain weight to order!

But what I do know is that if we stick to the plan consistently (unlike me for months!) we do get regular losses, but not always what we expect. I think we've all read posts where ppl have been disappointed after a good week but seen also ones where ppl have been surprised at having had a higher loss than expected.

I think u shd do what u fancy but as u've had 4 consecutive weeks losing - I wdn't change anything too much cos nothing's broken!!

As you've seen in my upndown journey - when I've cut down on my food too much for a few days - that brings on a binge cos I start to miss then crave my sugary/fatty high syn stuff!

You know Sw plans inside out but perhaps for one week only (as the ads say!)

- you could check the amount and proportion of speed and protein foods
- measure ur healthy extras
- I don't seem to lose weight if I have more than 10 syns a day (altho as u know I often lose count after 50 on a bad day!) do u? If so, eat what u need up to 105
- Eat the free food u need to satisfy ur appetite (again not like me at times when I eat what I fancy)

Flipping heck I've rambled on there - and it was only a short question! Sorry - just concerned ur mulling over last week (as we all tend to!) and hoping ur proud of urself and ur fantastic loss of 2st plus!!

I was going to try a sp day, it kinda worked but I miss the spuds. I tried swede/carrot mash from a pack on swede & carrot I had in freezer and it was horrible so ended up having chops and broccoli.

One of things I notice in the book is `a variety of food and everything in moderation. Well I don`t do moderation when it comes to dinner so I am going to weigh my spuds again for a while. Not nec I know and I don`t think I ate too much last week, but what is is.

I also think I may have 10 syns a day. Not that I am having that many at present.

Gonna sort my food out and come back.

Og and I am proud, thank you. xx

Mmmmm.... nice food Doreen, and within syns - think it's tough to do EESP on WI day!! Have you found a way to do it to suit your diabetic needs?xx

Glad you're proud of you - we all are!!

Know what you mean about being careful with free foods - I know we can eat what we need to satisfy our appetite - but I often overeat the stuff I like!!

I suppose when we're being careful with either carbs or meat/fish we're sort of doing red/green daysxx

Happy to report - I ate what I posted earlier and no more - we had a good night and the food was lovely - but didn't really enjoy the hazelnut cream with the meringue and roasted plums - should have left it - but of course I ate it!!

No idea of syns but the warm crispy lamb salad can't have been that high - just that flipping hazelnut cream - never mind - I'll be on plan for the rest of the week and hope to do 2 Success Express days xx

Not sure how i didnt make it here yesterday evening but was a bit distracted and didnt make it round all diaries, even though this one is usually one i go straight to.
Anyway, on phone now and have a sleeping grandson beside me so trying not to wake him. He woke when Paul went out just before six so came into my bed but snuggled down and back to sleep :)

I reckon you're spot on Doreen, checking over your recent food and planning to keep an eye on portions. I think we all get a little complacent over time and guesstimate our healthy extras and maybe up our portionswhen we dont necessarily need to. Even when its 'free food' it is all calories at the end of the day and can add up.
Thats not to say cut down on food, just that it does us all good to re-check that we arent slipping in more here and there, that can make the difference over a week.

To have had consistent losses over four weeks at the hardest time of the year is really commendable. I bet there arent many on Mins that could say they've done that!
Keep doing what youve been doing, with just an eye on portions etc and no reason not to see more losses. Its also worth looking back over your records, if you have them and adding up monthly (or four weekly) losses which can sometimes reveal youve done better than you realise with a run of small losses.
Ooh ive rambled on a bit too :)

I'm really proud of this group, and so glad you let me be included in it. Xx

Linda - we really are so alike, your posts make me inwardly chuckle as so often i could have written them myself!
You did well for your meal out, good choices i think. I laughed at you mot really liking your pud but eating it anyway, thats so me! Well, when its there and youre paying for it, you feel that you should, dont you

Your plan for next few days will cancel it out i'm sure and SW do advocate flexi syns for that kind of thing anyway.

Right, im sure Jamie will wake again soon and my peace will be shattered. Have a great weekend ladies :) xx

I went off after getting weighed thursday but flexi synned xx now been very good lol xx

Disaster. I ate the pops that I had planned and they set off an avalanche of eating. -

2 wm rolls (12 syns) 2 slices corned beef (2 syns) 3 slices ham. 2 slices of bread (5 syn) 1slice corned beef(1syn) pickle 30ml (2syns) s/cream 30ml (2syns) Total 24 syns.

That is probabbly more than I had last week. Jumped on scales and 4lb heavier.

Yes probably are. I tried to get around the diabetic thing with SP with swede/carrot but did not like it so what bother again will stick to EE, like my spuds.

I agree with Cloudy about chuckling when you didn`t like dessert but still ate it. I would do that too :)

That is such a lovely post. We are pleased to have you with us.
With all the encouragement we get I will lose again next week.
I had looked back over my weight over the weeks and there was much more down months, and the up months were only trying to counteract them. Will check over my diarys again, tho I think I have some of them in a book.

How lovely to have your grandson sleeping next to you. That is so toe curling. Love it.
Off to plan todays food.

I will have to flexi syn last night, but will still watch the syns each day.
