Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Soooo I'm back to work! I'm doing reduced hours for a week then having a week off, then another week of reduced hours followed by another week off. After that we will see where I'm at with my knee. Baby steps

Sounds very sensible steps Taz - hope all goes well x

That sounds sensible Taz - you can probably work with that - keep an eye on things though x

The kitchen plans are now in the bin :( Mr Taz came home last night and announced that I can "Forget about the kitchen" as he has to spend some money on the car. Some of it can wait but he isn't the most logical of people. He is also worried about his job as there have been a few issues with the payroll department but his job is not at risk. Unfortunately in his over dramatic mind he see's a problem. All it does is make me feel more guilty for not being able to earn the money I've been used to earning. We were only going to put a deposit down and the rest would be taken care of later, much later if necessary but he's done an about turn on that so no new kitchen. I detest my kitchen and the thought of getting a new one at the end of the summer was making it bearable. Now I just want to smash it up! Well he can pi$$ on my kitchen fire but if he thinks he can stop me sneaking the bathroom changes in he is very much mistaken! Cue devious scheming and squirrelling

I doubt it. Probably when it's too late and the quote we have has expired. There's no specific time limit on it but the only way to keep the price is to put the deposit down. We told them that we couldn't do it right away as it depended on the car passing the MOT so he said we could come back in a week and the price would be held. The car passed so I thought we were home and dry but he has decided that the advisory things need to be done RIGHT NOW (which of course they don't!) and the service is due which we already knew anyway! I can understand him not wanting more finance after spending so much on the bedroom but that can be deferred for a year if necessary. I don't know why he thinks this decision is his alone as it's not! I know I'm not earning a lot at the moment and of course I have to get back to earning the big bucks but I really don't need reminding of my uselessness :'(

You're not useless, your knee needed sorting !!
I find MrB and I sometimes have very different ideas on how to handle our finances and getting things done around the house and it can be so frustrating so i feel your pain !!

I wouldn't mind but I can't just do it without his support. It's nice to see that he has faith in me getting better and getting back to work though

And just to make it all the more fun, my carefully planned budgets have been sent into orbit by the week 53 pay  so my pay date will change which means after next payday I will have to change ALL of my standing orders and alter my budgets

Sure does! All it really means is that I have 5 weeks between full pays but on the flip side I get one week pay without it being allocated :D I can see some of that going to Homebase!

Men are a strange breed Taz - never did understand them! Leave it a bit an re-approach the subject in a different way - that sometimes works - or be like me, I've won the lottery - a whole £10 - WOW!

Well I did win a tenner a week ago! I don't really want to tell him about that though, it doesn't do to let them know you are rich!

I'm alright Taz - apart from the select few on here, I think my X for no publicity is working OK. I've had no begging letters for my tenner yet x

Well what an interesting day. Another trip to Weymouth, which was nice. Then my competence manager tells me he's booked me in for my return to work assessment which can't be done until I'm actually fit to do my job so I told him that he will have to ask my knee nicely if the date is suitable! I don't know what date he has in mind but when I saw my physio she said she expects it to be 2 months for my knee to be at full strength. She can't say when it will be good enough to work.

But in other news, we put the deposit down on the kitchen today! Oh yes!!! I still want it done in September but the Doom-meister is thinking we still won't be financially sound enough to shoulder the expense until next year :( and if I don't get back to work soon he may well be right!

Sensible timing for the knee - competence manager will have to fall in line. Great news about the kitchen - hope it all falls into place as you need it to. You can cope with the gloom and doom now you know you've got the price secured - once all is up and running again he'll be as excited as you are if I know anything about him x
