Have to agree. Giving birth is going to be far from glamorous. Looking back I'm sure I'll think it was amazing but at the time I think I'll be thinking why did I want this to happen?' Lol x

Lol x yeah there's a lot I didn't know before being pregnant that I certainly do now! lol aspects of pregnancy are wonderful and amazing, but there is also a lot which is just gross lol x

Yeah, it's not without it's grossness! Today I am considering the grim effects of iron tablets... :/

TMI...

One word: Discharge.

How much does my body want to produce?!

Just saying...

A little late joining this but OMG i thought it was bad early on - but it's getting ridiculous! This is a side effect of pregnancy no one mentions!

Is anybody watching one born every minute on more 4? Interesting watch x

I've got a really strong shooting pain that's every few seconds on the right, going from groin to near belly button, is it just stretching?

Sounds like it probably is stretching - round ligament pain is what they call it i think. Try and rest and if it continues speak to your midwife, but i am sure it will pass. I find i get pains if i move too quickly or awkwardly.....guess there is a lot going on inside so bound to get pains.

I used to get that allot when not pregnant.. So it may not be preg related.. Still couldn't tell you what it was tho.. lol
If you're worried, call your MW or GP.. They'll be happy to help :) x

Ok girls a question here - are any of you buying a sling/baby carrier?

I really want one as i just think it'll be a nice option if Mike and I want to go for a walk/shopping without having to faff around with buggy etc, plus we are thinking of having a group holiday to centre parcs with my friends and their babies, so would be nice to have the option of being buggy free while baby is still young as the other babies will probably be toddling by then.

Problem is i have NO idea where to start! Anyone a secret wrap/carrier expert want to offer me some advice?

I don't want to spend a fortune as i am not sure if it will get used as much as i think it will (if it does i will of course consider spending more on a second one), but equally don't want to compromise on baby's comfort. I've been trying to do some research but it's a mindfield - i don't think i am confident enough to use a fabric wrap - i sort of want something that doesn't rely entirely on my tying or wrapping it.

Any help much appreciated :)

Sorry hun.. No intention of getting one.. So no help at all.. But didn't wana read n run.. xx

I have a baby carrier. Its the one with the shoulder straps and back support. I love it. Its great and handy for when you even have other kids. I bought mine as we have a really long lane to leave our bins out to be emptied. I couldn't manage the bin and baby so really got it for that, but I've used it for going to footy matches, shopping and all sorts. Very handy. I'll get even more use this time because I can still have my 2 year old in the pram and baby in the sling when I need too. Definately get one with a back support though as they can be heavy little blitters ;)

I will see if I can get Cake over here from my diary as she's done baby wearing in the past with her other kids I think! The other option is to find a local sling library (google for one in your area), they're usually run by baby wearing mums and they have a selection of different style slings and wraps you can borrow and try out.

I'm planning on getting a moby wrap or similar (the stretchy fabric ones), not for wearing out necessarily but for wearing round the house if baby wants to be held but I need my hands free. Then if I start to feel confident with it I might use it out too. Colin's really into the idea, he doesn't really like pushchairs after being hit in the ankles one too many times so he's really up for a bit of baby wearing. ;)

I'm definitely no expert but have picked up a bit from some Facebook groups I'm on. Will send you links if you like, the ladies on there know tonnes! A lot of people seem to like the close caboo for tiny babies so it's worth having a look at that one I would say. xxx

Ooh thanks Laura, i am hoping i would make use of one - they just seem to be a nice alternative to a buggy, especially in the chilly Feb/March weather....i like the idea of baby being close to me (or Mike if he's up to wearing it too) rather than getting chilly in a buggy.

Aww thanks Missy, i found a FB group for my local area sling library so will have a good old read of that site tonight. If you have any others i'd appreciate the links :) If you want to find me on FB i'm Kim Lea (profile photo of me in purple bridesmaid dress with hubby next to me - i'm friends with Jess and Frances so you might find me that way :) or feel free to PM me the links) Will check out the close caboo - i am just worried that i wont pick one thats suitable from birth as thats when i would like to start using it. I also like the look of the moby wrap - will have a better look at that but definitely agree you need to get confident with it. I agree buggies can be a bit of a nightmare when out, so if i had the option of wearing baby it would be much simpler than struggling with buggy and driving it in to people etc.

Jonathan would NEVER wear one in a million years.. Nor would i!
But Jonathan is also not allowed push my pram... LOL... So jonathan will only be allowed take baby out in my car to his Mam's... Or when he's with me :D

haha, Mike enjoyed pushing my niece around in her pushchair a little bit too much - he was pushing it like it was a racing car...even doing sound effects as he went round corners....such a child! lol. I text mike today saying "would you wear baby in a baby sling/carrier" i bet he had to google what it was before he responded, but surprisingly he actually said he would like to carry baby! We shall see! I have to confess there is something that melts my heart when i see a man wearing a baby in a sling so i hope he does take his turn to wear baby. :)

Oh I love seeing a man with a baby in a sling, it's just too cute <3 I can't wait to see Colin with one!

Kim - will add you on fb and then I should be able to add you to the group! If you post there pretty much what you have done here they should be able to help. The group is for selling slings under £100 as well so you might also be able to pick up a bargain :) xxx
