Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

The last couple of weeks I have noticed that I have become more and more breathless and struggle to breathe. Even just getting out of bed....I mean LITERALLY the most basic things...leave me out of breath.

I have also been snoring for the last couple of weeks now apparently and REALLY REALLY loudly...hubby is constantly waking me to change the position im sleeping in etc but nothing works and its leaving us both frustrated :( I dont know what to do as I dont usually snore like that. We're both convinced its to do with not having the use of my full lung capacity where uterus is higher etc as he says even my breathing when im asleep is different and louder (like im struggling....). He does listen closely before waking me up to check I dont stop breathing or anything (apnoea)...and that doesnt seem to happen which is good

Meh...just dont know what to do

I'm not finishing work til feb. jess finishes up at Christmas.
Joey ur already sleeping on a couple of pillows for hb aren't ya??
Was gona say I've read to sleep elevated so ur lungs aren't so squished when laying down. Wud help breathing n snoring lol

Third trimester is hard work, at just under 36 weeks I'm feeling pretty done for! :/ I find myself getting out of breath when I'm lying down and sitting up quickly is enough to make me feel winded. I get tired mega quickly, have had so many naps in the car over the last few days as I find even just walking around town or shopping hard work. It's not been as bad as the first tri exhaustion for me but a different kind of tiredness I guess. Some of it is probably the crutches with me as it's tiring to walk around with them but I think a lot of it is just being heavily pregnant and a bit knackered ;)

I have been taking iron tablets since I was found to be anaemic at 28 weeks, I think I'm due another blood test next week to see how my levels are? I had great iron levels at booking in so it just shows how much your iron levels can drop by the start of the third tri. For anyone who hadn't heard back regarding their bloods, I wouldn't worry too much if you've not heard anything after a week. They had me on iron tablets within days of my blood test being done so they seem to act quite quickly if you're in need or more iron!

So yeah, I'm definitely in the third trimester and bloody knackered club ;) xxx

I had 3 pillows directly under my head and one under my shoulders and one between my knees and i still struggled!
Missy, at 36 weeks you are so close! Make sure you rest when you can, sleep is so important!
Xx

I tire so easily these days and the backache is a killer. I could literally go to sleep an hour after I get up. My bloods are all fine, I've had more blood taken in the past 4 weeks than ever. I have shortness of breath quite often too. If I need to go upstairs I try to do everything I need to so I don't have to go up again until much later. Baby constantly has it's foot in my right ribs which is also making it far harder to breathe. Third tri is definitely knackering xx

Our entire bed is full of pillows, my poor husband is running out of room lol ;) Two for my head end, one for bump and one between my knees.

I'm trying to get rest but so much still to do! I think I underestimated how rubbish I would feel in the last few weeks and I've left myself with a bit of of a mountain of jobs... It's good in a way tho, takes my mind off things if I'm busy xxx

By all means keep busy but don't overdo it! I finished at 33 weeks cos I had to take the years annual leave before my mat leave started (due to dates and NHS annual leave rules). I did loads of jobs in the first few weeks, things I had wanted to get done and then was bored stiff once I got to 39 weeks! And I still had over 2 weeks to go before she finally arrived! I found I slept a lot tho-make the most of the opportunity though, you don't get much after!

I finished at 33 weeks too, I was supposed to finish at 35 but ended up going early because of the dodgy pelvis and carpal tunnel (I'm a PA so typing was getting tough). So I've already been off nearly three weeks and no signs of getting bored yet lol ;) I'm sure it'll come though! We're definitely enjoying our last few weeks of lie ins... xxx

I'll be nearly 35 weeks when I stop work. Really can't wait! Bf keeps worrying that I will be bored but I really can't see it happening especially with Christmas right in the middle of it. Lots of Christmas films to watch :) guess if babe doesn't come to 42 weeks then I will have 7 weeks off which is a long time but sure I'll cope. Beats working every time ;)

You'll be fine, you'll have Christmas to sort and loads to do. I can't believe it's three weeks since I finished tbh, doesn't seem like five minutes ago. And I was worrying that time would drag!

I did my last shift at 30 and a half weeks pregnant because I had a few days sick then decided to bring it forward by two weeks. My maternity leave doesn't start until December 20th, the rest is annual leave. So glad I did it. I know I won't get bored!! Too much to get done before bubs is here. Nursery needs sorting, I want to deep clean the whole house, car needs a really good going over, wedding stuff to do, things to plan for Tom's 30th....it'll be b-day before I know it ;)

Woohoo... 2 nights where I had no loo stops in the night... Yesterday I slept til 5am n just turned over n made myself last the duration...
TIP: Sleep on yer side, but tilted forward slightly... Was only when I went fully on my side that my bladder got squashed and had a serious pelvic floor test... LOL

Oooh lucky you! I haven't had a no loo stop night in ages! Very very jealous ;)

I have had some brown blood for the last 2 days, the midwife just sounded bored said it was fine and practically but the phone down on me :( I know brown blood is old blood in general but I'm still scared xx

Did you ring the midwife team or PAU? Call back and speak to someone else. Honestly, I've done it. I spoke to one in the team who didn't want to speak to me (could tell!), rang straight back and got another one who was lovely. If you're not happy with what they've told you call again xxx

I'd give owt for a night with no loo breaks! Turning over makes me need the loo so it's a bit tricky lol ;)
