Stubbseys Diary - back in the zone!

Morning all, only one of mine eats all veg....her favourite has always been cabbage.....

Lol, good plan! My youngest wouldn't eat food with bits in when he was a baby until he discovered chicken curry. I still tell everyone now that he was weaned on chicken curry :D
And lucky you on having OH who cooks. I was short of some ingredients for the slow cooker today so asked Trev to get them and chuck it in at lunchtime. After a couple of hours he said can't I just get the ingredients and you do it for Tuesday. I guess the responsibility was too much lol :D

my eldest paul is curry mad its a wonder he wasn't weaned on it lol he hated lumps in his food too used to gag on them. kids are funny. when the boys were little i did all the cooking and they ate well, once when they asked my eldest what his favourite food was expecting him to say pizza or macdonalds he said braised steak and vegetables. when i went back to studying about 1996 my oh started cooking meals as he got home earlier, the healthy meals went a bit out of the window then and he got the youngest hooked on junk food and the eldest on curry. so given a choice now mike the youngest would devour a kfc and the eldest a hot curry. but i still make them eat their veggies!! and now steve works later and comes home tired (he is getting old lol) i do quite a bit of the cooking, plus i always make my own so i know what is in it.

when he took over it was weird i actually felt lost in the kitchen, i used to make meals just adding things and not even using recipes there wasn't anything i wouldn't tackle, but he sort of undermined me took my role away if you like and for years i just accepted it because i got lazy and lacked any culinary imagination. BACK ON TOP now tho lol

my oh is a bit of a control freak, not so bad that i can't stand it, but he does like to try, my personality is too strong to be controlled tho so he tries in vain.. lol

my oh steve does, (he is a weirdo, not the conventional type of man lol) but he lovingly makes food for the boys and gets quite sad if they don't like it or don't eat it, he is a cleaning freak too, which i have NEVER discouraged, knock yourself out i say!!! but sometimes now and then i get cross that he tries to do not only his role in the house but mine too. he is not as good a cook as me but likes to think he is lol sometimes i know he is a bit jealous of the things i do well.

steve is an enigma has odd outlook on things, like he says i can do what i want as long as i am honest with him, the freedom is mine. most men would think he is bizarre, and it used to upset me that he didn't care what i would get up to.. and i am not the sort to go out and get up to all sorts so it did cause arguments, all i wanted was a normal moderately jealous man who cared if someone else found me attractive etc, no matter how much i got upset or tried to tell him he would just say, don't be silly most women would kill to be in your position and walk off. MEN are from mars!!

They sure are! A little bit of jealousy is healthy but I was once in a relationship where I couldn't even go food shopping without the Spanish Inquisition. It ultimately ended the relationship.

Well done on shifting those pounds, stubbsey!

I'm glad the fasting is working out for you - funny how it does for some people and not for others. I wish it had worked for me because of the supposed health benefits as much as the potential for weight loss, but eh, never mind. Maybe I'll give it another go one day to see if I've changed - we all do as time goes on, so ya never know! :)

Can I ask what your sugar-free jam is btw? I'm definitely in the market for a good one of those :D

I got it from low carb megastore xx i must say that so much has improved with the fasting so glad iv done it my back is nowhere near as bad.

Is isomalt a bad sweetener? I cant remember the M&S sugar free sweets have that in i wont have anymore until i know

hope u all had a good day!

b. 2 bacob 2 oopsies butter
d. Pork bellies sprouts
s. King cake and cram

Well done on your 2lbs, your mega focused. I think Isomalt has sugar alcohols and if eaten in large amounts can cause gastric distress lol. x

Isomalt is a polyol but isn't one of the worst ones - its GI is only 2 so it's blood sugar impact is pretty low. Still I'd try not to have more than a couple a day.

The worst polyol incidentally is maltitol. Higher GI than orange juice and whether it upsets your stomach or not studies show nearly everyone will absorb 75 percent of it as carbohydrate (so if maltitol is in something and the label says 20g of carbs are from polyols, you'll be absorbing 15g).

Oh ok thanks for that i only usually have them when driving but my mind was ticking over wonder if that was what was causing my weight sticking before? Will only have them when needed now xx

just been to aldi they have ground almonds 180g bag for 99p its not bad tho smaller pack than other supermarkets

Its not even 9 and i can hardly keep my eyes open!

Did a lot of gardening today, bought a cold frame mini greenhouse thing, a little heater and bubble wrap so was busy taking cuttings and lifting plants was totally freezing when i came in, think it wiped me out then had to take my son to Gillingham for appointment so did some shopping while i waited for him. Got to get up early in the morning so going to have an early night!

night night all xxxx

Afternoon hope you are having a good day.

hi all
not a bad day, went to the doctor this morning and getting referred for a different physio and have to have an xray ugh dont fancy that dont like messing with radiation.. having a fasting day today, so what did i do? made a banana cake, and carrot, lentil curry soup for my husband steve, but it was quite theraputic. made miracle noodles stir fry thing for me and it made enough for two helpings so had some already and will have the other later, still got about 70 cals to play with so will have an egg later or ham if i get hungry.

had a hard time getting the recipe for my noodles in mfp, so many people have put shirataki noodles (ooo i got it right) or miracle noodles with the wrong blooming values against them, then i put in chicken chose one which has 7g of carbs in it so had to delete that and look for one that was right, its a bit of a pain sometimes trying to find the right thing.. done it in the end tho, even though i am not sure my chorizo has the right value on it...

hope u have all had a good day today, nice and sunny got washing out as i type, need to go blend my soup in a mo so weill end for now

tracy
