Sona on Dukan Diet- Restart

Hey people!!!!

Im back!!! how are you all doing!! ive missed you!! check out all the action on this forum its reallly rocking now!!

Had a FANTASTIC 2 weeks in newcastle!! Stuck to D all the way through apart from the weekends!! Took 1st wkend off for wedding and gained 2 lb which was GONE 3 days later!! 2nd Wkend off for my 30th and gained 4lbs!! oops!! 2 lbs gone 2 days later so im currently 2 lbs up!!

Last WI was on july 29th at ..........11.7!!!! yes i hit it!!! hehe
current WI is 11.8 or 11.9 max! So back on Dukan today!
And tomorow the fasting starts!!!! eekk

anyone else fasting for next 30 days?

wow wow!!! Get you!! Great to have you back! Yes we have a good crowd now over here (but Cheryl's suffering with morning sickness so staying away from now because of all the "food talk" but she'll read her own post if you wanna put a word there for her).

Vicky's had puppies... so she's at home playing Mum to Mum and babes and loving it I'm sure but not sleeping much I gather!

Fasting? Feasting? It's not gonna be easy! How will you manage? Do you normally dine with many others? What's the timing like this year? Long days alas!

wow!!! @ vicks babiesi read about them on FB! hope she's enjoyng it!! will drop her a msg later!

cher poor baby!! i actually ENVY her morning sickness!! fingers crossed im trying to join her club!!

How are u doing JO? whats new?? i bet ur loving the newlings!!!

fasting!! VERY LONG DAYS!!! it was pretty long last year too... used to eat at about 4am.. then again at about 8pm... pretty much the same thing!! Ive been doing this for years every year so i get use to it after the first few days!!

Made myself a lil 4 day menu...
porridge and yogart or dukan bread sandwish or fried egg for early brekki.. and my normal dukan dinner with a little snack later in the evening!! Its doable!! last year i did atkins while i was fasting!! Although i did cheat here n there!! Im aiming for 5lb loss during ramadan... so i was to be about 11stone mark for 22nd sepw hen i go to spain!! Planningt o buy myself a maxi dress if i hit it!!

Met alot of family while i was away and they alll complimented the weight loss!! its SUCH a boost when ppl can see ur hard work paying off and tell u so!! Im excited about being back on D but unfortunatly no gym for 30 days!

I'm sure Vick's still tired, but she sounds very proud!!
Poor Cheryl...
I know why you'd envy her, and hopefully you'll get your wish too... they say that losing weight can help... and you're fading away there!

It sounds as if you're really organised! I lived for several years with a guy who did ramadan and used to get up in the night to eat! With his late last meal, and early first meal, I'd lose so much sleep I ended up sending him off to his family each year for Ramadan! haaa!

You're absolutely right re the boost... and it's true what they say: "nothing tastes better than being slim feels..." (need to remind myself of that!!)

Hi, I'm new(ish) here, been here for about 2 weeks (and on diet for just under 3)

Good luck for the next month - I can't imagine managing to stick to it:eek:, but then I suppose it's a way of life and (as with everything) when your head's in the right place, it's not too hard.

Nice to be getting comments about your weight loss (am looking forward to those rather than my husband complaining that I'm 'all skinny' - which I'm not, nor will I ever be).

Hey "all skinny" would be nice too!! I'd go for that!

Not if it's said with a sulky voice! He usually starts lamenting when I announce that I'm going to lose weight. He lasted 2 weeks in this time - quite good going. He likes my chub having being brought up with larger ladies. Unfortunately (for him), it's going for good this time!

hey gals!!

Its started!! im sooooooooooo tired!! Next 30 days is gona be hard but SOOO worth it!!! Im fulfilling a religious duty AND hopefully losing weight in time for my holiday!! woop!

This morning i had dukan toast made in to a scrambled egg sarni! Just couldnt stomach anything else but need to work some yogart in to brekki aswell!! May try porridge next and yogart!

Dinner today will be a GRAND chicken soup ( home made.. when i get home!) Beef steak and also some kebab with cottage cheese!! and for laters... there will be frozen muller light icecream! Tesco after work i think!

Hi Sona, you look like you are doing really well going by the weights on the left hand side. Wow Ramadan, well at least the days are getting shorter, and sunset will be a bit earlier each night lol. Hope you get on with it ok.
My uncle and Auntie live in Dubai, he owns the Manchester clinic there, I am wondering if they do family discounts!
Good luck with Ramadan and the diet too hope you manage to get to your goal for your holiday xxx

Yes good luck with Ramadan Sona... over here they make quite a big thing of it, and I was reading only yesterday in the paper a list of tips to make it through the 30 days in a healthy fashion! (Whenever I've shared Ramadan meals here, "healthiness" hasn't come into it!!)

