Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

See I'd say WW aswell as it also helps change our eating habits so am more likely to stick with it! Maybe a pros and cons list of all diets you are thinking of and go from there :0)

Not heard of the spike diet! What is it?

It's basically callorie counting, with one day a week where you get a huge amount of callories. Similar to using all your weeklies on one day, really. I had success with that for a while, but probably won't go back to it for no other reason other than the problem of counting callories for fruit...which was often leaving me hungry at the end of the day, and by the end I was cheating on the diet habitually.
Really I'm trying to find a ballance between a diet where I can loose weight, but I can also stick too. Maybe that's WW.

To add to my thinking, I'm giving careful consideration into going back to a meat free lifestyle. I was a pescatarian for a long while, and my stomach has been a bit unusual ever since I went back to eating meat (not wanting to give tmi, but I can't find a happy medium with my "movements" any more ). Last week that meant I was needing to be within darting distance of a loo, and I really don't know if trying JUDDD (were you alternate between ordinary days and days of basically fasting) was upsetting my already bizarre tum. A lot to think about really.

Hmm yup our tummies do tend to react to less food/more food. Thanks for explaining about the spike diet,no meat wouldn't be a problem on WW and as nothing is banned as such on WW I guess the need to cheat wouldn't affect you too often.Have a good think and we are always here :0)

Hi there here to subscribe xx

Well my bank holiday was far worse than I was expecting...I've gone and gained 8-pounds this week. :( Although my tum is still very weird, and I'm a bit constipated now this week...so that's probably made a little bit of a difference.
I've decided that until my tum is behaving normally and I'm settled into a pescatarian diet, then I'll be doing ww. Not sure how long that will take, but once I've got there I'll have a re-evaluate of what I'm doing dietwise. I don't like the idea of any diet defeating me, and feel that I'm letting a few people down giving up with JUDDD...not least of all myself. For now, though, getting my tum sorted has got to be my priority...as I can't have another week like last week, where I was in agony trying to get through my days with how my movements were.

But anyway, I'm back up to 59 pp a day now after my gain. No idea if I'll end up being social on Sunday (after the past few days, I'm not sure if I feel like going boozing and using my weeklies...drunk & ate enough for the four days this weekend to be honest!).

Does sound like you need a good clear out so to speak. As to letting people down including yourself, you have to do what is right for you, feeling bad about it won't make you feel any better, start afresh, keep going and that 8 pound will be off in no time! I hope you have a good day :0)

Thanks. :) I'm feeling a bit better this afternoon, although am a bit of a loss of what to do with all my points to be honest...not feeling like eating much (still a bit full after yesterday), and eating fish is proving to not be using many points. Looking forward to having tuna for dinner though. I haven't had a tuna steak for about 8-years, so it's going to be a lovely treat...and the broad beans are always nice. Using my meagre garden crop (the garden has been rotten for veg this summer with the rain we've had), which I know I'll enjoy. :)

Yum to the tuna steak! Lovely treat to have for sure :0) not much of a summer has been had though I guess that's nothing unusual for Britain!
Nuts, seeds for points, big breakfast and lunch! Hmm depends what you like.maybe add points gradually if you are still feeling quite full :0)

I agree with Daisy - the 8lbs will soon shift, and you've got to do what's right for you. Good luck, whichever diet plan you choose.

You may be feeling 'full' because of your stomach being upset as well as the volume of food. I suffer from IBS and sometimes feel full when my stomach is tender from a bout of that. I wouldn't worry too much if you can't get all the points in. Perhaps try some full fat milk or dairy, or nuts/seeds as Daisy says. Listen to your body 'til it recovers, don't force food down for the sake of the points.

Thanks. :) Usually I have no problem eating my points, so really I think it's my stomach...I'm a bit bloated, and just don't feel I want the food today. Usually I'd have a drink or two to use up a couple of points, but I'm driving tomorrow so don't want to take the chance. My driving is bad enough when I haven't been drinking! lol. Shall have a look what I've got for later on. Think I've got half a bag of reggae reggae nuts left...they're bound to use up a few points.
Looks like I've got another hectic week next week with work. Shall be glad when it's the week after...got a week's leave then!

Oh right yea harder if you don't like driving,I've only been driving for 5 years myself,it gets me from A to B as they say! Ohh so if you're at home that means plenty of time for batch cooking?! ;p

Only passed about 2-years ago...the week before all the snow came that horrible winter. I remember it scared the whatsit out of me, as I got caught at work when it came down and I really didn't know what to do. Usual trip home is about 20-minutes...took me 4 and a half hours that Friday, most of it downhill. Wouldn't drive for weeks after that!

That's the plan. :) Just going to empty my freezer, and then have a lovely big cook that week.

Ergh I've driven in the snow but I don't like it and refuse to if it's really bad! Not surprised you didn't drive for weeks after that! Least you did get back in the drivers seat so that's something :0) look forward to hearing what you batch cook then! ;0)
