NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

Sausages I have are Tesco H E Cumberland. 1 syn. I am trying to have 2 in future not 4.
SW meals - I never fancy them. Some say lovely some not. £3 is. Bit steep for me. Not heard of fish cake/sauce. Sound good. SW chips may go. With that one.
I cannot remember how to do the scones, could you remind me please xx I have made half portion in the past. They are rather nice. Syns?
Weigh day. I am lucky really as at the café I am used to not having. Only Friday if I have lost. Mind you the waitress will query me anyway. I have asked them to.
Definately copying you with a bucket of chips. Usually when I talk to the children the offer me one. Yes of course I have one. I did today!!
I feel I could buy only one meringue I would. As for those little marshmallow mmmmm
Sometimes, when on offer, I buy Hartley low cal pots.

I know you try hard but the order of the day is go to weigh in on Tuesday. Face the music again .... Just like me.....and keep trying.
Love Doreen

Here's the scone recipe - not the one I've used - can't find it :( but it's v similar & I'm sure they'll be lovely :-

to make cheesy smash scones, you’ll need:
100g of plain Smash, 2 eggs, 300g of low-fat cottage cheese (make sure you get the syn free cottage cheese, I use the Tesco low fat version), 30g of hard extra strong cheese, chopped chives (we have them growing in the garden – for goodness sake, get yourself a pot, bit of compost and one of the growing pots from Tesco for a quid, they almost grow themselves), paprika for the top, garlic salt.

to make cheesy smash scones, you should:
nothing to this one – you blend the egg and cottage cheese together with a hand-blender, add the Smash, cheese, chives and garlic and shape into a dough. It should feel dry and not very sticky, you can always work a bit more Smash in. You don’t actually need to blend the egg and cottage cheese first, but I like it smooth. Shape it into whatever shape you want, drop them into a frylighted oven tray, sprinkle with paprika and cook for 25 minutes on 190 degrees (check on them after 15 minutes).

I use the cottage cheese with chives & don't put extra chives in - not put paprika in either but will do next time - enjoy! They freeze very well and I prefer them warm!

You're right I shd have gone to class but just cdn't face it this week - will be there next week to face the music. x

it's my weigh in day tomorrow I am not hopeful but what will be will be the amount of crisps I have had is awefull just hopeing the new week I can avoid the temptation x

Yes get weighed and if you think it'll help - discuss where/when things go wrong for you and ask others how they manage - people usually give good answers/ideas - then draw the line and treat 2moro as a shiny fresh week! x

Is your builder registered with Federation of Master Builders?
When we had a kitchen done we had to take a panel off to get to the isolating value as he didn't leave it accessible and the rubbish he left under the units.

Today is the start of a new week for you. Make this week count. :)

How are u doing I will do I have half Easter egg left wich is the baby's he doesn't like them so more temptation lol xx

Throw it away. Crumble and put in the rubbish bin. Best thing to do but maybe the hardest. 😑

You're welcome Doreen!

Hope that all the Easter eggs have gone now either in your tum Georgina or in the bin - I remember when my 3 children were small that once I bought their eggs and ate them and had to buy more :O

This morning Phil and I finalised that letter to the builders - let's see what they have to say. Also did some boring housework.

Then we decided to go out for a walk on Anglesey - it's about 45 mins from here - Phil was brought up there - a pretty area poplular with holiday makers - we went for a walk upndown the sand dunes - good exercise for about an hour in the sunshine.

Food:

B: usual omelette :)
L: a cake and a cuppa whilst we were out
D: a bowl of soup and a fruit salad with skyr

Not an SW day but not over the top - so feel ok with that will restart SW in the morning.

The builders we used are sadly not registered with the Fed of Builders - we contacted 13 builders in all - 3 at a time - many said they'd come to check out the work to give us a price and didn't turn up - others came and promised to send a quote but didn't - we only received 2 quotes - one missed out lots of the work so we didn't didn't use them - the builders that we chose were recommended by a friend & sent out a detailed quote which we accepted and you know the rest!

What a pain to have to remove a panel to isolate that valve and very shoddy to leave rubbish under the units - WHY do they do that - they mustn't have any pride in their work - I'd have thought it'd only take a short while to do those jobs properly! Was that builder registered with the Fed of Master Builders?

Yes I'm feeling quite determined eat sensibly this week!

No he isn't. Found him on My Builder and they are all suppose to be vetted. Left a sh**ty review for him and notified My Builder about other work we weren't happy with.

Oh no - not you too - has My Builder responded yet I wonder? We were only saying the other day that we should have gone thro My Builder - just goes to show how difficult it is to get a good job done.

They just watch to see if he gets any more bad reviews and if he does they kick him off.

He played the because of your review I have lost jobs and I have a family to feed. :classic_err_what:

I've used My Builder a lot and it's only this one that let us down.

That sounds like a good way of dealing with poor contractors - your builder shd have thought of his family needing feeding when he was doing a poor job for you!

Good to read that My Builder has done you proud in the past.

Ah well done - that must have been hard to do - I'd have thrown it down my throat :( how's the rest of your day gone?
