Will 2023 be my Year! 🤞🤞

Had a good last day with my Dad on the Isle of Wight, we took him to Sandown, went to the amusements on the pier , and then had an ice cream along the seafront( that coconut ice cream was SO creamy and delicious 😋 !)😊
Did some other jobs for him at home before we got the ferry back.
Also went on the chain ferry from east to west Cowes ( hadn’t been on that for years!)
Bit of a mixed day food wise 🤷‍♀️ and guessed at calories on most things, but I didn’t go overboard and binge on anything so that’s a plus for me 👍😊

Back to tracking properly tomorrow.

The sea looks gorgeous.
I love lakes and water.
I’m not a great swimmer but I still like those environments.

I had a mixed day also.
Went for a walk at a local nature area.
They had a tea room and I brought a choc bar but shared it with my partner.
So, back on the plan today ie Monday as I’m up late….again.

Had a busy and tiring week so not got round to posting….
Still been on track though and within my calories.
Did a couple of walks in the evenings last week with Lucian.

I did notice that you were not on here for a bit.
You were missed!

Anyway it’s always good to read your food diaries.

I had my weigh in and I maintained.
That was a relief to me as I had made some changes to my food. I had introduced some noodle dishes, thinks I picked up in the supermarket that are not free foods. I had not done as many walks as much as I usually do. So totally understand the maintenance.
 
Today me and hubby joined Costco

He’s an HGV instructor etc so could join under ‘education’ 😀
Had a look round the Southampton one and it’s MASSIVE! They literally sell everything!
Got a 12 pack of Fuel chocolate porridge for £6.39 bargain!
Along with bulk loo rolls and other stuff 😊
There are certainly some bargains if you buy bulk in there…. Next time I run out of Pepsi max and baked beans and tinned tomatoes and other stuff I think I’ll get them in there, will definitely work out cheaper overall.
We got a huge lasagne in there to have for dinner and it was tasty 😋 a lot of calories ( I weighed out my portion) but worth it 😊
Probably going for a walk with my daughter and Lucian in a bit ( walk off some calories)
Other than dinner only had coffees and a few red grapes so far today.

Went for a walk this evening, had a couple of other snacks, more coffee ☕
And have been chilling and watching Saturday night tv (ITV)

Also weigh day tomorrow 🤞 don’t think it will be a lot , have had sneak previews during the week 🙄🤷‍♀️😂

by the way I maintained this week.
it’s late and my capitals always go at this time.
Anyway,
I have a sit down work at the computer kind of week ahead which isn’t the Best but
needs to be done.
So perhaps the scales will show my lack of activity bu end of week
but I’m hanging in there and will try to get some movement in.

I think the signature thing with stats is when you get to 50 posts? I’m not sure but think it is ….
Have a look at your account details where you put your starting weight/goal weight etc ?
 
Very well done on getting to 14st something, you’re doing really well and although I personally don’t have the motivation to post anymore, I do read your diary and am getting inspiration from it x

Just a thought... If we keep losing weight, then putting it back on, then losing it again and putting it back on ... we must be doing things wrong, surely? Has anyone discovered something radical that makes them rethink the whole losing weight business?

I seem to put on if I don’t excercise or include some movement on my week.
I have some really sedentary weeks.
So excercise and movement are an important component for me personally.

I also think that for me losing weight week after week every week, is tough on my body and even my mind. It took me some time to put on my weight so I’m resigned to it taking some time to take it of while not being too hard on my body.

I was much more impatient to lose the weight
when I was younger.
I just wanted it gone already.

I tried some VLCD, they worked brilliantly, but I soon regained the weight. I didn’t know how to eat healthily or in a way that would maintain my weight loss.

I’m older now and still overweight.
I have to be gentler with myself as my older body can’t do the VLCD I did try them again quite recently, but just could not stick to it.

So I’m doing a more traditional plan.
I have learned that o an go a week without cakes and biscuits. That is s major achievement for me.
I am learning.

I have been on this diet plan at slimming world since December
I have lost a stone.

I hope you post on here so I can check in and offer encouragement
I find these forums help me

Sorry to be slow responding, but I've had Covid and not a lot has been happening as a result.

While I had Covid, I decided to fast, to help get over it quicker. I have done some one day fasts, but this time I did four days and five nights. I think it helped, and an added benefit is the weight loss.

Your exercise advice is spot on. From what I've read, it doesn't add to weight loss - the benefit is mainly for the brain and mood and feelings of well being. The other advice I've been really surprised by is the role of insulin. We have to keep it low, or the body cannot access the stored fat: insulin acts as a one way valve on storage. Who knew?!
 
Hi @SmallSteps97 yep I'm monitoring by glucose and ketones daily to keep them low. The Glucose Goddess on Instagram has some interesting food hacks to try if you don't want to follow a keto diet but keep your glucose low.
