Is anyone else watching children in need :'(

No, done quite enough crying for one day! I know that sounds awful but honestly not sure I could hope. We did make a donation today though. x

Yeah I'm going to donate but I'm going to have to turn it off. Only been in 10 minutes and I'm in pieces already. Totally the wrong thing to watch when pregnant. Will donate tho xx

Definitely, knew I couldn't handle it with the day I've had! It's a fabulous cause though, I try and give them a few quid at least every year xxx

It's the little furry ears I like! I can't wait for her to wear them, they look so cute!

The calendar was right for me! Xx

Don't know yet if the calendar is right for me but it says boy and that's what we think it is. Will know in less than 7 weeks :D

Would someone mind explaining "centiles" to me? I literally have NO clue what this means. Not a smidge.

Next 2 pics are my scan notes...

1st is at 15+3
2nd is at 20+5

Would appreciate any help xx from the little plots I'm worried she's not growing? Or she's on the small side :/ the sonographer said she's within the normal range just a bit smaller. Didn't seem worried tho xx

Basically a centile is a tenth of the average population so the middle line represents what the average baby weighs/length. Now all babies are going to be somewhere along those lines. Yours is below average but I think the main thing they look for is no massive changes between scans.

Worth bearing in mind that they aren't massively accurate either, so no need to be worried. If baby was above average and then stopped making progress then I imagine mw would be more concerned.

My calendar was wrong too :p

Exactly right pj. What they look for is consistent growth, so as your little one is growing steadily that's fine.
Once you hit 26-28 weeks they will start to measure your bump and plot it on a growth chart and again they are looking for steady growth.
If they think baby is slowing down growth wise they will send you for a scan, same as if they think baby is speeding up and getting too big, they will send you for a scan!
There is about a 25% chance they can be inaccurate tho! But it's the best we've got!

Thanks pj and susie x
That explains it :) I just had no idea what it meant, and all I could see were these plots going a little smaller lol wasn't worried because no one else was, but it's nice to know what it all means now. She's growing nicely :)

Yeah I had my bump measurements done at 25 and a half weeks and was measuring 26 so all is well. Got next MW appt in 2 weeks so next measurement will be taken then :)

Thanks girls for explaining it to me xxx

Yes I wouldnt worry too much, with my son they were a little concerned as measurements etc came back that I was having over a 10lb baby! Turned out he was 8lb 5oz.... So god knows how it's mistaken like that :/

Hiya girls. Well I've been awol again, stupid internet stopped working but I've called them again and sorted it out myself. Had to take my phone socket thingy apart and re-wire ha!

Anyway great to see we have some expert advice going on now. Always helps when someone has a bit of professional knowledge I think.

I'm doing grand. Have a very sharp pain at the bottom of my bump for the last few days so I think babys head may be engaged now. Still wriggling about and giving the kids and hubby a good show though.

Jess probably best not to think too much about the size, if your midwife team aren't worried its grand and it looks perfectly normal ranges to me. With my daughter they told me she was 8lb something with 4 weeks to go, she was born the next week at 5lb 13oz so goes to show.

Hope everyone else is well x

Hi :) hope your well!

Ugh typical, hope you didnt have to pay extra for the repairs! x

Bit of an embarrassing one... But... Do any of you get really swollen vulva???
I did the other day and it was so painful for my knickers to touch off it... I went in n lay down feet up against the wall with raised hips (flash backs of TTC lol) and stayed there for about an hour n it eased off but I'd be screwed if I were in work at the time!!!!
Anyone had it?? Or any tips for a less awkward way of treating it??

Not really had it happen, but i have read that swelling is quite common as your uterus gets bigger and heavier...maybe you are just suffering with the swelling down there - are you swelling anywhere else? if putting your legs up helps it suggests it could possibly be fluid accumulating, but you could always ask your midwife just to be sure! Doesn't sound very nice so sorry you are suffering from this! hope it doesn't happen lots for you xx

Ooo poor you. Yes I had it too, can be very sore. Might be TMI but mine was made 100% worse by accidentally getting hair removal cream on it when trying to get tidied up before labour - just a word of caution! I've never been in so much agony!
Anyhow...not much you can do for it really, just congestion of veins etc to growing baby, same as swollen legs and varicose veins.
I found elevating my legs helped and wearing really loose clothing-ended up buying cheap pants about 3 sizes too big as they didnt rub as much.
Goes afterwards tho.
How many weeks are you now? Xx
