Sandra's maintenance diary.....

Well I've had a good read.....don't think that I'm going to suffer from it cos I'm not eating 50% or less than I need and I do a lot of exercise......am going to make an effort to eat a bit more though as I'm only eating between 1100-1300 a day generally and using about 1700.... So perhaps there is something in the 'science'? I'd never heard of starvation mode before tbh!

Must buy some more kitkats tomorrow:D

Lucky you Sandra because that shows you're not a 'seasoned dieter'! Happy for you that you're not :D xx

I've always kept an eye on what I eat Jan but, no, I haven't lost stones and stones and kept putting them back on. I was fine until I had a hysterectomy in 2005 which was the start of 5 years of Ill-health and operations. Hopefully it's all behind me now.....

Don't think that I'm naturally slim, though, just not fat either if that makes sense:confused:

Sandra, surely you won't put back on weight when you can target the specific period and causes for our weight gain and have so successfully tackled it. I'm sure you will be fine. The calorie defecit this week should help produce a loss for you so all will be good.
Enjoy the kitkats ....... in moderation!!!

Well I'm quietly confident that the weight will stay off but I'm loathe to say that I'll never be struck down by my health again as I've said that every year since 2005 and every single year something has happened, like a serious operation or cancer or heart scare......I guess that really a few extra lbs should be the least of my worried:sigh:

Ps I'm not a hypochondriac........and I hate needles! Had to have a cortisone injection this afternoon and was practically vomiting with terror in the waiting room:eek:

Off to bed, got physio at 8 in the morning

Night xx

Good luck for tomorrow :)

I dont mind needles at all, my OH nearly passed out when I had a blood test during pregnancy.......not too sure how he was so great through labour.....hmm odd one!

Sandra, you and me both re needles. I had to have the same injection today in my shoulder. Consultant wants me to have another one into the spine but I've told him I'll have to think about that cos I can't face the thought of it!! I feel such a failure for being such a fraidy cat!!

What a coincidence! I'm a real scaredy cat, the Dr asked me if I wanted to make another appointment but I said just get on with it cos I won't be back in a hurry!

I had an epidural for my hip replacement rather than a general anaesthetic and it was all I could do not to cry.......there were 4 doctors present and it took about 1/2 an hour to take effect and they must've thought that I was mad cos I kept cracking jokes and singing 'Is this the was to Amarillo?' to try and take my mind off of what was happening!

What did you have it for Molly?

I can empathise with you. I have a lot of issues with my back. The injection yesterday was for nerve pain in the neck. It has been very bad for weeks and nit responding to anything else Consultant did his best to persuade me to go in for a small procedure on the lumbar spine but I'm not volunteering yet!!!! Large yellow streak!!! Say no more!

Good day today so far, slept ok due to local anaesthetic in my shoulder, cortisone jab should be kicking in soon too!

Weighed myself this morning, had to get up twice in the night to pee so thought that 'water' weight from the weekend must be shifting and, sure enough, it's gone:D lets hope that mfp is going to help.....have changed my official wi day to Thursday, ie tomorrow, as it'll be a week since I've been counting calories. On reflection Monday is a silly day to weigh as I'm likely to be up a couple of lbs from the weekends carb and wine fest......so Thursday it is in future.

Today's food.....

B branflakes and milk, vitamin C drink
L 2 soft boiled eggs, 2 slices granary toast, elf spread, 4 kiwi fruit (I picked them in November and they're still ripening!)
Snack Be-YU bar
D Count on us Cajun chicken Fettucine ....can't be arsed to cook just for me but I've already had my boiled eggs for today! count on us chocolate mousse
Later hot choc

That's about 1400 cals so far, about 50 under target. Mfp telling me that I will be 147lbs in 5 weeks......is it that simple? haven't gone way under today but feel a bit full at the moment, I heartily recommend that M&S chicken as it was really tasty.

Did a good session at physio, about 300 calories worth, then had a lovely massage with the lovely Mark:D

Glad the water weight's gone :) .. good idea to change your weigh day. You'll soon feel the benefit from your jab and be glad you braved it. Hope what you're doing now works better for you on the weight front. xx

Kit Kats  Have one for me please!!! lol
Im in two minds about weigh in days. I like mondays and think it should be a monday but then after a weekend, especially if its a 'heavy one' its always a pain. But then fridays i think oh weigh in isnt for another week, lets have a good weekend and get down to it monday .... I cant win!! LOL I'm always changing from fridays to mondays!

Bugger, I went to get an evening paper and I knew that I'd forgotten something......the kitkats:(

HaHa - that'll keep you on the straight and narrow ;) x

Obviously not high on my list of priorities:D

Well that's a good sign :) x

Just reminded me, Sandra I know you love your M&S - well I have a bag of real coffee, which was in my M&S hamper from Xmas, so I was tired and bored in work last night, so at 4am I went shopping to Asda (do you have 24 hour shopping in Jersey?............I bought a lamp, a cafetierre and 2 glass coffee cups with metalic holder - well I had my Marks coffee today and it was delicious, even if a little weak.

Its been a long time since I used real coffee, whats the usual amount to use.....the cafetierre I have is a 6 cup one, but I only filled half of it with water and to that I added 4 teaspoons of coffee.........way too weak.
