Nefertari's journey to lose 130lbs

I wasn't sure if it was perhaps the fact that I'd gone without for so long. Also, IBS runs in my family and I've always suspected that I might have a touch of it so that could be a reason too. We'll see, I suppose!

Yeah, could be that. Maybe take a multi-vit tablet if you're going without veg for long periods of time and see how you go.

Re: Nefertari's Slim and Save diary

How are you feeling today? Have the problems died down?

I was feeling okay yesterday after getting some fresh air but must admit today I still feel a bit 'bunged up' if you get me?

Really considering switching to another diet once I'm back from Egypt - as I said on your diary, I have a month's supply to use when I get back but then I'll be close to 15st, if not at 15st, so I know I'll be comfortable to have slower losses. Plus I'm really getting into the cycling so I know I can't carry that on much more on the few kcals I have now.

More thinking to do, I reckon. Would quite like to do SW but stick to the old style red days which would help me keep low carb and hopefully mean slightly bigger losses. I'm going to do some research today xx

Have a good day Hun!

Did I tell you I used to live in Egypt 12 years ago? It was the best 3 years of my life. I love that country!
:)

Did you really? Was that for work? I'm doing an MA in Egyptology at the moment - finished my BA last year. I've never been to Egypt yet! Crazy, I know, after 4 years of study! We're just doing Cairo this time. Saving Luxor etc. for our honeymoon :D

What about posting on here again to keep you on track to Cairo?

It is interesting that you are struggling this week as it is this week that you are supposed to up your calories slightly. All it is saying is add two pieces of fruit, bit of extra veg and skimmed milk really but as you aren't having the latter two anyway, maybe adding some fruit this week would help? Or do you not like fruit either? As I said, it is just interesting that your struggling to stay on track coincides with S&S TFR week.

I don't really want to post there as I'm not on CD. :/ It's not that I'm going to come off plan anyway - I'm not craving food or anything, just feeling a bit bored with it. I think if I can get into the 16st bracket, I'll get a whoosh of motivation again. I feel like I've been 17 something for months!

It would have been my week to up my intake two weeks ago actually but I was back home and came off plan completely for a couple of days and then I was ill so wasn't having all my packs so didn't feel the need to do the whole week in the end.

I really do think it's the after effects of the veg - I've been having just protein for two days now and I seem to be doing better.

Just been for a 5.5 mile bike ride - very impressed with myself as two weeks ago I couldn't do 2.7 miles without stopping about six times on the way. Today I did the whole 5.5 miles without stopping. Go me! I've only managed to get out on the bike once each week too - didn't expect that to make much difference to my fitness really...

Chicken for dinner tonight, yummy! Xx

Yeah. I worked there as a beauty therapist. I was THAT close to marrying an Egyptian guy and staying there for good. I still think of him as the love of my life.. :( :)
I've lived mainly in Hurgahda but spent a lot of time in Cairo too. It's one of my favourite cities in the world!
You will fall in love with Egypt in a heartbeat :)

Relenting and taking some tablets for constipation before bed tonight. I'm home all day tomorrow so I'll be safe haha! If I still have issues after that, I'm going to have to give in and get some fibre powder. Hoping I'll just go back to normal after the tablets though.

Considering going onto 4 packs for a while, just to give me a boost - I have two spare weeks of packs anyway so that's actually enough to do four weeks of just 4 packs.

Hmm...think I'll start that next week and see how I go. Would be nice to shift a bit more before Cairo (four weeks tomorrow!) although I'm not sure I will lose any more than on 3 packs and a meal. We'll see, I suppose!

Just picked up some blackcurrant Ribena Plus - looking forward to trying that tonight! Going to have a glass of that in the evenings instead of the fizzy stuff.

Off to work for three hours at 5 (waste of time, I know) - I only said yes this week so I don't have to do it the next two weeks as I have essay deadlines galore. No more lectures now though, hoorah!

I've decided that 15th June (payday!) is my swapping diets day. Well, I'm going to start swapping. Going to replace one pack a day with a low GI option gradually over the course of a couple of weeks to try and minimise any gain and ease myself into eating 'real food' again. Hoping this is a sensible way to change over. Who knows, I might even hang on to the VLCD bars as a breakfast/lunch option for a couple of months, just until I can come up with some quick options myself. I feel positive about this. Even if I'm only down to 16st by then, I know I can lose the remaining 4st sensibly and sustainably, even if it takes a little longer. I'd like to be 14st by the end of Sept (Majorca) so that's 2st over 14 weeks which is only 2lbs a week - easily achievable on a 'normal' diet.

So, some new targets:

16'7 by 18th May.

16st by 15th June.

14st by 21st September.

Positive I can hit those! Xx

Hiya :) Popping in to subscribe.. I have been popping in to read your journey every once in a while since you started, but I was a bit scared to leave a comment! (not sure why..? ... I'm weird I guess)

I'm very impressed by your determination and progress so far! :D
