Surfhunny's Countdown to Florida

My theory is that you carry more water after cd and I would say that 7lbs will be water.

I hope so, it makes sense fat cells don't lose their volume for ages after the fat has gone so they do just fill up with water at the drop of a hat.... Oh well here's to SSing and hoping it doesn't take too long to come back off!!

I wish I'd remembered to take my 5-htp this weekend, I've got a mega craving for cheese!!! :( :( must remember to start taking it again tonight. Oh and Rhi, I got mine from Holland and Barrett.

Thanks Hun, they're on offer at the mo aren't they. I may well invest. Do the shops stock them or is it best doing it online? x

I got mine from the shop, too impatient for online lol, I wanted them there and then!!

I hope not, because it freaks me out having put so much on so quickly!!

cheese! i'd take 5-htp but i'm not sure if it will interfere with my prozac stuff.

I think it does, mum can't take it because she's on amytriptyline for her back but that's an antidepressant too.

i've been thinking and if you had a drink that could even be the culprit along with the carbs. don't stress though, says she who is stressing as the scales don't seemed to have dropped at all tonight from last night when i was little miss piggy! what are we like! i'm wondering if you could pop round mine and make my shake or porridge for me cause i can't be bothered to do it. i'm so lazy, very lazy and when it comes to being lazy at making a shake or porridge then that is real laziness! FFS! :)

I don't know about carrying more water after doing CD - but you'll have refilled your glycogen stores if you didn't eat low carb. You can store around 2000 calories worth of glycogen which is going to equate to 500g of glycogen weight alone. Glycogen stores three to four times its own weight of water with it - so now we're up to 2500g or 2.5kg.

2.5kg = 5.5 pounds of weight regained if you fill your glycogen store.

Any additional weight gain will be to do with increased salt intake which might make you retain say another 2 to 3 pounds worth of water. You say you're craving cheese? I'd say that's because your body is already missing the extra salt you took on board (lots of salt in cheese!)

We're up to 8 pounds already. I'm willing to lay money on the fact that in real terms, you've probably gained less than half a pound. :) Three days SS - maximum 5 days - most if not all of those pounds will be off again.

Okay, i'll pop right over Nikki lol. However it would be more beneficial for you to get off your ass and do it yourself :p, just think of the calories you'll burn lol!!

Eeeeek Lily that's amazing!!! I know it's not proper fat, but it still freaks me out. Here's to day 1 again. I'm not going to let it beat me. Tomorrow I've got a 21 hour shift ahead of me, not sure how to space my meals, going to leave breakfast until lunch time and stagger everything a bit later. I hope I can cope with it.

i'm moooooooooooving right noooooooooooow to the kitchen but the effort is killing me lol! :D

I really must start taking my 5-htp again!! I've just burst into tears watching Drop Dead Diva!! It's just a stupid reason, but I want to be in love and watching DDD made me realize how much. I'm going to have to try and do something about it. I dont really know what exactly...

I was talking to my brother a lot this weekend, he's been talking about marrying his girlfriend, they've talked about it quite a bit but I think they're kind of waiting until she's finished her uni course so they can afford to get their own place. It all makes me feel a bit old and on the shelf. He also told me what he thought of Ash, and said it's a good job he never got his hands on him. Aw my protective little brother!

I guess I'm just feeling a bit lonely with all the loved up people around me this weekend.

Me too!!

Not yet, got another week before that sets in!!

Hi Sal,

It sounds as if Lily gave you a sensible explanation for the big jump. Keep in mind that 8 pounds of Shanny's 14 pound gain faded fast... i am sure yours will, too.

I hope you do well on the 21 hour shift (that sounds crazy).

MM
