Scarlett to target one day at a time

Yeah thats a good point, just checked half term dates and its the week before half term we are looking at so wouldn't be abandoning her while they are all at home either haha! Really want to go, just need to wait and see what's happening with the job too as cant justify it either without the pay rise!

I loved hairdressing but I got a bit fed up with the routine, was a long line of shampoo and sets, and old lady cuts but what I loved was technical colouring and special occasion hair. Weddings were my speciality which I still do occasionally and the only bit I really miss.
The salon I worked at though has got stupidly expensive, the girl who does my hair who I trained with still works there, she is now up to a level where she charged something like £65 for a cut and blow dry and she's not at the top level yet! Extortion! Glad I see her at home and she charges less! Good idea getting the new one to do Nates hair, good practice for the newly qualifiers! If you can cut a wiggly child's hair you can do anything! :)

Did you do work experience or start the training?

I cut my boyfriends hair and hate doing it as I don't really know what I'm doing, but he loves me doing it and hates going to the hairdressers, my Nanna used to cut her own hair.... she said it used to take her hours to do but she did it, I'd love to have the confidence to even try mine, but cutting my own fringe is as far as I'll go lol

Bless her Donna that's so sweet! We should gang up on these barber phobic boyfriends and make a stand! :)
I used to be really fussy about my layers as I had pink slices through my black hair and I liked the layers a certain way so you could see it. I used to get my cousin (who's a hairdresser but more of a basic old lady hairdresser rather than new techniques etc), to cut the length then I'd do my own layers. Need to give mine a go soon, need my highlights doing again! Would love to go back to black and pink but so much upkeep..

oh, it was just work ex. at my school girls got sent to a hairdressers or a primary school. a bit daft as it was a grammar school in a finance town. That's great for your friend. Ours are super cheap for the standard. The woman who owns it was a hairdresser at harrods for 15 years, until she wanted to move to Lyme. She bought the shop, one woman left, amy got tweaked to harrod standard (for £25!!!) and she got a new girl doing training in, and she has now qualified and is building her book up. Nate isn't wriggly if he can sit on my lap, so he is still and I get covered in hair!

Sounds fab, harrods hair at that price is a definite bargain! Good for her though, must have been a strong ambition to uproot and start on her own like that. That's good he sits well with you even if you do get hairy in the process! Once was doing a first haircut for a little boy sitting on daddy's lap (daddy was a bit of a dish and I was only 16!) and as I bent down to do his fringe the little boy pulled the front of my top down to my belt flashing my boobs in yummy daddy's face. Don't think I've ever blushed so much in my life! Somehow though I still ended up in childcare haha!

Very odd of your school to do that! Rather sexist too! Shame on them!

Aww that's lovely she moved with her mum, great she's got the pick of clients too!

Haha the little sod giggled, pretty sure it was more at my red face than the boobs as he was only just two but dad didn't know where to look. To be fair he didn't have much choice of where to look my breasts filled his entire field of vision! Aah well...

I really need to try and sleep now. getting into a bad habit of being on my phone all evening then back on it in bed. Need to get to sleep earlier! Had a rumbly tummy so just got up for a banana, hopefully that stops it as can't be bothered to make anything now!

Subscribing :)

Morning all x
Haven't yet decided if today is red or green..
Hexa1 on milk through day
Breakfast - apple and handful if grapes. 2 ryvita 1/2hexb1 with 1/2hexa2 Philly light topped with cucumber.
Lunch - depending what I fancy this is what will decide red or green. Either savoury rice with lots of veg or scrambled egg with ham and tomatoes on hexb2 toast.
Dinner - red- chicken stir fry with carrots and courgette "noodles" or green- vegetable stir fry with normal noodles.

Have got a flump for 1.5 in my bag, fromage frais that I can season and use as a dip for carrots and pepper.

I might do half strips half noodles and see how they turn out for next time. Will take pics too. Thanks for the idea :)

Well it's def a red day, had 1/2 hexb1 toast with scrambled egg, ham and tinned tomatoes.

Think this afternoon will be a big game of "let's see who can go the longest without talking". Headache and have random chattering in surround sound....

Been to the pound shop and pet shop to bargain hunt and look at hamsters and tortoises (random but free lol) and found some weight watchers wavy squares that are 70cals each bag so 3.5 syns :) they are a great crisp alternative and got me thinking as I checked ingredients for potato as I'm on a red day. I always thought crisps, chocolate etc would be same value on red and green but as crisps are made of potato does this make the red values higher? Prob a dumb question but it's really never occurred to me! Just as well I don't eat many crisps nor do I do many red days but still..

Thanks both of you! You know when you get that moment when you doubt yourself then over think it? Weird!

Stir fry is good! Did half "noodles" with the zester and half strips with a peeler. Both worked well and I stir fried them before doing the rest of the stir fry. I did put a teeny bit of honey in the sauce but it was half a teaspoon between two of us so I'll count half but think it's negligible really.
