Sharon's Before 50 Plan

Yup can relate to that re pre Xmas eats in the past. Hubby keeps saying to me 'do we have anything nice' and I'm not letting him have on any of the Xmas stuff early or I'd be buying more too. As I'm being good it's keeping hubby on track too, he's lost 2 stone alongside me this year :) So whatever happens re weight with Xmas period it's going to be better than if I throw caution to the wind now and for a whole 10 days. I don't want to be spending the whole of January to deal with Xmas gain if I can help it - my holiday gain has taken an age to shift but equally I do want to enjoy Xmas. Love the snowman cartoon.

Welcome Bev :)

Watched something on TV today about eating over christmas and they advise to eat whatever you want christmas Day then carry on dieting boxing day, sounds ok to me ( I think!!)

I think you're right re Xmas day Anne - sometimes you need to enjoy too and then just get back to it. I am looking forward to Xmas day with the family. My daughter arrives home from France on 22 December :). The SW class meal out was really nice. I had carrot and coriander soup, turkey dinner with loads of lovely veg and yummy chocolate torte for pudding. I've been fancying something really nice and have to say that chocolate torte definitely ticked all the boxes was lush. Stuck to diet coke to drink.

Wore black lace dress, gold shoes and gold handbag with diamanté band on it and my pearls that I bought in majorca :).

Was a really good SW class night out and we all had a really good night - all six of my consultant's classes and a dj.

Morning! Your SW meal out sounds really nice, we've not had a Xmas meal which is a shame really. I'm going to put the Xmas tree up today. I can't believe its nearly Xmas and its till not up I've never left it this late before so I'll do it this afternoon. Very excited xx

Shame you've not had a class night out. We had a huge Xmas raffle from monies raised with ticket sales, lovely gifts for one of the class member's two disabled children with the 5p donation tin which members but their 5p change in each week (bedding sets for both and duvets etc as they're just about to go into bigger beds) and monies from raffle sales last night will go towards a food bank donation and a cheque for Children's Hospice South West. Next week all classes are collecting food bank donations ready for a big drop off to the food bank from us all pre Xmas - fab consultant.

Enjoy putting up the tree :). We now have illuminated Xmas parcels and snowman added beneath our tree and hubby is thinking of adding Xmas train set he had in the loft around the tree! :)

Oh No! Now I want a Christmas Train Set around my tree!! :D

Your group sounds really good, If I could be sure that our local one would be that nice I might pluck up the courage to join, I love the idea of you all saving your 5p's for local charities.

Maybe when my online subscription runs out I might just have to join the group, hopefully I will be a little more confident by then! :)

Piccie of train attached Chrissie :) Classes can be great fun and everyone is in the same boat - felt very welcome right away.

Had Tescos pulled pork for tea which is free on EE , frylight roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli - really tasty. Had mugshot and persimmon/grapes and Milbona choc/ orange yoghurt 0.5 syns for lunch and breakfast was bacon/egg/tomatoes/1 tbsp tomato sauce - 1 syn. Oh and two Hi Fi light Rocky road :)

Will try the pulled pork recipe on SW site at some point as I know Tasha has made it and it serves 4 whereas this is for 2 but great for quick dinner for just hubby and me. Have potato and leek soup simmering too - the 0.5 syn/portion one on the SW site but may try the other next time which is syn free - this one had more leeks and milk whereas the other had more potatoes and less leeks and uses very low fat fromage frais. Will have soup for lunch tomorrow as out for a roast/Xmas meal with hubby's work colleagues so need to be syn free before we go as syns involved in the set menu.

Hi! The tree looks beautiful. :) I love the light presents too. Ours is a bit bare underneath as we stopped buying Christmas presents for each other a few years ago. We either book a holiday or buy something for the house instead .. a luxury rather than a boring thing mind you :)

I am doing some stocking presents this year though as my Sister is staying with us and we both used to love opening those as soon as we woke up. We are both over 50 now! :-D

Think I may just have to get myself one of those train sets!

The pork looks good too :D

Chrissie that's a lovely idea re the stockings. I still have some stocking fillers to pick up this week and some more food bits to sort. Just need to wrap then and let it happen.

Had summer fruits/v low fat fromage frais and drizzle of honey for breakfast, potato and leek soup and persimmon planned for lunch and then out for tea - main is roast beef; starter and pud are going to add to the syns but will resist syns on drink and then just carry on tomorrow as normal. Definitely way more in control in regard to pre Xmas nibbles than I have been for a long time at this time of year, so whatever the scales show at WI on Thurs I am proud of that :)

Hubby bought train on EBay years ago before I met him (our 6 year wedding anniversary next Sunday, together 8.5 years) - you might find one on EBay, someone's bound to do one.

Pork I went with microwave 14 mins from frozen option, sauce sachet for 1 min, add sauce to pork and then in oven for 10 mins to finish - it's 1.5 hours else - really nice though :) SW site recipe looks good too but Tescos one is great for quick yummy tea for two.

The train is fab Sharon I really like it ! Pulled pork looks really nice I might get It, I have seen the recipe on the SW website and thought about doing it. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend, when does Becky get home for Christmas, bet you cannot wait x
Hi Geordie. Thanks re the train :) We pick Becky up from Exeter airport early next Sunday evening, will prob take her to a pub for something to eat then (it's our wedding anniversary too) and endeavour to find something that's not too naughty. Really looking forward to having her home for Xmas :) and she is so glad her term in France is nearly over for her. She has to go to Toledo in Spain mid January until mid June, then her year abroad will be done. Nice chilled weekend and we are currently feeling rather full from our Xmas meal with Dave's work but was yum. Refrained from alcohol though :)

Aw I love that your anniversary is at such a magical time of year! Twice as special! Funnily enough I was intending to do the pulled pork again tonight but it didn't defrost enough over night so think I will pop it in the slow cooker tonight and let it cook overnight! I'll want it for breakfast though once I smell it!! x

Hmmmmm I don't really like pulled pork but there seems to be loads of people who do. Don't know what it is about it, just not my cup of tea.
