Ria-Lou's round 2 - Determind to get the weight off this year!

Oh well Monday again!
Weekend was good, went to in-laws in Saturday night for the mother of all buffets! My plate consisted of salmon, gammon slices, salad, x1 slice of the most amazing bread and a few potato wedges that pops-in-law did himself as he knew we were on a good eating plan! But then pudding was..... Triple chocolate cheesecake!!! I only had a small slice and balanced it out with a big helping of fruit salad! Sunday then started off with another big helping of fruit salad for breakfast before a trip to the farm shop for sausages, beef brisket for the slow cooker and x2 very naughty (but very yummy) pork pies!!! After we returned home from the supermarket too, we had a white warburtons roll with ham and cranberry sauce, a babybell and half a pie each, tea was also a bit naughty as it was pork and apple sausage toad in the hole! The was served with lots off steamed carrots and broccoli!

I got up this morning to find that the batteries in the scales have gone so an unable to weigh in this morning!
Eats today are:-
Before B- x2 cups of hot water and lemon
B- x1 35g multigrain porridge with skimmed milk
S- BBQ chicken fridge raiders
L- the cafe are promoting Get Active week here so are doing some SW lunches, today is butternut squash an bacon stew
S- banana, kiwi and clementine with a toffee muller
T- x1 small whole steak mini pie, boiled potatoes and veg

Hope the girlies have a lovely start to the week! Xxx

Happy Monday lovely!!! Your weekend sounds fabulous and very foodalicious :)
Love that the cafe are doing SW friendly meals... if only more places did that!!! xxx

Aaww thank you sweetie, are you feeling better this week?
It's mainly because a few of the girls in the cafe are on SW and we are based in a campus that is big on Sports and Healthy eating etc, so they are going to see how they sell and then they may do them more often.
I had butternut squash, bacon and sweet potato stew and it was absolutley yummy! :eat:

Happy Tuesday afternoon peeps. :wavey:

Well it's been a bit of an ok day today, work not too busy but we've had system problems since yesterday so it's difficult to get on things, so things are still un-finished from yesterday and will probably remain that way till tomorrow!

I've been for a walk at lunch to stock up on things - M&S have got small pots of natural and unsweeted greek yogurt on offer - usually 50p, but are 4 for £1 I think, large peeled prawns are also on offer which you can mix and match with deli and cheese things, so I've bought some BBq chicken slices that i can have as a snack or in my salad during the week. I've also got some Chocolate, popcorn and pecan bars, that are only about 5 syns I think as I'm running low on Hi-fi's.

Eats today are:-
Pre breakfast - x1 cup of hot lemon water
B - Overnight oats, with raspberry and cranberry muller and fresh raspberries,
S - Rocky road Hi-fi, pear
L - Tomato, veg and lentil soup -portion from out of the freezer
S - Left over rasps and clementines and a small pot of unsweetened greek yogurt
T - Cant wait for this - slow cooked (6 hours!!) beef brisket joint, with carrots and mushrooms in beef and ale sauce (asda packet but doesn't work out too bad i dont think) served with boiled potatos - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :eat:

Yay it's hump day tomorrow and nearly the end of January - where's that gone???

Hope my lovelies are having a good day
Speak soon

Your food sounds AMAZING today!!! What does the beef brisket look like? I shop at Asda but haven't seen it. What is the hot lemon water like? Everyone is going mad for it at the moment.
Thank goodness for the end of January... I'm not a big fan if January. Roll on Summer :) xxx

Mmmm brisket is one of my fave things! Dave slow cooks it in stock (with red wine if we're not being good!) and it just falls apart. Amazing with mash and veggies! xxx

Aaw thank you - beef brisket is normally a beef joint, the local Asda to us sometimes has them, but we get ours from the butchers. Hot lemon water is lush - I've been having x1 or x2 first thing in the morning and then another x1 or 2 later in the afternoon, my skin already looks better and clearer although a red lump has just popped up but I think thats due to AF who is due this week :(
I'm not a massive fan of January either - I'm on countdown for the jollies which is helping to keep me on track.

I loooooooooooooooooove it too - I cant wait to get home and smell it when we open the door, and I'm hoping 6 hours in the slow cooker on low will make it fall apart.

Happy HUMP DAY peoples!!!

Well the beef brisket didn't turn out too bad, although we did have to shove it in the oven to finish off - maybe 6 hours on low wasn't enough - still after half an hour in the oven - it was served and eaten within about 10 minutes - it was lush (as Tom Kerridge would say!!)

