New year, new Jane!

I have decided that I need to get my SW books out again and re-jiggle my diet. I have a tendency to eat the same things and I have got into some bad habits. I love bananas and often have one with my cereal in the morning and will often grab one when I arrive home ravenous. I am sure that this isn't helping the cause. I also stick to the same things for lunch, either chicken breast or tuna with tomatoes. Boring!
 
Jiggling food about also stops you being bored which makes you less likely to go off plan because you are bored. Good luck and keep at it :)

Thanks Val and Gail xx. I have Stopped eating bananas for now and my husband cooked some different meals to put in the freezer(bless him!)I have also started keeping a written food diary rather than doing it my head so I hope that will also make a difference. Hope that everyone had a good weekend.
 
Lost 0.5lb and feel really dissappointed :( I have been really good so expected a better loss.
Anyway this is the begining of a new SW week so I will give it another week on my new regime and reassess next week if necessary.
 
Well done on the loss Jane, it's a loss and the weetabix moment last week proves you're in control still which is the main thing to focus on - you should be proud of that.

I am ashamed to say that I completly lost it diet wise over the weekend and have probably done a lot of damage. I think that I will leave my WI until next week because it will only depress me further when I see a deserved gain on Wednesday.
It all started when I read numerous accounts on the internet about the anti-depressant I had been on. I new that it caused weight gain but apparently it can take a year to get out of your system and it apparently slows down your metabolism. I know that its stupid to have a bad reaction to that but I totaly went off on one - partly because my weight loss has been slow anyway and my SW journey didn't start well because I had been prescribed statins that also caused weight gain. I am really sorry to be so whiney, I need to get a grip and move on but I feel insensed. Why give medication that causes weight gain to patients who are already struggling with their weight?
 
hi jane i hope ur feeling a bit better now :wave_cry: draw a line under the weekend and start afresh, all is not lost u know u can lose weight although it's slow try and maximise any loses by eating loads of veg, protein and fruit, drink loads of water :rolleyes: and hopefully the lb's will come off, i had a rubbish day yesterday went for a lovely roast which would have been ok-ish but then had rhubarb crumble & custard then came home and binged :eek: so am expecting a big gain this week hopefully it won't be more than 3lb otherwise i will have to start paying again :cry:knew i would be annoyed with myself after but that still didn't stop me doing it i get weighed tomorrow so not much chance of clawing it back. but drawing my line under it and starting afresh. good luck hun love val xx
 
Thanks Val x I hope that your gain is small if any. As you say I have got to draw a line under it and move on. Old habits die hard don't they! Hope that you are having a better week Val. x
 
I'm so sorry to hear about the anti depresants Jane, that really is horrible news. To be taking meds for something you're suffering with is bad enough, to then have them cause more issues is totally gutting. I'd have gone off on one too.

I know when I was taking my thyroid medication at the start and it just wasn't working (I was still having to gym 5 times a week and starve myself to remain the same weight) I just said forget it after a while and went back to a 'normal' diet which ordinarily wouldn't have made someone gain weight but it made me gain a further 2 stone till my meds kicked in a bit. You can't punish yourself for the next year till it's out of your system.....just stick with the plan and know that's the best you can do and be proud of that :)

I decided to bite the bullet and get on the scales as I had another bad evening food wise. I have put on 3lbs so I need to get a grip!
 
hi jane sorry about the 3lb gain just try and go back to basics like when u first joined s/w, u will soon get it back off, i know it must be very hard for you u do so much running around and have a lot on ur plate at the moment x how is ur mum? take care love val xx

Well I have had yet another 'bad' WE SW wise and have given myself a harsh talking to this morning after the scales growled at me. I seriously doubt if I will get away without another gain this week but I can only blame myself. I went to the Co-op yesterday for a newspaper and came home with a tub of Mackies icecream and a caramel kitkat!! The icecream was half price but the gain will be full price no doubt! I haven't been good for the rest of the weekend either so I am trying to draw a line under it and start afresh today - hence my new food diary. I know that I can't carry on like this or I will have gained everthing I lost.
 
I know exactly how you feel Jane, I'm looking at the scales this morning and thinking I'll be back where I started if I keep this up so gave myself a good talking to. We can do it, it's hard but we'll get there. We've gotten back on the wagon before and we'll do it again :)
 
aaah jane feel so bad for u know how hard it is to get back on track it's so easy to slip off the rails but really hard to get back on them, hopefully u will get back into the right frame of mind before u do too much damage good luck xxx :grouphugg:
 
HI sweets - big hug... now get the line drawn... get a notepad and write down all your favourite SW meals, bet there are some you've not had in ages, then tomorrow get and plan all your meals for the week, stick some old favourites in there but also look through new mags and get new ideas to keep the plan fresh.

You can and you will do this hun xx

I managed to keep in control yesterday and keeping a diary on here will help I am sure. Can't say that I am looking forward to WI tomorrow but I have only myself to blame. Anyway its a fresh start.
