Don't know if it's coincidence, or I'm just having a crappy day...but I think I've entered the joy of the 3rd trimester 3 days too early. :\

Banging headache, little short of breath and the nausea seems to have returned in waves today :( I feel pooped!!!

Baby's wriggling away happily though lol x

I'v had shortness of breath almost from the get go of being pregnant but never realised all first trimester return for third?? I thought it was just the tiredness (later on) and a few new issues... First being back pain!!!?????

Congrats on all the second and third babies!

Princess have you had your bloods done yet? If not when are they? Could be a little anaemic? Drink plenty water and dont overdo it. Also, have you been getting enough sleep?
X

Oh really? I'm only just starting to get it, and I'm assuming it's because my uterus is quite high up now so things are beginning to get squashed - including my lungs! I'm also back on small portions of food - again - I think that's my tummy getting squished aswell.

I've heard that some first trimester niggles can return, I'm DEFINITELY feeling more tired than usual and have been for the past week or so. I definitely had that 2nd trimester (apart from the sickness) "glowing" phase from about week 18 up until around week 25 where I felt brilliant, not that tired etc. I've just noticed a bit of a decline in how I'm feeling physically the last few days, and I don't know if that's coincidence or because I'm v close to the 3rd trimester now.?? xx

I'm trying to think when I had my last lot of bloods taken... in any case they were all fine but that may have been a while ago. MW didn't take bloods at my 25 week appointment last week, but BP and urine was perfect. Due to see MW again in 2 weeks time for 28 week appointment (I also have my GTT and whooping cough jab) - I know they will take blood for my GTT but I don't know if she'll check for anything else? It's probably me just having a bad week or things growing - I've definitely definitely had a growth spurt this week, my bump appears as though it's grown overnight! xx

Sleep-wise I haven't really slept since 2 days before I found out I was pregnant... I've gotten used to it though. I wake quite a few times a night, I don't necessarily get up, but I'm awake multiple times and have turned into a light sleeper! x

Also? Isn't anaemia due to iron levels or something? (I'm very clueless!) lol if so MW said at my 16w appointment that my iron levels were very good xx

Yea.. MW said shortness of breath was just all the extra blood the heart is pumping around...
I definitely skipped the glowing phase!! lol.. Nothing glowing about me.. My skin is rubbish.. more than normal!! Nails do grow quicker tho and sare stonger.. Hairs not got the shine!! Nope.. The glowing phase definitely skipped me...
Tiredness wise I've been fine.. Not sleeping great (due to peeing) so am tired come 10ish but that'd be the case pregnant or not obviously..
I thought the tiredness wouldn't kick back in until late in the third trimester and never realised the sickness etc would come back :(
All my apps used to mention the tiredness leaving, but to return but nothing else really... Booo... :(

I think iron levels can take a dip in the second trimester if I'm correct???
But you're taking pregnacare aren't you??? They contain 17mg of iron... x

Oh really lol!
Ah well ya can't have it all ;) That's what you get for having no food aversions! lol That really was the worst part for me, not being able to walk into my kitchen without heaving because I couldn't stand the sight of my fridge(!?!?!) I've been very lucky with skin, only had a few little blemishes on my chin in 1st tri, but it's been great ever since. Hair has been its normal self.

I've no idea...I remember a similar post from our Sarah though at 28 weeks saying she doesn't know if it's a coincidence but she was feeling tired etc again... I don't know if the sickness comes back, but I remember Laura saying she'd been a bit sick. I'm hoping it doesn't come back... but I have noticed some nausea in the mornings again...started Sunday but I just thought that was because I'd had a busy day on the Saturday and it was just my body's way of trying to recover lol x

Yeah I take pregnacare every day and my food has been a lot better since 90% of the sickness stopped at about 16 weeks. I can now each fruit, veg, meat, all sorts so in theory my diet should be a lot better xx

Ha ha.. I suppose.. I couldn't get away completely scot free... LOL
I was so glad I never had food aversions or sickness to the extent of you girlies... Poor J would have faded away if I couldn't cook for him.. Either than or ballooned into a blimp from living on take aways.. lol
Am off on the google hun to check out the third trimester... You're scaring me.. LOL

LOL here you go those of you who are in or are approaching the 3rd trimester....sounds amazing lol.....