Todays eats tonight will depend on the weather - we are meant to be going to Boundry Mill and then Ian said he would take me to Whitby's Fish and Chip restaurant :ashamed0005: but then they've forecast snow AGAIN!! So we'll see!

Pre breakfast - x1 hot water and lemon
B - 35G Bran Flakes and banana
S - Pear
L - Oven cooked salmon with x1 tbsp. sweet chilli sauce and soy with stir fried vegetables
S - Double choc hi-fi
T - as above

Drinks today are x1 hot lemon water, x1 small cup of tea, x1 orange crush so far.

Hope everyone has a lovely hump day.

Happy hump day lovely :) I'm going to get some lemons today and try them in hot water. Will keep an eye out for the brisket too. We got to Boundary Mill regularly for home stuff... you must not be too far from us! xxx

I normally cut the lemon up and have 2 slices in each cup, but then I normally 're-use' them at least once.
Our Boundry Mill is at Catcliffe in Rotherham.

Well the afternoon has turned out a bit ooops!

Went down to M&S at lunch with the hubster to get a few bits - mainly bread and milk (in case we get snowed in tonight!!) and snuck in a bar of their bubbly milk chocolate , I was going to ignore it and take it home but have ended up eating it this afternoon :break_diet::booboo:

We've decided that due to the declining weather that we wont be going to the fish and chips resturant tonight and going home instead. So not sure what we will be having for tea.

Thursday update - Well we woke up to snow again today and it's snowed heavy all morning, now it's a bit sunny but is clouding over again and they've forecasted heavy snow from 2-5pm. The buses have been pulled this morning and are only just getting back to normal, so I'm thinking that if I stay here till 6, we will have to walk home!

As we had to walk down to the bottom of the hill for the bus, I havent packed anything for lunch or snacks today.
So far today I've had

A Weetabix toffee dazzler on the bus
x2 slices of brown toast, x2 pieces of bacon and x1 halves of beef tomato
A portion of SW bolognese and white pasta

so far now more snacks to be had so will have to make do with a lot of fruit tea!

Hope everyone else is having a better or alright day.

Oh I so need to get a GRIP this week! :argh::whip::gen144: for the last 2 days I've let the chocolate monster get me and now I feel like a right failure this week. I dont know if it's coz AF is due today or I'm just having 2 off days but I need it kicking out of me. I'm going to Boots next week to do my next months weigh in and really want to get another 3lbs off to get the half stone off, but I'm thinking that wont happen.
I need to get back into the planning and making of the lunches so I've got it with me, hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow so we wont have to 'fight it' on the bus. I can't remember what we've got in and dont know what to have for lunch tomorrow! I first thought chicken or prawn salad, the remembered I havent got any cucumber and only beef tomatoes and little gem lettuce - and then I thought salad in January a day after the snow - are you mental woman!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help to rescue my lunch, I've cooked my filling for my quiche and then realises I've only got 3 eggs when it normally needs 6! I've put it in the oven but I don't think there will be enough, could I chuck it in my wok and try and break it up like egg fried rice stuff and then mix some mayo with natural yogurt to make a pasta salad type thing? Urgent help req'd x

Here to subscribe :) (I thought I already had!)

But I will admit I'm the worst person to give advice about eggs... I don't eat them! (Unless it's cake related...) I'd say it's possible to do what you suggest, but I would have no idea how it might turn out... :(

I've said to Ian that I'm going to have today and the weekend to get it out of my system as AF came this morning and then get back on it on Monday.

FRIDAY!!! yippee again already...

Well I think I managed to rescue my quiche last night, 3 eggs seemed to be enough to help it come together and its just the top layer that is a bit loose. I've taken the top bit off and although it doesn't look very appealing, I'm going to have it with some beans at lunchtime.

As we managed to get the car out I've brought an mint Muller - 1st time I've tried these, and a pear for my snacks.
For breakfast I've had x2 slices of brown toast with fine cut marmalade.

It's nearly the weekend peoples!

Happy Friday lovely... thank goodness!!! Glad you managed to rescue your quiche. I've only ever made mini quiches... never a big one as I always imagine it not setting properly and being horrible. What do you have planned for the weekend? xxx

It wasnt too bad actually but I didnt think about making them into mini quiches.
Weekend plans are yet to be confirmed, but I think we might potter about tomorrow maybe come into town and then go home, to tidy/bake/lounge about and then Sunday I might suggest we go for a walk and then head over to the rents-in-law for lunch, then it's back to work on Monday.
