nikki's diary - closed...... moved over to maintenance to test the water!

i enjoyed my weekend away too much and now i'm in a flap about the scales. i feel like i've given up loosing and have started gaining. argh! need to get back on track seriously. :( we will celebrate valentines day and then i'm on to it big time. i love food and i'll be a heafer if i keep eating it.

on the down side vII i've done my back in! think i was writhing around getting something in and out of the car and lifting things and i've over stretched whilst reaching out in a strange position leaving my back's weak point exposed. been popping pills but they're not touching the pain. i'll be on the phone to the chiropractor tomorrow to try to get an app quick sharp. i really want to do zumba on tuesday this week and if it kills i won't be doing it any time soon. :(:(

Oh no Nikki, hope you get your appointment through fast!! Glad you enjoyed your weekend though! X

been having a problem surf. keep going mega dizzy at times when i drink. if i have one glass of wine or a bottle i get a banging headache and then the following day i feel very dizzy unless i sit still and don't move. then when i feel better it can come on me quickly. tonight hubby was driving home and i had a mega dizzy fit where the whole car felt like it was on a rollercoaster and it was really odd. like someone had my head and was pushing it down and round. i had to look at something else and change my thoughts. feel like i'm going to be sick when it happens. hubby said.... it sounds like a normal hangover to me. don't know what to think but since starting prozac it's been happening and i think that it's not a good mix. bleurgh.

Probably not a good mix, especially on low cal diet. Have you looked it up on the net? Could be something more?

Have I heard you say you have thyroid problems and Anemia in the past? Both can cause dizzy spells.

A rare side effect if Prozac and anti-depressants in general is intolerance to alcohol, so it might just be that you're unlucky and it causes you to be intolerant.

this is what i'm thinking too. i've been reading up on it and :( it's a horrible experience and makes me grumpy until my head stop sending me dizzy.

valentines day today then back to it 100% and then some. need and want to loose more quickly. back's bad. been to the chiropractor today. have sprained it but should be fine with ice. take it easy for 3 weeks i was told. yeah! i can't miss zumba or running etc etc. :(

going to do a zumba teaching course, probably may time. can't wait.

Glad your back isn't anything more serious, I was worried it might be a disc or trapped nerve or something.

Woo hoo to the zumba teaching!!! :D you'll be ace at it because you've got the enthusiasm. My zumba instructor is fab cos you can tell she really enjoys it. God you're gonna be super super SUPER fit :D I think it's so popular that it'll be full no matter how many classes are in the area people love it so much!! :D

i can't wait. :D feel mega excited as zumba makes me feel amazingly good. i can't get enough of it. i would love a friday morning class but there's not one that i know going close enough or not in a dodgy area (they do one at the neptune pool but B hills i don't know if my car would still be there when i came out!). think 1 evening for 2 hours and twice during the day for 2 hours a time. 6 hours a week :) that's 3000 cals.

He he I go to the Neptune one on a Thursday night, it's well rough, but so far no ones nicked my car, despite me leaving the keys in and a big sign saying free to good hone lol. I think during the day it's fine. And the instructor is fab :D

might have to do the fri morning one there then. bought a zumba top today. i just couldn't resist it any longer the call was too much. it came on saturday and i've just ordered another one today. i'll probably end up bulging out of the racer back but i just want to have a few tops for it. very comfortable. bought an XL. fits fine, not too tight, not too loose. wanted it a little looser cause of the racer back bulge prob.

got the purple and black one and today i ordered the red hearty party one.

I LOVE ZUMBA RACERBACK TOP PURPLE ZUMBAWEAR UK STOCK on eBay (end time 17-Feb-11 12:33:34 GMT) and
BNWT ZUMBA PARTY HEARTY TOP SIZE 16-18 FREE P & P IN UK on eBay (end time 14-Feb-11 11:17:40 GMT)

really like the red pants that go with it BUT the cost is ri Zumba Party Hearty Cargo Pants Zumbawear Dance size XL on eBay (end time 20-Feb-11 02:25:21 GMT).

Ooh I like!! You can totally justify those purchases because you'll need to look the part when you're an instructor lol.

i'm think that the trousers and the top will look too much and i might be better just going for black as they'd go with both my tops. the USA tops are far better than the ones they're selling here. more choice that is, not physically better in any other way.

Black will go with both for sure :)

I wouldn't know where to start trying to choose lol, those pants are nice!!

Hey Nikki

While you are taking a break from Zumba start doing some core muscle work as research has shown this is the reason most people's back pain comes back after the initial sprain/strain injury. For some reason the core muscle triggering timing becomes a bit off kilter meaning it doesn't engage at the right time when you do things that should use it e.g. reaching away from your body etc.. this means the back muscles then take that strain .. something they are not designed to do. Core muscle exercises help retrain the muscles to engage properly.

hi gg

i do core stability twice a week. i think that part of the problem was last thursday's core class. different instructor and it was rubbish. i could feel my back hurting as i did it, on the stability ball.

ooh.. that doesn't sound good at all.
