I have been very busy this last couple of months getting everything ready for my knee op which is on the 1st of November. They have found 3 things wrong with my knee and they are only sure that one of those can be fixed, the other 2 are a wait-and-see exercise
So far all my plans to earn as much money whilst having some rest time have been falling into place and I'm on the last stretch now. I need to work through til next Tuesday so I can be comfortable when I am off. If I get all the days work I need then next Thursday I will be getting myself signed off for the duration. That will give me 2 weeks at home before the op to sort this place out so all Mr Taz has to do is maintain and not do anything too strenuous (being a man he is not good at doing house type stuff). When I am not working I am totally knacked. The knee is in a very poor state and keeping on going with it is using so much energy that I have little left for anything else! I am looking forward to resting and having some real me-time. And, of course, I am looking forward to a trip to Thorpe Park next Wednesday! I will definitely need my crutches for that one.
As Gem has pointed out on her diary, I have been spending some time in my kitchen. I have been making fudge in all kinds of flavours, various different flavours of shortbread and cheesecakes. I sell these at work (not for profit, just for cost) and they are all very popular. I can usually be found at work with a bag full of fudge and shortbread and a notepad ready to take cheesecake orders!
And now for the real reason we are all here.... The weight issue!!!
My scales are broke and I have no desire to replace them at the moment. I have had several sets and for some reason they just don't last. It's not the scales at fault, I think it's just that I have a very small flat and if I leave them out they are vulnerable to damage and if I keep putting them away it's not the safest option either. So, I know where I was the last time I stepped on my scales and last time I visited Gem I had a peek at her scales and I am around the same place still. The plan is to lose 25lb before I return to work in the new year so when I go to the doctors next week I will weigh there and keep checking in on their scales (they have scales in the reception area free to use and print out your weight etc) to see how I am doing.
So after next week I will be more of a permanent fixture on here again.... If any of you are still here
We should have visited you today for a cuppa and shortbread (knowing you were making) but we had to get home cos I'm going out tonight. Let me know when you've got a day off - it's good having coffee at Tazzie Towers x
I was working today, and hopefully for the next 6 days too! I told my manager today that next week will most likely be the last and he understands. He also agrees that I need to fully heal before I go back to work. So it's all kind of official now! I just need to earn the money I need so I can rest easy
Hi Rainbow! In a nutshell: My left knee is badly injured so I have to have surgery on that in a couple of weeks so I will be off work for a couple of months and aim to lose 25lb while I am off. Diet not been going so well lately but I'm hoping to kick start it when I am off. How are you doing?
Well it's Monday and here is how this week is looking: I am working today, it's a long day but a job I really like so I'm pleased with that. I am also working tomorrow but I am spare so hopefully I will have to do nothing then go home early or they will give me lots work to do and it could be a bad evening Then on Wednesday we are going to Thorpe Parke for the day, maybe to Chessington too. Thursday I have a medical which I will fail and be signed off of work and Friday will be the start of my sick leave! Also on Friday I will be baby sitting someone who will have had dental work under sedation on Thursday so that will be fun! I will have 2 weeks from Thursday to get everything up together before I am immobile for the forseeable so I have a lot of work to do here and a lot of resting to do also!
Well I've been to the docs today and I've been signed off for 10 weeks. I got on the scales while I was there and got a rather unpleasant shock so I am more determined than ever to shift some of this flab while I am off
