Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Looking forward to that x

Got the call today from the place I am having my knee done. I have to be there for 10am on Thursday and I will be there for 4-6 hours. I will be asleep for much of that so it won't seem so long :D

Had my hair cut this afternoon and tomorrow I will colour it then Elf will come round in the evening to straighten it so it will be all hassle free for Thursday :)

I have got my 'outfit' ready, jogging bottoms (loose legged) big pants, comfortable bra and a jumper. All easy to put on and comfortable to wear. I think I'm all ready to go but still not got all the stuff done around the house that I'd hope to have got sorted :(

Have you got a change of clothes ;) x

Just checking - you have to think of these things you know :p x

Well I've had another lazy day really. Got my hair coloured and now just have to straighten it. Not much else done today but there is a bowl of washing up telling me I need to get off my rear and do something! No doubt I will be a tad sleepy for the next couple of days so I will be back when I am more 'with it' :D

Good luck with the op Taz - I will be on call for at least the next 2 days when you need me xxx

Probably see you later Taz - if not it will be tomorrow - whatever is needed. Will be with you in spirit x

Hi there - Just heard from Mr Taz - They are on their way home - Taz is OK but a bit woosey x

I've been to see her this evening and she is ok - obviously tired and in some pain but in fine form x

Evening all! Well the op seemed to go well, a lot more painful than when I had my right knee done but I think that's because the right was a simple cartilage repair and this one included further investigation into the knee (ouch!) I was in pain when I woke up so they gave me IV tramadol to take the edge off. I have to take paracetamol 4 times a day and ibuprofen 3 times a day for 5 days and I have to have nightly injections of a blood thinner for 10 days as well as wearing a sexy stocking on my good leg to prevent DVT. I have a massive full leg bandage on at the moment which has become a little annoying as it slips down a little so I have had to keep re-taping it into place. That can come off tomorrow :D but we got a glimpse of what's underneath and it's not pretty! I have plasters over the wounds which have bled through but they need to stay on for 10-14 days and as the paper stitches are attached to the plasters I can't touch! The bonus is, once the big bandage comes off I can shower! Feel a little smelly at the moment :(

The surgeon seems pleased with the op and said he is sure he has fixed the source of my pain and that the surgery was absolutely necessary. Can't wait to tell the 'specialist' that! I have to go back to see him as he showed me some pictures he took inside my knee and wants to discuss further what he found in there. He showed me a picture of some damage in there which is what he will explain in more detail. I was expecting that!

Last night Mr Taz was saying he thought my thigh was swollen so we measured it and it is indeed 5" bigger than the other one!!! When we looked under the bandages the knee is so swollen it's unidentifiable as a knee. The swelling should go in 1-2 weeks

Can't wait to get mobile again, it's very painful to put any weight on it at the moment so I am a little dependant on others and poor Gem has been designated babysitter while Mr Taz is at work. I will have some visitors over the weekend and next week and I have Gem to keep me company too so hopefully I wont get too bored.

Only too pleased to help Taz - you're the one that usually helps everyone else so it's your turn now xxx

It'a OK - you didn't honk Taz :giggle:It was good to spend some time with you today x

Managed a very brief shower this morning but the effort of getting in and out of the tub meant I was a little light headed so had to keep it short. Feel much cleaner now tho :D

Well done - I know you'll feel a lot better for it x
