Secret to shaping up

Ladies, I feel like a peeping Tom! I have been following this thread for about four weeks and feel like I know you all. Now I feel its time I introduced myself! I have started the 30 day shred but am really looking forward to starting kettlebells! I'm looking for a little bit of help on equipment. I was thinking about ordering the 10lb bell and one of the packages

What do you think I should go for? Are the bells from here good?

Thanks in advance!

Kron, the "deck" move is where you lie down holding the kettlebell with a bell grip, explode legs in the air and then spring straight back up to standing! It sounds harder than it is. By holding the bell out in front, it helps lift you up.

I am in agreement with Numnum - this sounds horrific lol

I'm going to have a look at Kron's link now!!

Hi aily welcome
I liked my 10lb (4.5kg) bell I got with the kettleworx set, you may be able to buy a bell cheaper elsewhere, you can get 5kgs at good prices sometimes. I would recommend a metal to a plastic bell, and I am sure the other swingers will offer their advice :)

Trying to add pics... can anyone help???

Hi Ailly

Sorry I completely ignored your post - didn't see it! Must have been the shock from seeing that deck move lol

I have a metal bell(5kg) from Argos that I love and it was only a fiver on sale( prices prob back to normal now though) but you could have a look on their website. I never thought I was strong enough to start with a 5kg weight but i'm so glad I did as your strength will improve quickly and if you want quick results you need to challenge those muscles :) So i'd recommend a 5! After 4 weeks I'm using 7.5 so you get my point! I got the Kettleworx set from Amazon - not sure how prices compare but always another place to check. Glad you've decided to join :D

Hi Sweet

If you go to post reply the white box will appear as normal and in the panel above the whitebox there is a little picture( it looks like a black paperclip) if you hover your mouse over it its called attachements! Click on this and you need to choose the option where it says attach file from your computer. When you have selected your file you will see the bar uploading( think it turns green) Then just hit send reply and Voila!

Thanks Kron. Hope this works :D

Aily,

I have no upper body strength, despite having birthed a baby warthog and having to cart him about daily. I bought the set and got the 5lb bell with it. I'm quite glad I started off with this weight as it eased me in gently (PAH! No gentle about it, but you'll see what I mean :) ) Anyhoo I did week one with the 5lb bell as a warm up then bought a 5kg one from Tesco (£10). I then did week 1 again with the 5kg, for the punches I had to go back down to the 5LB weight as it was just too hard. I think it differs from person to person as to what weight is a good starter. Week 2 cardio I had to swap to the 5LB one again to do a figure of 8 between the legs ( again you'll see :) ) as the 5KG was just too heavy for my punyness.

See if you can find somewhere that stocks them and go have a play, see what you think will be manageable. You dont want to go too heavy and be put off, but in the same respect you dont want to go too light and not challenge yourself.

Good luck and apologies if I've been as helpful as a chocolate tea pot!

Sweet you have so shrunk, omg kept flicking back and forth :)
Well done, you should be extremely proud of your acheivement
Loving that dress - is that the dress. Your body shape is gorgeous, goes in at the waist, which looking at before pic it didnt used to do
Thanks for showing us what can be achieved, its over 6 stone gone isnt it ?

OMG Sweet...what an amazing transformation!! You look fab and loving the Wedding outfit :) Give yourself a MASSIVE PAT ON THE BACK :D;)

Thanks :D I am soo proud of myself & what I have lost so far.

Kron, Yes its 6 stone I have shifted so far & would love to shift another 2 though I am happier with my body shape now as it feels a lot more proportion with curves in the right places since starting kb's so as long as I keep toning I am happy even if the last bit takes a bit longer. Thats 'the' dress!! The one that was tight not that many weeks ago & now it gaps around the back!!! :D hence having to keep the bolero on all day

You will get the 2 you want :) You will have to get that dress altered next time you want to wear it. You look absolutley fantastic!