Third trimester pregnancy: Your body

As your baby grows, his or her movements will become more obvious. These exciting sensations are often accompanied by increasing discomfort and other third trimester pregnancy symptoms.

Continued breast growth
By now, you might have an additional 2 pounds (nearly 1 kilogram) of breast tissue. As delivery approaches, your nipples could start leaking colostrum — the yellowish fluid that will nourish your baby during the first few days of life.

Weight gain
By your due date, expect to weigh 25 to 35 pounds (about 11 to 16 kilograms) more than you did before pregnancy. Your baby accounts for some of the weight gain, but so do the placenta, amniotic fluid, larger breasts and uterus, extra fat stores, and increased blood and fluid volume.

Braxton Hicks contractions
These contractions are warm-ups for the real thing. They're usually weak and come and go unpredictably. True labor contractions get longer, stronger and closer together. If you're having contractions that are painful or regular, contact your health care provider.

Backaches
As your baby continues to gain weight, pregnancy hormones relax the joints between the bones in your pelvic area. These changes can be tough on your back.
When you sit, choose chairs with good back support. Apply a heating pad or ice pack to the painful area. Ask your partner for a massage. Wear low-heeled — but not flat — shoes with good arch support. If the back pain doesn't go away or is accompanied by other signs and symptoms, contact your health care provider.

Shortness of breath
You might get winded easily as your uterus expands beneath your diaphragm, the muscle just below your lungs. This might improve when the baby settles deeper into your pelvis before delivery. In the meantime, practice good posture and sleep with your upper body propped up on pillows to relieve pressure on your lungs.

Heartburn
During the third trimester, your growing uterus might push your stomach out of its normal position — which can contribute to heartburn. To keep stomach acid where it belongs, eat small meals and drink plenty of fluids between meals. Avoid fried foods, carbonated drinks, citrus fruits or juices, and spicy foods. If these tips don't help, ask your health care provider about antacids.

Swelling
As your growing uterus puts pressure on the veins that return blood from your feet and legs, swollen feet and ankles might become an issue. At the same time, swelling in your legs, arms or hands can place pressure on nerves, causing tingling or numbness. Fluid retention and dilated blood vessels might leave your face and eyelids puffy, especially in the morning. If you have persistent face or eyelid swelling, contact your health care provider.
To reduce swelling, lie down or use a footrest. You might even elevate your feet and legs while you sleep. It can also help to swim or simply stand in a pool.

Spider veins, varicose veins and hemorrhoids
Increased blood circulation might cause tiny red veins, known as spider veins, to appear on your skin. Blue or reddish lines beneath the surface of the skin (varicose veins) also might appear, particularly in the legs. Varicose veins in your rectum (hemorrhoids) are another possibility.
If you have painful varicose veins, elevate your legs and wear support stockings. To prevent hemorrhoids, avoid constipation. Include plenty of fiber in your diet and drink lots of fluids.

Frequent urination
As your baby moves deeper into your pelvis, you'll feel more pressure on your bladder. You might find yourself urinating more often, even during the night. This extra pressure might also cause you to leak urine — especially when you laugh, cough or sneeze. If you're worried about leaking urine, panty liners can offer a sense of security.
Continue to watch for signs of a urinary tract infection, such as urinating even more than usual, burning during urination, fever, abdominal pain or backache. Left untreated, urinary infections increase the risk of pregnancy complications.

