Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

I'm going to shave before hand .. I'm too much of a wimp to get a wax but I definitely will keep it tidy down there . I will probably plait all my hair back out of my face and then tie it in a pony tail so it's not in the way while I'm getting all hot and sweaty pushing lol .. Il probably have my toenails done too just because it makes me feel better about myself and a bit of mascara and tinted moisturiser maybe xx What's everyone's experience with maternity clothes like , have you found them true to size or do you find you need to go up/ down a size ? My jeans are beginning to really dig in now and I'm feeling really uncomfortable . I also have an Xmas party in December so was thinking of getting a maternity dress as I imagine il be a bit bigger by then . I don't know whether to go with my normal size or not?

I've found them to be quite generous sizes. I've got mothercare and new look things and have gone for my own size and some are a bit loose.

Girls... does anyone know how MrsLMC (Laura) is?? She's been gone for 2 weeks and I'm a bit worried about her to be honest :( I hope it's just because she's too busy for minis (at the end of the day, we all have lives other than minis) but just a little worried. Hope she's alright xx

I've been thinking the same. I know she has her hands full with the little ones. Xx

Yup.. I agree with Sarah.. I've New Look work over the bump work trousers and got a 14 (was just fitting in a 14 when I got my BFP) and they're hanging off me... I have the elastics at the sides pulled right in too.. But am going round with a saggy bum lol

Saying that.. I bought a maternity skater dress in Asos in size 14 and its MAHOOOOSIVE... I think even when am full term it'll be too big...

Its a really hard one trying to think ahead for Christmas parties etc as you just can't tell at what rate bump will grow...

I hope that's all it is x hope her and baby are alright xx

I used hair removed cream from about 6 months but about 3 week before my DD I either left it on too long or had a slight reaction cos I burnt slightly. So I kept up to it with a razor... That wasn't too bad... However now I can't do anything as super scared to catch a stitch or summat so now I'm embarrassed lol. I know in advance about my appointments and also know I'm sporting a right bush lol. Plus I don't have a bump hiding it from me ha ha gutted!!

Hope Laura is good too! Does anyone have her mob num?

And regarding mat clothes - I didn't buy many but a skirt I got from next got too small at about 33 weeks cos it had no give in it whatsoever. :-/ xx

I haven't really gotten any maternity stuff yet... before pregnancy, I lived in dresses, tights and heels or instead of tights - leggings. I find tights and leggings still really comfy during pregnancy and they still fit around my tummy which is good. Luckily, my dresses still fit fine - it's just now they have to accommodate a belly! I'm all sorts of sizes though so I'm wary of buying maternity stuff because I'm not an "average" size to start off with. In normal clothes: dresses, I can get away with a 12, mostly. Leggings a 14, trousers a 14, probably even a 16 now. Tops, 12-14. I'm all sorts of sizes in different shops and buying Jeans or trousers) I struggle with enough without adding maternity clothes into the mix lol.

Some maternity dresses are ok, but some of them I didn't like in terms of the shape. I HAVE to wear things that flatter my waist, as it's the only small thing about me lol so I've been buying normal clothes, in a bigger size. Saying that, I bought an ASOS dress recently - not maternity or anything in a 14 and it was bloomin' huge on me?! Looked hideous. So, for me at least I'm just going to try and live in what I have until baby is here lol it's too much hassle otherwise. I have no idea what size I am anymore! x

Sorry, that's not helpful at all...it's turned into more of a rant LOL! xx

I wore dresses with tights to work but as they were above the knee dresses.. now there's a bump, albeit a lickle bump, they've hitched up a tad and I couldn't walk around with a bump n short(er) dress... Imagine the looks.....

Thanks girls it's annoying cuz I don't want to buy too much because I plan on losing the weight straight away after baby is here so don't want to waste money on maternity clothes that are only going to be worn a short time .
I might just look for clothes the next size up rather than maternity wear . My problem is I'm so short anything in a bigger size just drowns me I only have short legs but then my boobs have gone bloody massive ( hello stretch marks :( ..) ahhh I hate clothes shopping ! None of my clothes in my wardrobe fit anymore so I'm living in tshirts and leggings not feeling too glam at all but then hey pregnancy is hardly glamorous lol!

Ouch, biggest cat has just launched herself at my belly and did a backflip of it, its hurts :(

I've bought a pair of skinny jeans. A pair of work trousers n that dress in maternity. Trying to limit it as like you, wana get back to my "normal" clothes as quickly as possible do don't wana waste money. N if iv enough clothes to git my bigger size ill just escalate!!

Ooh shenzi sounds painful :(

I pretty much lived in dresses before I got pregnant too but they're like yours, too short at the front. And maternity dresses tend to be shapeless. I bought a newlook one and it's not great but looks ok with a cardigan. Got a blue lace skater style one from said and it's brilliant and flattering. Just goes to show!

Ladies...I have a clothing question which might sound really stupid, but If I don't ask then I won't ever know and don't want to mess it up lol. This is so embarrassing...but...

I'm getting so confused between the difference of a vest, bodysuit and sleepsuit. The sleepsuit I get - that's what they sleep in right? But are bodysuits/vests the same thing? Is that what they wear underneath their clothes?? :\ sorry, I'm really lacking in common sense at the minute lol xx

Aww no ur not at all. It's all confusing. Between sleep suits, babygrows, romper suits.....
Bodysuits as far as I can tell are just the long sleeve vests...

Thanks hun I'm just so confused...so body suits and vests you can wear underneath clothes? You wouldn't wear them on their own?

Are they all the same? lol I was thinking because my sis said most people will buy baby clothes, and how will I know the difference between what they sleep in and what they wear during the day... it all looks the same :\ lol x

Yea they go under yer clothes.
Babygrows n sleepsuits are great for chilling in the day n sleeping. I plan on having baby in them for the few months. Unless we've a special occasion I'm gona keep her out of "clothes" as it can't b comfy laying in restricting clothes all day. That's just my opinion tho. I also wana see he in all cute little dresses etc but her comfort is more important :)
I've got sum little leggings n tops too for popping too see j's mam n that so she's still comfy but dressed...

PS... I had the same Q's a few weeks back so went on the hunt to find out lol
