Sharon's Before 50 Plan

Hmmmmm I don't really like pulled pork but there seems to be loads of people who do. Don't know what it is about it, just not my cup of tea.

Great thing with the plans is that there's something for everyone hey :) What are your favourite recipes Bev?

I'm making sweet and sour pork using the recipe from the SW Asian cookbook tonight.

Aw I love that your anniversary is at such a magical time of year! Twice as special! Funnily enough I was intending to do the pulled pork again tonight but it didn't defrost enough over night so think I will pop it in the slow cooker tonight and let it cook overnight! I'll want it for breakfast though once I smell it!! x
Did think looking at the SW recipe on line that it would cook nicely in the slow cooker Tasha. It was a lovely wedding. Mad to organise as my parents were unwell and Dad in care home then and too unwell to come. I have some beautiful pics with my mum as my sister did a makeover with hair and makeup for the day she looked lovely. Quite surprised her grandchildren :) I remember her saying it was the poshest do she'd ever been to, We lost them both early in 2011. Was a magical day with claret and sunbeam roses, berries and cala lilies for bouquets and venue flowers, surprise snow machine, candles, xmas tree, pianist and family and friends. Xmas cracker wedding favours with heart shaped sparklers which looked magical when everyone lit them during the reception meal. Beautiful wedding ceremony and our daughters/bridesmaids read poems, my son walked me down the aisle and gave me away. A ceremony with laughter, magic and love. Amazing day and a great evening party too :) wedding cake was like presents all wrapped and sparkly icing and iced sprays of flowers and crystals just like our wedding flowers all displayed on a table with voile and sparkly fairy lights all around. It was a very Xmasy twinkly affair.

Oh that sounds like a magical wedding Sharon, I love it! :) xx
It was lovely Tracy. Claret bridesmaid dresses , fur trimmed wedding capes. Wedding dress was ivory with silver embroidery, lovely beading and beautiful long embroidered train with inlay of embroidered voile and a voile section embroidered in the front if the skirt of the dress too. I truly didn't want to take it off the end of the day. Dave had lovely long black suit, black red waistcoat with gold swirls and gold cravat, son and best man same dark suit but ivory waistcoat and red cravat. They looked fab. Quite a few of the guests and wedding party ended up wearing green wellies from the manor porch later and had some pretty quirky pics - we'd been on the vino lol A lot of people made some great memories that day. I'd lost weight for my wedding but then as my parents illness progressed i piled it back on gradually as you do. What's really nice about my weight loss journey this year is that I am currently the lightest Dave has known me and a stone under my wedding weight :) I've attached some pics :) precious, v special memories.

Wow Sharon, how beautiful! It's looks like a wintry faiytale, gorgeous. :)

I think I'm also about a stone lighter than when I got married. I know I was 13 stone when I got pregnant, which was 3 months after the wedding (we weren't going to waste any time at my advanced age, lol). I was so excited when I got down to 13 stone this year, because I knew I'd been ok at that weight before, so it's quite nice to be over a stone less than that now. :) xx

Oh wow, what fabulous pics and you must have had such a great day sharon x love this Christmas theme. Becky is doing some great studies what an opportunity living abroad for a year, yes she must get home sick but the experience is amazing. Food as ever sounding wonderful :)
Thanks Geordie, it was a fantastic day. Yes she's having an amazing experience though extremely tough too and is off visiting Chalons-Sur-Champagne today, capital of Champagne region. Her last 3 tests are Weds-Fri then flight home on Sun :) the sweet and sour pork was definitely yum yum

That's fantastic with your weight loss Tracy. It's so nice when you can break through those milestone weights hey. I know I want to achieve so much next year but am so pleased with the weight that had already gone this year but by this time next year. .... :).

Thanks Sharon! Yes, it would be nice to be at target by next Christmas, but I don't want to get complacent, lol. I'm actually at the point where I'm more nervous than pleased at the thought of getting to target, as I don't know what'll happen next, if that makes sense! :) xx

I'm sure you'll find a way of maintaining. Sure there will be celebrations, holidays, Xmas and other events when we will all get a gain but that's just living your life, the trick is getting into the mindset of diet, nip it in the bud and then back to what works for us generally the rest of the time. I'm sure you'll find your way Tracy xxxx understandable that you feel like you do, think it's all quite normal :) but hey what a year 2014 can be hey x

Hi Sharon, Just catching up on your diary.....

Your wedding sounds wonderful and the photos are beautiful, it does sound like a fairytale wedding :) Happy Anniversary for next week!!

I lost my Mum in 2011 too and I can appreciate how you felt, it's really taken until now to give myself a kick up the backside and sort myself out.

Thanks Chrissie xx it's not easy losing loved ones. I think no matter how long someone has gone there will always be moments in life when things will catch us and we'll have a tear. But as Mum said when she knew she was going to pass away, life must go on, and we owe it to them to make it count :). Let's see what we can both achieve from now until the end of 2014 hey :)

It was a year ago last week since my Mum died, so I know how both of you feel. Hugs. :) xx

Thanks, Sharon. You're right, the first anniversary is hard - it was such an emotional day when my Mum died, because she was at home and we were all around her, the whole close family, watching her slip away, so it's hard not to think about it on that anniversary. Kathryn actually ended up having to leave school on Monday morning because she was very upset - she went round to my Dad's, as he lives literally next door to her school, and they had a cry together.

I've got my first real naughtiness of the Christmas season tomorrow - a three course lunch with work - and I don't intend to hold back, lol. :) xx