Vaginal discharge
Potentially heavy vaginal discharge is common at the end of pregnancy. If you saturate a panty liner within a few hours or wonder if the discharge is leaking amniotic fluid, contact your health care provider.

lol! We must have been doing the exact same thing... just posted a load of info! xx

What i've found is just about baby and what's happening there... Pretty fricken awesome.. Its from the "what to expect" website if anyone wants to research further... :
It may feel as if there's no way your belly can get any bigger, but there's no doubt about it — your belly will get bigger over the course of the third trimester of pregnancy. A lot bigger (surprise!). Your little one will get a whole lot larger too as he grows from about 2 1/2 pounds and 16 inches long (in week 28 of pregnancy) to between six and nine pounds and 19 to 22 inches long in week 40. He'll also be test-driving some nifty skills like blinking and dreaming and regulating his own body temperature. By week 31 of pregnancy he'll get signals from all five senses, perceiving light and dark, tasting what you eat, and listening to the sound of your voice (I hear you, Mommy!).; By week 32 of pregnancy, his formerly see-through skin will become opaque. He may grow an inch in week 33 alone, so don't be surprised if his increase in size — paired with a decrease in living space — leads to some serious kicks and pokes in the gut for you.

During week 34 of pregnancy a baby boy's testicles start their downward journey from abdomen to scrotum (bon voyage!). A baby's noggin turns southward too, settling into a heads-down, bottom-up position. By week 36, you've got about a six-pounder in there, with fat continuing to accumulate (Look Mom, I'm gaining too!). Two weeks to go in week 38 as your baby sheds his vernix (the waxy substance that protects his skin from your amniotic fluid) and lanugo (the hairy coat that keeps him warm in there). All's pretty quiet through week 39, though you may find yourself waddling as your little bundle drops even lower in your pelvis. Week 40 of pregnancy: Congrats! Even though you may not have delivered, you've made it to the official end of your pregnancy. Latecomers (at least 50 percent of all babies) may not be ready for their big debut until week 41 or even week 42, but hang in there.

With that busy baby inside your belly, you're probably feeling lots of fetal activity. You may also be experiencing (totally normal) abdominal achiness and maybe even a few Braxton Hicks contractions as you get closer to the end of the third trimester. There may be some varicose veins and stretch marks (badges of courage!), but try to keep your eye on the prize: your beautiful baby whom you'll meet in just a month or so! Chances are you're having some crazy dreams and some clumsy moments, along with a temporary lack of bladder control (you sneeze = you pee!). As D-day approaches, your breasts may leak (your milk machine's warming up) and you may experience false labor symptoms . Not to worry. You'll know the real thing when it happens, signaled by the bloody show, your water breaking, and contractions that intensify, rather than diminish, the more you move around.

At checkups, expect tests for glucose levels, anemia, and group B strep during months seven and eight. In month nine, your practitioner will perform an internal examination of your cervix to see if effacement and dilation (respectively, the thinning and opening of your cervix) have begun. Getting excited? You should be — it won't be long now until you meet your baby!

Yes anaemia is effectively low iron levels. It's often what's called dilutional anaemia...ie. the amount of blood in your body increases by half when you're pregnant. However, the watery liquid stuff increases first and red cell bit which carries the oxygen is last to increase, so you have less red cells floating around in a given amount of blood... And hence can leave you feeling tired and short of breath. tends to resolve itself fairly rapidly, as your bone marrow releases lots of iron to help your body make new red cells, but, if your iron stores are low anyway, less red cells are released.
So, what you need to do is...
Plenty of water rather than tea and coffee as they stop the body absorbing iron that's in all the food you eat
Green leafy veg, broccoli, sprouts etc have loads of iron in
Have plenty of citrus fruit/juice as vitamin c helps absorb iron
Dark chocolate also has iron in!
Dried apricots, and certain nuts etc have quite a bit in as well
Red meat is also good but liver is a no no as am sure you all know!

3rd trimester can be hard work but it means you're nearly there!
When are you all finishing work? I found I felt much better once I had finished. Couldn't sleep well overnight, always awake at 4am for hrs, but once had finished work and hubby had gone to work, used to fall asleep around 8am for a few hrs and started feeling much better! Plus towards the end hubby ended up sleeping in the spare room as he got no sleep due to me complaining he snored...we've been together 7 years and never noticed before-or since! :)

Hi ladies

I'm in third trimester and am definitely way more tired than a few weeks back. I assumed this was normal and so just adapting really. I find it need a good rest at the weekend to get through the working week. I had my bloods done at 28 weeks. Get the results next week although mw did say that if iron levels were low they'd get in touch sooner so assuming all is ok because am 31 weeks next week.

X