Robin - ah yes I see... your BMI is normal now, I see. Your goal does seem quite low - is that your Dukan "true weight"? My other half doesn't really mind. He's known me at 80K and 65K. He does say I'm more fun though when I'm "eating". Yep, he's probably right!

That is my "true" weight. The heaviest I've ever been (as an adult not being pregnant) is 75 kilos so not much heavier than when I started this, the lightest (albeit not for long was 60 - and I stayed easily at 63 kilos after having my firstborn until stress got the better of me).

It's true that one's "true weight" comes out lower when never hit the heights as I have... I weighed 63K once for a day, the day I first went into Conso in 1997!

Morning peeps!

Hope your all doing well!! im on day 2 of fasting and i tell u its hard!! Also i think im retaining water! :-( Went to WI yesterday just before i ate (so had been starving for over 17 hours) and i seems to have gained a lb or 2! Shocking but true! I was expecting a bit of a loss to be honest but i guess it will fluctuate a bit to get used to my change in diet and eating pattern i guess!! oh well not to worry! keep going!

Last night was good i managed to make my chicken soup in time for the fast breaking and it was lush! Had my beef steak, chicken seek kebab and cottage cheese with the lovelly chilled muller light!

Tesco have muller lights on 12 for £3 by the way if anyone interested!
Increased my midnight snack to a egg sandwich AND a muller light so im hoping i wont get hungry too early today! Still need to avoid people drinking coffee!

Took a 20 in nap at work yesterday during my lunch break! that was crazy i could hear everything but i was totally out of it! My team at work have been realllly supportive! when i looked worn out and tired yesterday... they told me so! ...yes they are all men! agghh

today im shattered but im shatterd with makeup on! haha

today hoping to make some sausage quiches when i get home..
plan is to make it with egg, formage fraise and some onion and chives soft cheese!! wish me luck! That will then be dinner with some other bits n bobs! Im gona make the chicken tikka NEXT week kinda blew my weekly shopping budget yesterday in tesco!

anyhooz enough of my blub, catch up in a bit!

s xx

Lovely to read your "blub"... very interesting it is too!

So what is your sleep pattern during ramadan?
Meal time pattern?

Are you a smoker (as I understand that one can't smoke during daylight hours either... that would have been a tough one for me, when I smoked!!).

What was the "sandwich" you had? Dukan bread? If so, let us know how you made it as someone was asking about Dukan bread yesterday and I've never done it!

ENJOY!

I genrally sleep at about 12-1 am, then up at 3am to eat, bed again by 3.30- 4am. Up again at 6am (for work morning shift) get home for about 5.15pm take a nap for an hour...

eat at about 8.50pm!

nope!

lol it was ME who was asking wanted to make a loaf! I use 2 tbs of oatbran, 1 wheat bran, 1 egg or just egg white, 1 heavy spook formage fraise and a pinch of salt. Mix it up put it in a squafe tub and m/wave for 3mins and 30 seconds. Cools for a few hours.. slice through the middle to make two slices and toast slighty... spread cream cheese and fill with fried egg... cut in half.. and there u have it... brekki! I make my bread the night before.

ENJOY!

im making quiches tonight.. im thinking 3-4 eggs, formage fraise and cream cheese with salt n pepper.... also gona add chicken sasage for taste. 6 large muffins.

Gosh what a disrupted sleep pattern! If ever I'm awake in the night, it takes me AGES to get back off again so thank goodness I don't do ramadan!

ooops re it being you asking re bread - it's my age - I forget everything! Sounds like a nice sandwich indeed!!

Otherwise smoked fish or smoked salmon or even smoked chicken (we can get all three here quite cheaply) add nicely to the taste. Last weekend, I forgot my quiches and overcooked them and the outsides has caramelised (which adds to the taste also, even if they were a bit dark and crispy!!!)

Good luck tonight!

Nobody would want to sit at the same table as me if I'd only been asleep for 3 hours, I would be so ratty. I try and eat on my own in the morning anyway as I'm not very good first thing and need silence, at least for the first cup of tea.

Best of luck.

Sona I cannot believe how good you are being dieting and fasting. Hats off to you honey!
