Quins; back to the plan.

Hi texty ,

It's all going like a mad thing...can't believe my son has finished 2 years at Hartpury College, Gloucester. Can't believe my eldest daughter has finished her first year at. Bath Spa Uni...can't believe the youngest has finished first year of A levels. Still driving youngest around to all the sports training , runnjng, swimming , pistol shoot and x country equine. Had a wasted journey today, son back from college but still plays rugby league for the Gloucester University side, got as far as Swindon then heard they cancelled the game. I won't complain as it was against the North east Academy, they play at Gateshead so have a longer trip....
Kids have had joint birthday party at home ( in our Garden) it was like Glastonbury, tents everywhere and a couple of casualties.....

Still riding with my club San Fairy Ann CC, did 100 miles last Sunday, great ride.

Still hitting the scales at 12'9 , eating more or less what I like but it's so drilled in to be thoughtful about food that I usually make good enough choices, let alone using between 1500-2500 calories in riding.

Can't wait for holiday, yet again it's scheduled around sporting events so we can't get to Cornwall until last week August 1st week september. Almost Autunm!

How's you guys doing?

Hi Quins... Wow you have it all going on there and then some lol, I'm ok still plodding on gotta have yet another MRI on my back and then see an anaesthetist for possible injections rather than surgery ? who knows how long I will wait!! I'm am on countdown to baby arriving now he is due 7 weeks today eek lol . The weather has been cracking here but not sat out in it due to being at work grrr . I'm off to York for a couple of days with hubby next week so hope it stays hot ?

Woah! Baby? Who's having a baby? Texty , I know I'm a bit behind but? Love your picture by the way.

I feel for you on your quest to sort your back out. It is an epic journey trying to find answers. You will get there. You must have immense will power Texty, dieting and pain! That's a great combo, you'd make a good cyclist.

Just weighed after a ride with the fast group, I'm done in, 66 miles undulating that averaged out at 17.3 mph., weighed in at 12'7 after 4 bike bottles drunk and a huge beef and tomato roll. I was sweating so much as we stopped at a junction I un lipped my right foot, shook my head to get rid if the stinging salt in my right eye , leant left and fell to the ground as I still had my left foot clipped in, a stationary fall! Made everyone laugh though...

Hey Texty, I'm still here! Been so busy with kids ( young adults!), sports, work etc over summer. Only a week back from hols in Cornwall too. Feeling the need to get back into some sw green and red days as I can feel the Cornish pasties and cider sitting heavy lol. Won't take me long to get back on track but suffering a chest infection from bashing myself up bike riding in wet and wind on holidays. ( along with body boarding for hours!). Going to be busy with Uni runs, taking one to a Gloucester today, another goes back to Bath next week then youngest has booked us in for uni open days starting with Liverpool on the 27th. Don't know how we are affording the diesel money!

How's it all with you guys?
X

Good to see you back Quins - and hope you had a lovely holiday?

Its amazing how easy it is to get out of the routine and start feeling yuk isnt it! Even after a couple of days off the plan I feel a difference and cant wait to get back on it.

Sounds like you've not had or going to have time to turn around, I hope the infection clears up quickly. Make the most of the good weather for biking.

I have been working as usual and becoming a Nanna lol Jackson Thomas King was born at 9.43 last night he is gorgeous :) So now their work begins haha x

Hi Happyholidays, Texty, it's good to be back! I will be riding through the winter, the club rides all the way through. Last year we lost some rides due to flooding and if it gets icy it's usually cancelled for safety reasons. ( I'm pleased about that!). I was hoping to get a different bike for winter,I have to shelve that idea as we have to look to buy a horse for my youngest to compete on, kids come first.....

I've been looking after the small holding since Monday, really enjoying it. A bit of tidying up around the paddock, burning old hay and nettles in the pig pen, funding time for bike rides, taking old lawn mower and stuff to the dump, getting loads of little chores done. I even got a Drs appointment, woohoo...turns out I've got a muscle spasm in mid back, couldn't get a deep breath without pain and thought it could be in my lung. Pain killers and I'm going to do stretches.

Congratulations Texty nanna! That is lovely news!

Hi nana Texty. Ha , you are loving it! Yes it's hectic as usual. Managed to get away from work and get down to St Mary's Uni in Twickenham to watch the rugby league match against University of Gloucestershire, son was playing for the Gloucester 1st team. Fixture was changed from A game in Swansea to Teuckdnham, just a train rude from London so had to go.

Mrs had to take the little 'un (17) to swim squad training instead of me.... Loads of stress with in laws, poor sods, both got cancers! Both got appointments in different hospitals on the same days, both got complications...my mrs and sisters are flat out.

How you getting on with your back? Met a friend at the match today who is suffering, already had some vertebra fused, still getting loads of oain. Possible allergy to the metal they used, doesn't get in with morphing patches. She is beside herself.

I do actually love it lol hes a little treasure bless him.

Wow - its all going on for you and yours. Sorry to hear about the in laws bad timing with the appointments. Its not easy getting appointments changed either cos they could wait months for a new one.

My next appointment for my back is Nov 26th to see the consultant so that will mean more waiting to see the anaethetist for my injections grrr. Ive had 3 MRI's now and im no further forward. Ouch your friend sounds as though she is having a rough time too bless her!

I had an op on my big toe years ago to take out the joint and put a silicone one in, I was allergic to it, so they removed it and put a metal pin in which then began to protrude through my skin, so they then removed it and grafted bone from my hip into my toe as bone continues to grow so they hoped it would fuse.

They gave me no physio and told me they had done all they could. I now cant bend my toe at all, and the bone continues to grow so I have a bony lump on the top of my foot which is painful and unsightly. They wont take me in to shave it down because it will grow back. Its a killer trying to buy comfy footwear grrr x
