Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Righto - I'm home, I'm cool (ish), I'm working from home tomorrow and Monday, and I've got a Bombay Sapphire and diet lime tonic in one hand. Happy days :D

Morning all

Only two gins had, so no sore head - but am really tired thanks a noisy neighbour partying until 2.30am (but they stopped when I asked them to, ah the authority of old age! :D)

Also - TMI ALERT - I have a boil on my backside that is quite sore. Tried turmeric paste on it last night but pulled the plaster off this morning and lots of turmeric powder fell off - so that didn't work! A real sign that i am a bit rundown, I'd say. Any other remedies?

Oooh toothpaste, i'll give it a go - already have a yellow bottom courtesy of the turmeric, so it can't get any worse :D

Lucky no one gets to see that part of my anatomy LOL

LOL I'll do anything for a cuddle from HRH :D

Who has been curled up on the sofa, on a blanket, then just wandered outside...OMG I forgot to say what a proud mummy I am. She climbed the tree outside in about two seconds flat last night (after a bird, which laughed at her and flew safely away), then she came down the same way! None of this having to be rescued lark for my girl :D

Well done Orby, tree climber extraordinaire :)

Working from home Monday? I thought you didn't work Mondays these days? xx

They asked me to change the not working day from Monday to Friday, Bren - so I'd not normally be working today but had Wed off so working today makes up my four days :)

So during the Games I'm working from home Monday and Thursday and going in Tuesday and Wednesday :D

You out dancing this weekend?

Ouch Susie, hope it goes away. If all else fails with the tumeric and tomato paste you could start a curry lol.

Oh no Aled Jones a d-head. I used to listen to him on the radio at stupid o'clock on the way to work in the run up to Christmas and he sounded like such a nice person.

Aww little Orby is a star. x

LMAO yeah trust me to try food-based answers :D

Still no good though, I got a really bad bout as a child and I remember this sort of fizzing sensation as it drew the ick to the surface - and that ain't happening :(

I do love a bit of googling though, the remedies some people swear by (half an onion taped to your behind, anyone? :D) - but did find something to try for the flies, which are driving me mad! I daren't use fly spray because Orbs treats them like peanuts before dinner. Apparently a tissue with a few drops of lavender oil in each room will do the trick! Will report back.

Been a good day - got a big job done, and a few other urgents are sorted, so am rewarding myself in the time honoured fashion with a G&T.

Oooh we're definitely gonna be on tellie on Sunday too in the Royal Greenwich programme on Sunday at 7pm. The producer emailed and said we're in it "loads" - whatever that means :D

oh the onion could be a bit uncomfortable. How would you sit? I say G&T is the ticket.

Got the Greenwich on tape mode so will check that out.

Great to get loads done Susie.

lol on Orby's peanuts- classic. x

Morning ! Hope you are feeling better, very disappointed to hear about Aled, I always thought he would be a lovely person!
Well done to Irby and well done to birdie for getting away!!
Have a great day x

Afternoon Susie... I hope you're resting today? lifting that champers bottle looked like it might have been very tiring! xx

LOL it was hun!

Afternoon all, had a lovely champers induced sleep in with Orby :). It was hilarious last night, three of us trying to decipher the mad instructions on the fan I bought - but we got there in the end! :) Thank goodness, it was really muggy last night.

On the downside, I'm really annoyed with my brother. I rang him last nightafter the others left to share all the excitement about the opening ceremony, and he did a right snarl down the phone. Sure, I was a bit merry, but it was completely uncalled for. Been thinking about it a lot today and have decided to take his number off my phone. I've said this before about him, but I really think I need to move on, instead of getting caught up in angst about my family never calling me.

Hey ho, time for lunch :)

Families are a nightmare! Hugs Susie! You can adopt us as your family!!! Xx

You can adopt us as your family!!! Xx

Good idea, Di - I always wanted a sister and now I have LOTS of them :D

I hope this doesn't sound too bizarre or emotionally cold but in an odd way it feels quite healthy to move away from him - a fresh start, along with (hopefully) the permanent job and the new home down the coast.

Love you all xxxx
