I think the adrenalin really helps when you're running it...I did very little training for RFL last year and did it in 38 mins which I was really proud of. Am going to do a half marathon at some point, just need to find one near me!
And Ali, those shoes will be MINE when I hit target, fear not! xxx
I don't think I've ever met adrenalin, lol! I don't really get pumped up about stuff very easily, which is a shame... Enthusiasm is something I lack unfortunately!
WOW 38 mins?! That's definitely something to be proud of! Best of luck for when you do find that half marathon near you, that's something I could only wish to aim for...
Maybe you could do walking in those heels?

My dad died of cancer in March 2009 so know what you're going, through my dad was in hospital and was due to be moved to St Christophers Hospice but passed away before he could be moved.
It's such a worthwhile cause to run for. I'm so unfit but maybe hoping that one day i'll be able to help raise funds for cancer research. Good luck with your training and of course the run.
Sorry to hear about your dad hun, big hugs to you. Something I caught on TV accidentally this morning, I was meant to be getting ready for uni but decided to watch a few minutes of Everwood on E4 and it just seemed like my laziness = my fate. A girl's mum had just died and a boy told her that basically, people tell you it gets easier, and though you don't want to believe it, you eventually do, begrudgingly. But it doesn't get easier, it just becomes something you live with. You don't turn back into the person you were before they died, because their passing changes you. You just learn to live with it, like (this is his example, which I thought was so true) if your right hand gets busted, you don't just stop doing things. You learn how to use your left one. It doesn't change you, it just becomes a part of you and you learn something new. Would you randomly start writing left-handed if nothing had happened to your right? No, but when the need arises, you can.
Similarly, caught the last few minutes of a really old episode of One Tree Hill where Peyton finds her birth mother who is suffering from cancer. Mum thinks Peyton has come to see her because she feels guilty, or out of sympathy. They fight, and Peyton tells her she came over because she was going to sell a CD to raise money for cancer research. I was never able to say the C word out loud, I still flinch when I say it but I don't know why. I can't tell my dad I'll be running for CR but I hope he knows.

Thanks for sharing Ali. I think all money raised during RFL goes directly to CR but why not split your sponsorship as such. Maybe set up on online page for RFL and make your own sheet for immediate family and friends who were aware of your dad's final wishes and donate that money to the hospice.
Husband bought me Sports Active for the PS3 today. I'm going to do that along with my weekly aerobics class. Hoping this will improve my overall fitness levels and gives me a good cardio workout at the same time. I've not checked the game out fully but I believe there are running/jogging programmes. I think I'll start running indoors and hopefully have the confidence to run outside in a few weeks!
That's a good idea, thank you
I might just do that.
Sounds like an interesting buy! I'm hoping to get to Zumba tomorrow, let's see how my day pans out... I can't do games console workouts anymore, in our house it's either the Wii or the PS3 (they stay plugged in to the same TV) and it's usually the PS3, which I don't get along with! xxx
