This Little Piggy Goes to Atkins

I've made a big decision - it will come as no surprise that I am going to follow my twin and do a vlcd for the next month or so. Diem is doing it because she wants to be at her goal weight when she goes away at Christmas, but I know that ideally I would like to be a stone nearer to my goal and use Atkins to maintain. I would be the green eyed monster if she managed that and I wasn't a bit nearer to my goal!!
I love being on Atkins and I know it will remain my WOE for life, but I want to able to stop worrying too much about not losing pounds. So I figure I'll take off another stone or so and then come back.
It's a good time to do it, I have no social plans (other than meeting up with diem) this month, and I think it will bring my frame of mind into balance again.
I too will keep my diary here, I like this board and I want to communicate with you all daily.

Good luck to you both with vlcd, I tried lipotrim once, only lasted 1 week, I think if I had done it for 2 meals a day and then proper food for the other meal I might have lasted longer. I know what you mean about maintaining on atkins, that is really all I have been doing for the last 2months, no losses.

Yesterday, on his way home from work, my husband was concentrating so hard on a broken type noise from his car that he managed to hit next doors brand new BMW, whilst parking. So today after work we need to sort out both the broken cars. Because I knew I wouldn't have time to walk the dog in the daylight after work and sort the cars going to garages etc, I took the dog in the short gap between getting ready for work and leaving for work. Just a quickie walk, no hassle, you know the sort? Oh no, today she decided to roll from head to toe in stinking, rotten, dirty sh1te. The kind that cannot be left without being washed off. So home we trot, shower it off and then I notice my only pair of work trousers that fit are flecked with mud. Oh I hope it's not going to be one of those days!

lol its funny but not!!! my MIL smells and her boyfriend is worse, B.O which there is no excuse for luckily we never see them or smell them lol..

In case anyone is interested, I emailed Rachel at low carb megastore about the Da Vinci syrups. All she could advise is that they're expecting a delivery in the next couple of Weeks.

I'm feeling quite invigorated by the thought of a month or so of only cooking (low carb) for Mr mine. It will feel mentally cathartic in some way, and I will feel happy to regain some control by doing the vlcd. Not to mention that I want to feel comfortable in all size 12 clothes!

I'm thinking I'll probably aim for doing one month. If I find I have no social engagement between then and Christmas week, I'll do the extra days too. I would like to get to 10.7 at least, any less would be great. I don't know my current weight, so will weigh tomorrow. I really hope I don't have any extra poundage to shift!
Don't forget to do your measurements.

Ok, I will join you in that. As with last time, there will be nothing more we can do so no point fretting. We'll soon know we're losing when all our clothes are too big - HURRAH!

Oh Smiley the accident-dog poo day sounds like a day from hell, you poor love! I grew up on a farm and the farm dogs were always rolling around in cow poo (ewwww) :D

You will have to call me your triplet (the older, bigger one) because I'm also starting VLCD on Wednesday (Slim and Save) - didn't realise you and Diem planned this but will be great to have any bones of encouragement you can chuck me - and vice versa!

I have been doing low carb on and off for two years now, and have lost and gained the same amounts of weight - probably down to my love of red wine and a major lack of portion control. So am going to see if I can kickstart myself into a decent loss before Christmas.

Good luck to you both! :)

good luck with it girlies xx

i got my low carb megastore order today and a bottle of davincis blueberry syrup, is this trully low carb, does it contain any polyols etc or can we just use it willy nilly with confidence?

It can be used with confidence, my dear!

So I've had my 'last supper', immune boosting soup and half an avocado with egg mayo. It was really scrummy.
We've taken the car to the garage in the next town, it needs a new radiator. Waiting to hear from the neighbour about the damage to his car.

I have added somewhat to the last supper with a tiny Atkins trifle, raspberries & cream and a couple of nuts. Whoops!

Yes davincis is liquid splenda and you can use it as you wish - no polyols.

Aww girls, I'm sad to lose you from low carb and do think you'd both have lost on it but it does require some meticulous tracking during the weight loss phase (much easier if just maintaining) and am sure VLCD if you can do it removes a lot of the pressure of thinking about food. I did Cambridge for several months several years ago and there are many reasons I don't advocate vlcd without a long term maintenance strategy - hopefully low carb will act as that for you. You're both very tough to be able to put yourselves through it when so close to goal already! I wish you both every luck with it, though from your previous experiences im sure you won't need it :)
