Scrumbles' diary...life after losing a third of me...

He did one day at 600 cals last week, spent the other 6 pigging out as usual and lost 3lbs - men, eh? Just drops off 'em

That must drive you nuts! Katie reported the same with her OH too - just not fair! :)

Excellent work on the continuing weight loss hun, you are doing brilliantly!

You ARE my inspiration ... I think I'm pining after your brain and your body ... And no I'm not drinking a gin and soda right now!! Lol

Too right it flipping does!:p I mean, I love him and all, but it's indecent to lose weight that easily. It also means he's hunting me down - I'm only 8 pounds lighter than he is so he'll probably zoom past me in the next 5 minutes...:rolleyes:

Stat update:

Day 1 - 1426 cals, 28g carbs, weight 179lbsDay 2 - 1365 cals, 26g carbs, weight 179.8lbs
Day 3 - 1258 cals, 27g carbs, weight 179.2lbs
Day 4 - 1368 cals, 27g carbs, weight 178lbs
Day 5 - 1387 cals, 25g carbs, weight 177lbs
Day 6 - weight 177.4lbs

Up .4 from yesterday, but I have park issues the past couple of days, so that probably accounts for it. I might get an even better loss soon, lol.

Temperature has cooled today but I still feel it's really muggy...like we could do with a good thunderstorm to clear the air, or something.

OH took the progress pic for me.... I can see a bit of a difference, but, um, yeah. Not pretty. Hoping my 11st 9 picture will be one that I can actually look at without an involuntary gasp of horror...

You really are doing SO well Scrummie! I'm so chuffed for you! Xx

I do think the cal/carb combo works really well

Thanks, Di! And I'm so glad you're back in the Atkins zone again...I was getting lonely, lol!

It really was time for me to move to higher carbs, I think. It's just so tempting to think that "less is more" and stay at Induction levels, but OWL exists for a reason, as I'm discovering. And having 10g more carbs to play with every day opens up a lot of possibilities for keeping things fresh whilst still keeping all the truly carby nasties out of bounds - I'm loving it right now! :D

Day 6 - 1382 cals, 31g carbs, weight 177.4lbs
Day 7 - weight 177lbs

Back to posted weight, though still no joy in the park department. If nothing happens today I'll take a laxative of some sort - really don't want this to drag on. Weird, because I haven't had any problems in this area for a long, long time now. None of my messing about has had any effect over the last several months so I don't know what's brought this on. Ho hum. (Oh wait, just remembered I took iron for a couple of days recently in case I'm getting low again, so that could be it. D'oh!)

I tried some of my old rings on last night to see if they fit me now and was delighted that a few of them do! Still a little on the snug side, but at least I can get them on without thinking I'll need soap to get them off again, lol. NSVs rock! :D

Yes could well be the iron stuffing you up. You know the roster of Atkins friendly produce to help you go if you need to though. Tea and rhubarb are still my lifesavers with that. After the sheer agony experienced on VLCDs I'm not sure I could ever do a diet that constipated me again. Oh, almond bread usually gives me a woosh, too.

I'm so impressed with how steady and stable your daily weighs are. When I've tried it I just fluctuate all round the houses.

^^^ Actually, several :D...but, bizarrely, I have gained weight since then

I'd love to know how that works, lol! These random fluctuations are quite amusing...

Day 9 - weight 176lbs

Down to a new low this morning :D. No doubt it'll bounce up a bit, but it's nice to see it even for a moment. I'm inching my way to my original target - just over half a stone to go now, though it'll probably take me at least 6 weeks to shift it. Not that I have a particular deadline, but ya know how it is - the closer you get to target, the more impatient you become!

I'll stop the daily weight tracking in a few days. I think I get the picture by now: down a little, up a little, down some more, back up a tad, lather, rinse, repeat. Not exactly exciting reading, lol. I seem to have found a sweet(ish) spot for losing right now, and that's all I really needed to know. My next move will probably be to raise carbs by another 5g so that I'm aiming between 30-35g. Perhaps I'm finally doing OWL more or less as I'm supposed to...now there's a thing!

Almond bread for brekkie today, chicken curry with broccoli for main meal and some kind of salad snack in between. Oh, and a yummy bowl of raspberries and cream...happy days! :D

That's a v nice downward slope you have going on there scrummie! 3lbs in 9 days is majorly impressive. II hope to be following you down again soon.

What do you have with your almond bread?

Aye, it's good to see! I don't think I'm losing as fast as I did after my previous diet break, but I was a fair bit heavier then and I'd been eating quite a bit more during the break itself, so that might have made a difference. If I lose a total of 3-4lbs in the two weeks after this break that will do me just fine.

As you've had about a month (?) off you should be primed and ready for a big old whoosh - you'll be in the 11's before you know it! :D

When I have your original recipe almond bread I put Sainsbury's equivalent of Philly on it. Today I've gone for my experimental chocolate cake version, and all that needs with it is a nice mug of fresh-brewed coffee! :D

Have you had a play with the recipe at all? I'm thinking there's lots of sweet/savoury variations that would work - if I could see past chocolate, lol!

Day 10 - weight 175.8lbs

A smidge down on yesterday - always nice to tip over into the next number down! Wonder if I'll make it to 175lbs by the end of the two weeks? That is twelve and a half stone, so it would be another mini-milestone ticked off.

I have a little problem with tomorrow as we'll be over at my mum's (postponed from last week) so I will be surrounded by carby treats galore . I think I've been back on Atkins long enough to not be tempted, but I won't know until I'm there. Yikes!

Amazing to watch the pounds drop off - you are doing brilliantly!

Take some of that yummy sounding almond bread tomorrow and you'll be fine :)

Yep - the almond fairy cakes that showed up in my diary a few times are an adaptation of the recipe, with cream, water, sweetener, flavoring added if I remember rightly. I think I might do banana ones on Sunday. I think some herbs or cheese would also be nice savory additions.

And argh, no, after a month off I am set way way back as I expected to be. I'll just plug along but I've never really had wooshes after breaks - just enough to hopefully get a decent bit of the water weight off. Ah well we'll see how it goes. I really am so frustrated it had to be 4 bloody weeks. Obvs it didn't 'have' to be it was my choice to reschedule things and take the same time I'd originally planned... It's just a bit depressing to be playing catch up with myself. But, my choice so on we go.

Ah, of course! I saw the fairycakes but I'd forgotten them. I'll go find them tomorrow (and probably make and eat them as well!)

Just checking in quickly before bed.

I pretty much survived the House Of Treats except for one G&T, which I didn't intend to have, but when free booze is being wafted under your nose, what's a girl to do? :D I think I kept my cals and carbs within my usual range though, so I didn't do too badly.

Morning Scrummie.... Brilliant loss! So impressed with what you're doing!! Where are you getting the carbs from? What have you added? Hope you have a lovely day xx
