Just reminded me, Sandra I know you love your M&S - well I have a bag of real coffee, which was in my M&S hamper from Xmas, so I was tired and bored in work last night, so at 4am I went shopping to Asda (do you have 24 hour shopping in Jersey?............I bought a lamp, a cafetierre and 2 glass coffee cups with metalic holder - well I had my Marks coffee today and it was delicious, even if a little weak.

Its been a long time since I used real coffee, whats the usual amount to use.....the cafetierre I have is a 6 cup one, but I only filled half of it with water and to that I added 4 teaspoons of coffee.........way too weak.

Mary, it will be a dessert spoon per cup. Heat the cafetiere first with some hot water. I usually add an extra spoon if the coffee is a medium strength just to give it a bit more oomph! I love fresh coffee.

Yeah - deffo a dessertspoon per cup - more if you like it strong xx

No sunday trading?!! Sometimes I wish it was like that here. I used to love it as a kid when all we had to do on a sunday was watch rubbish tv and have a roast. Dad would go to the pub for 2hours and be straight back. Now its all about popping to the shop, going into town etc etc Sundays should go back to chill out day for sure!! :p

Had a quiet day today, woke up and it was pouring with rain so decided to catch up with paperwork, tax return and other stuff! Paul texted to say that he'd survived the parascending down the mountain, so that's a relief:D

Today's food (no exercise)

B branflakes and milk, lf actimel yogurt drink
L 2 boiled eggs, 3 slices of granary toast, elf spread
D garlic and parsley king prawns, salad of lettuce, cherry toms and grated carrot. M&S chocolate mousse, a Pink Lady apple
Hot choc

Total 1231 calories

I've updated my stats to try and lose 1 1/albs a week so that's a total of 1200 calories which I think that I can manage......

I'm stuffed! Had a really busy day and a fantastic work out so just had a nice big dinner! Felt really good this morning and have only got another two physio sessions to do next week. It was going so well that after my hour my therapist set me a challenge, 20 minutes on the exercise bike, hill programme at level 7  and I managed it! I was puce though and my t shirt was dripping wet.... Not a good look but it means that I'm getting fit again and it feels fantastic:D

Today's food

B branflakes and milk, lf actimel
L 2 slices granary bread, 1/2 tin baked beans, 2 kiwi fruit
D huge jacket spud about 250-300g, cod in butter sauce, mashed carrot, swede and parsnip with elf spread

That comes to about 1200 calories so far, I'm about 300 calories short but no way can I manage so much as one of the kitkats that I bought at the store!

Paul's back tomorrow and I've got an M&S crispy duck for supper, tarte d'abricots and a bottle of SB already chilling! Going to work out the calories to see if I need a really good workout in the morning to allow for the calories.....

Oh that's fantastic news re the fitness! Well done you - you must be sooooooo chuffed! Loving the sound of 2moro's dinner - be lovely for you to have Paul home again!

We're going out for dinner on Sunday nite for Valentines and I'm working on the principle that the bigger the steak, the less space on plate for carbs pmsl... Sooo looking forward to it - plan to forget about the world and concentrate on just us (and slinging the biggest steak possible doon ma gullet) lol

Yeah I feel great! I used to be really fit and fully intend to get there again......The guy who lives in my flat got my bike sorted this afternoon too, he's a sweetie and I pay him in French choccie biscuits! So if it's fine tomorrow I'm going to go for a ride.

I can't wait to have Paul back, I would hate to live on my own again......

Have a lovely meal out, I'm going to wait until Paul gets back and see if he wants to go out on Monday.....save me cooking. I've got him some lovely little heart-shaped chocs....to share of course:D

Well done on the fitness Sandra - it must feel great to be getting back to 'normal'.

Enjoy Paul tomorrow ;) xx

Oh it's a great feeling Jan!

Well....had a crappy night tossing and turning, took a nytol at 3 but still couldn't settle. Had awful 'retless legs) which I haven't had for ages.....

Anyway, brill news on the weight front, this morning I am 11 stone exactly! Am thrilled.....after weeks of going between 11st 1-4lbs the scales have finally shifted. So I guess that calorie counting along with the increased exercise is finally doing the trick.

Was going to have a long lie-in but think I'll just bung a can of diet Red Bull in my water bottle and head to the gym to work off the duck before I eat it!

Won't be enjoying Paul tonight Jan as he's got a dreadful cold. He's been working like crazy these past few months to complete an acquisition so the minute that he relaxed he's ill! Never mind it'll just be so good to have him home.

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Ooooh well done Sandra :) Lovely feeling seeing the scales budge aint it .. think ive forgotten what thats like! hahaha

Have a fab weekend xx

Oh that's brilliant! And ver' ver' interesting - kcal counting I think is what did difference for me this week too (despite couple of choc biscuit fests). Seems like fruit does worse for me than choc/crisps lol

I think that I'm going to stop recording weekly weigh-ins (which i keep changing anyway!) and just put the dates when my weight actually goes down ......so off I go to actually record a loss!:D

Fab result - well done :D xx

Loathe to say it Jan but I hope that I've cracked it!

I do hope so!!! :D xx

Well done!! When I can get my head together I'm seriously going to look at calorie counting instead!

Net calories today 1265.......65 over if I want to lose 1 1/2 lbs a week.

Can't be bothered to write it all up tonight.....too tired and legs really tired from a hard session in the gym this morning.

Emma, it's quite easy once you get the hang of it and you can create an easy reference of all the foods that you use regularly. Give it a go when you've got half an hour to get the hang of it x

Sound lovely!

No Asda, no 24 HR shopping, not even Sunday trading!

In a certain way it must be lovely to have no shopping on a Sunday, but because of my shifts, I would be a little lost without Sunday trading now.

Mary, it will be a dessert spoon per cup. Heat the cafetiere first with some hot water. I usually add an extra spoon if the coffee is a medium strength just to give it a bit more oomph! I love fresh coffee.

Thanks Molly, I haven't had any more since that first cup, so I will add the extra next time. Dont you just love the smell if fresh coffee!

Yeah - deffo a dessertspoon per cup - more if you like it strong xx

Thanks Jan.

Sandra well done on the loss and getting your fitness levels back, you must feel great.
