Sharon's Before 50 Plan

Just been making scotch eggs (1.5 syns each) from the SW lunch book for the beach picnic tomorrow yum yum savoury rice all cooked to add some salad bits with tomorrow :) Planning birds eye baked to perfection salmon in lemon and herb sauce (free on EE) new potatoes and salad when we get back from the beach followed by strawberries for quick after the beach dinner.

Had a twister lolly in the beach today for 4.5 syns - have mini ones in freezer at home which are 2.5 - not had them before and they are seriously tasty.

Great that your Dad did his degree Tracy. I just think of cost now and what would I do with it. I could do French but equally I could brush that up with making the effort to read and develop french vocab with French literature, maybe :) maybe one day. Life has a habit of putting you where you need to be as and when hey.

Geordie thanks re Chris' degree, it's so great that he's done so well :)

Had a lovely day in the beach today and really enjoyed the Malaysian chicken and red pepper curry for dinner - now for a cheeky little drink I think, all counted in. How cool is this diet!

Oh yeah, it is different again now than when Dad did his degree 20-odd years ago, much more expensive. I always wanted to do a further degree, but even back in the 80s couldn't get funding for one, so there'd be no chance now!

Off for a family get together at my Dad's this morning - they'll no doubt make me sit outside, lol. I hate being out in the sun and try to avoid it wherever possible, but I don't think I'll get away with it today, birthday girl or not! :D xx

Thank you! You were quite right though, it is tomorrow, just having my celebration today. Had too much cake, and my sister got me a huge box of Black Magic - don't know what she's trying to do to me, lol. They're sitting next to me, unopened as yet, for if I fancy a nibble during the tennis! We did indeed sit outside - they set up a parasol just for me, but everyone was trying to crowd into the shade after an hour or so - what a scorcher! They reckon it's 40 degrees on Centre Court, rather them than me!! :) xx

Sounds a lovely day Tracy :). Has been hot today. Been down to the beach again today, swam in the sea yestday and been in twice today, not been in the sea in Cornwall for 4-5 years as we've just not had the summers we used to have and when it was nice was working or being a carer etc. This weekend has been lovely and really hope we get plenty more weekends like this before summer is out :). Spent many a happy summer with my children growing up on this beach :). Totally chilled lol topped up some vitamin D :)

Geordie the baked to perfection salmon was really nice, will definitely have it again and really quick an easy. Served it with new potatoes and a lovely mixed salad - strawberries next and maybe a tia maria and coke. Had another twister lolly at the beach - they are heaven on a stick lol. Oh and the scotch eggs nom nom - recommended, everyone loved them. Our diet is so much more varied, tasty and more fun since being on SW. Oh and on my home scales I am now officially below wedding weight with Dave - weight I post on here is SW scales which is end of the day fully clothed- don't think they'd take too kindly to us all stripping at class lol but all relevant when deciding class target etc :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely summer weekend :)

Hi aqua how ru today? Just showed the BF your scotch eggs he's very impressed too. I've not got a food processor but I reckon he's having a think about us having one so we'll see. Hope your still enjoying the sun & getting your lunch break at work xx

Hi Cookie food processor is definitely a good investment - mine was about £40 I think in Asda and use it loads. Salmon steaks are definitely a great quick meal Geordie - will definitely but some more of the birds eye baked to perfection. Having bloods done this am, review with GP next tues re thyroid but hoping these will show that all ok now with last thyroxine dose tweak :)

Coast is lovely, spent many a happy day down at the beach with the kids growing up . Hoping to get down there again at the weekend.

Hi Aqua, hope all went well at the doctors I'm sure it'll be good news next Tuesday. I'm envious about you Geordie being near the coast but I do have a canal less than 5mins walk so which was great for a bike ride and I've got my imagination too to make up for it. I'll have a look and think about the food processor I've been lazy in this heat and cooking is a bit of a chore but I know I've got to do it.

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow xxx

Hello Aqua, 0.5lb on isn't bad when its your star week. You'll have that off next week and I love the picture quote, it's not always easy to think about so its a lovely reminder. Xxx

Thanks Cookie. Moira it's been hot in the office with the heat the computers and printers generate so I can imagine the salon must be hot hot hot :) looking forward to a weekend on the beach. Woke up just before six thinking what time is it, mini panic re being late for work, then realised it's Saturday, YAY. Making Indonesian yellow curry from the SW asian cookbook when I get in from the beach later

Another glorious day on the beach, went to a different local beach today. Swam in the sea twice again, enjoyed scotch eggs and separate rice salad, velvet crisps and an ice lolly :). Cooked sesame chicken from Asia SW cookbook, new potatoes and salad for dinner. Shame work beckons tomorrow as could get used to this, however - weather looks good on Weds so finish early that day, picnic dinner and off to the beach mid week, fingers crossed the weather holds :) just debating using another 2.5 syns for a southern comfort and diet lemonade.....

Sounds like you've had an idyllic weekend! :) xx

Made the seafood paella tonight - first time I ever made paella. Didn't add safffron as it was so expensive but still tasted really nice - might add some another time if I can find some cheap enough but Schwartz one in Asda was £5 for hardly any in the jar! Whole family enjoyed it, served with side salad. Gammon for tomorrow evening with fresh pineapple, peas, egg and potato wedges, will also prep devilled chicken, cold cooked new potatoes and salad - picnic dinner on the beach on Weds as I finish at 1.30 on Weds - will be off to the beach with our picnic salad tea and more swimming in the sea :)

Your food always sounds devine! Still haven't had gammon, good idea for tomorrow. £5 for saffron is a bit steep. Roll on Wednesday afternoon for you, busy week for me, meetings all day Wednesday.
